Product Usage Instructions

  • Operating Instructions
    • Before operating the appliance, ensure it has been properly installed according to the Owner’s Manual.
  • Initial Cooling
    • Wait for 12 hours for the refrigerator to cool completely before adding food to prevent spoilage.
  • Temperature Controls
    • Ensure the controls are set correctly for normal household use. Adjust controls only after checking air vents for blockages.
  • Electronic Controls
    • Activate temperature functions (Max Cool, Deep Freeze, Fast Freeze, Sabbath Mode) only after stabilized temperatures are reached.
  • Turn On/Off
    • Touch the power icon for 3 seconds to turn the refrigerator On or Off. The display will show internal temperatures and start cooling.
  • Adjusting Temperature
    • Touch the appropriate icon on the home screen to adjust the compartment temperature. Confirm by pressing OK.
  • Ice Maker Activation
    • Perform a prewash of the water circuit before activating the Ice Maker. Select cube size (Medium/Large) and enable the Max Ice function for increased ice production.
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
    • Q: How do I activate the Ice Maker?
    • A: Perform a prewash of the water circuit before activating the Ice Maker. Touch the functions icon on the home screen, scroll to Ice Maker, select cube size and enable the Max Ice function.

    • A: The Max Ice function deactivates automatically after 24 hours.

IMPORTANT:

  • Wait 12 hours for your refrigerator to cool completely before adding food. If you add food before the refrigerator has cooled completely, your food may spoil.
  • NOTE: Adjusting the refrigerator and freezer controls to a colder-than-recommended setting will not cool the compartments any faster.
  • The recommended settings should be correct for normal household refrigerator use. The controls are set correctly when milk or juice is as cold as you like and when ice cream is firm.
  • If the temperature is too warm or too cold in the refrigerator or freezer, first check the air vents to be sure they are not blocked before adjusting the controls.

NOTES:

  • Available functions will appear in Orange colour and non-available functions will appear in Blue.
  • The 4 temperature functions (Max Cool, Deep Freeze, Fast Freeze, Sabbath Mode) can be activated only after the stabilized temperature has been reached.
  • For your convenience, your temperature controls are preset at the factory. When you first install your refrigerator, make sure the controls are still set to the initial settings as shown.

To Turn Your Refrigerator On/Off:

  • Touch the icon for 3 seconds to turn On or Off the unit.
  • The display will turn on (starting screen and home screen) with the temperature measured from the fridge inside the compartments will appear again.
  • The refrigerator will start cooling until reaching the set temperature.

Adjusting Electronic Controls

  • The temperature control range for each compartment is 1 through 7.
  • Touch the appropriate icon on the home screen to adjust the temperature of the desired compartment then scroll up/down to select the desired temperature Touch the icon OK to confirm the temperature.

Max Cool

  • The function lowers the refrigerator temperature to +2°C (35.6°F) for 12 hours, after 12 hours the function deactivates automatically and returns to the previously set temperature.
  • After a power failure, it is necessary to reactivate the function.
  • Touch the functions icon on the home screen then touch Max Cool. Now Scroll up/down to set the desired time and then press ON.

DeepFreeze® Mode

  • This function must be activated at least 24 hours before inserting room temperature items into the freezer, or several hours before placing into the freezer previously frozen items that have been subject to a slight temperature rise.
  • Touch the functions icon on the home screen then touch DeepFreeze® Mode. Now Scroll up/down to set the desired time and then press ON.

Fast Freeze

  • This function can be activated when it is necessary to cool off beverages quickly, by placing them inside the freezer compartment.
  • It is possible to select a duration of 1 minute to 45 minutes. A sound signal will indicate when the desired temperature has been reached.
  • After removing the beverages, deactivate the sound signal by pressing the Alarm button.
  • Touch the functions icon on the home screen then touch Fast Freeze. Now Scroll up/down to set the desired time and then press ON.

Sabbath Mode

Your refrigerator is equipped with the Sabbath Mode feature, which is designed for those whose religious observances require turning off the lights and ice maker.

To activate Sabbath Mode:

  1. Choose the “settings icon” on the main screen.
  2. Scroll to the right and locate the “Sabbath Mode Icon” on the second screen (top right). Select the icon.
  3. A new screen will appear asking if you want the Sabbath Mode On or Off. Choose “ON”.
  4. A new screen will appear asking if you want Sabbath Mode On, Yes or NO. Choose “Yes”.
  5. The product will enter Sabbath Mode.

To deactivate Sabbath Mode:

  1. Touch the main screen. It should have “Sabbath Mode” written on it.
  2. A new screen will appear asking for Sabbath Mode On or Off, Choose “Off”.
  3. The Sabbath Mode is deactivated and the product will re-start.

Ice Maker Activation

  • A prewash of the water circuit should be performed before activating the Ice Maker for the first time. After a few minutes, the Ice Maker can be activated.
  • Touch the functions icon on the home screen then scroll right to touch the Ice Maker icon and then press OK.

Set Ice cube Size – Max Ice

  • The IceMaker function permits selecting the size of the ice cubes, by choosing between Large (base setting) or Medium, and activation of the Max Ice function, which increases the quantity of produced ice.
  • The Max Ice function deactivates automatically after 24 hours.
  • Touch the functions icon on the home screen scroll right to touch the Ice Maker icon then touch the Set Cube Size icon. The default cube size is “medium”.
  • Select the desired set cube size (Medium/Large) If you would like to increase the production of ice, touch the Max Ice icon, this will enable the freezer to produce more ice, up to 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) a day, then press ON.

Water Filter

  • Water Filter Activation/Deactivation
    • The display shows the time left before the filter needs to be replaced. The water filter Reminder has to be activated by the user.
    • Touch the Functions icon on the home screen then scroll right to touch the Water Filter icon, touch Yes to proceed then Push Yes to enable the countdown timer and then the remaining days will appear on the screen for filter replacement.
    • Follow similar steps to deactivate the filter replacement reminder (Push OFF).
  • Reset Filter
    • The Reset Filter function sets to zero the time left before the filter needs to be replaced. It is necessary to set the meter to zero each time the cartridge is replaced.
    • Touch the Functions icon on the home screen then scroll right to touch Water Filter icon, touch the Reset button to proceed then Push Yes and reset the countdown timer. The full duration of the water filter cartridge will appear on the screen.

Water System Manual Clean

  • If ice production has been disabled or unused for a long period it is recommended to perform a Manual Clean function.
  • Before proceeding it is important to turn off the ice maker.
  • Touch the Functions icon on the home screen then touch the Water System Purge icon and press Yes.
  • Push OK to start cleaning, once the cleaning process is done press OK and wait for a few seconds for the menu screen to appear.
  • Repeat the cleaning until the water on the freezer tray will not be clean.

Bypass filter

  • The included filtration system can be bypassed when excellent water quality is available from the home water system.
  • You can simply remove the water filter from the adapter and the system will automatically bypass the cartridge.

  • It is possible to personalize the settings of your JennAir refrigerator by adapting it to the different ways you might want to use it.
