After charging, first unplug the charger from the socket and then disconnect the charging cable from the charger and the Powerpack.

6.4 JUMP START FOR 12 V VEHICLES

  1. Switch off the ignition and all consumers on your vehicle.
  2. Ensure that the battery capacity of the Powerpack is still at least 75% and that the battery callipers of your vehicle battery are not soiled or oxidised..
  3. Connect the powerpack and the jumper cable by inserting the plug of the start box (position 11 in the overview) of the jumper cable into the jumper connector (position 8 in the overview) of the powerpack. When doing so, make sure that the plug is firmly and securely inserted. The indicator lights (18 and 19) of the jumper box flash alternately.
  4. First connect the red pole clamp (position 9 in the overview) of the jump-start cable to the positive pole and then the black pole clamp (position 10 in the overview) to the negative pole of the vehicle battery. The pole clamps must have a firm and secure contact to the battery poles. If the polarity of the cables is reversed or if there is a short circuit, the red indicator light (19) of the jumper box lights up and a warning tone sounds. If the jumper cables are connected correctly, the green control light (18) lights up and a click sound is emitted for approx. 20 sec.
  5. Start the engine of your vehicle within these 20 sec. After the 20 sec. have elapsed, the click sound stops and the red indicator light lights up. A start attempt is now no longer possible. For a new start attempt, you must now disconnect the start box from the Powerpack and remove the pole clamps from the battery. Start again from point 3 of this section.
  6. Do not let the starter motor operate for more than 3 seconds. If the start attempt was not successful, disconnect the start box from the Powerpack, remove the terminal clamps from the battery and wait at least two minutes until you start the next attempt. After the third unsuccessful start attempt, do not make another attempt, but check your vehicle for faults.
  7. Disconnect the jumper cable from the powerpack.
  8. Then remove the pole clamps from the vehicle battery.
    Recharge the power pack.

6.4.1 POSSIBLE ERRORS DURING JUMP START
The control lamp of the Smartbox does not shine green permanently:

  • The terminal clamps have no contact or poor contact to the battery callipers
Clean the battery poles and reattach the terminal clamps

  • The battery of the Powerpack is not adequately charged
    Charge the battery

  • The current required for the jump start exceeds the possibilities of the Powerpack
Use a Powerpack with greater performance

6. 5 USING THE LED LIGHT/SIGNAL LAMP
To switch on the continuous light of the LED light (position 7 in the overview), hold down the switch (position 1 in the overview) of the Powerpack for approx. 3 seconds. Then, by pressing the switch again, you can switch on the following light functions one after the other: Fast flashing – SOS – OFF
