GENERAL INFORMATION
Unpack the appliance carefully and retain the packaging for possible future
use, in the event of moving or returning the fire to your supplier.
The appliance incorporates a flame effect, which can be used with or without
heating, so that the comforting effect may be enjoyed at any time of year.
Using the flame effect on its own only requires little electricity. The
appliance is designed to be built into a surround or built into a wall.
Please note: Used in an environment where background noise is very low, it may
be possible to hear a sound which is related to the operation of the flame
effect. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern.
This product contains and utilises water as an aspect of its operation, the
adherence to the cleaning requirement as detailed within the instructions is
necessary to ensure that risk/s through bacterial proliferation are minimised.
Please refer to the Maintenance section in the following instruction booklet
for details on the cleaning.
Once installed, never move this appliance or lay on its back, without draining
the water from sump and water tank.
WATER QUALITY & CLEANING
Normal clean tap water should be used in this device. In areas with hard
water, a water softener (decalcifier) filter is recommended and more frequent
cleaning and maintenance may be required.
Unfiltered water supplied from a well or another unmonitored supply is not
recommended. The water tank, sump, sump lid, tank cap and air filters must be
cleaned once every week, particularly in hard water areas. This is to remove
dirt and prevent build up of limescale which could damage the product.
If you intend not using the appliance for longer than a week, drain the water
from sump and water tank and dry the sump.
Ensure any soap/cleaning detergents if used are rinsed off fully to remove any
residue before reusing parts. Do not use any harsh or corrosive chemicals for
cleaning as these could damage the parts.
The sump and the water tank in this product are treated with a biocidal
product, Silver Biocide. This conforms to the latest relevant ISO standard.
Do not drink the water from the sump or from the water tank(s).

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This section describes how to install and set up your fire. Before you start:
- Ensure that all packing items are removed (read any warning labels carefully) and retain all packing for possible future use, in the event of moving or returning the appliance to your supplier.
- Before connecting the appliance, check that the supply voltage is the same as that stated on the appliance.
- Make sure the unit is switched OFF during installation.
The 3-Step can be changed to suit 3 styles, the Tripple (3 side glass), the
Duet (2side glass) and the Relax (front glass only). The product comes already
comes as a Relax. To change between models fix the suction cups to the front
glass and lift the glass upwards and then down and away from the product see
fig 3a. Remove the rubber cord on the inside of the side glass at the bottom
and top. Slide the side metal plate and side glass out together see fig 3b.
Seperate the side glass and slide it back into place. Use the larger rubber
cord to fix the side glass in place found in the instruction pack. Replace the
front glass by repeating the steps above in reverse. Use the suction cups to
adjust the side glass so that you have a both the front and side glass fitting
correctly. Ensure that there is a gap of 300mm between the top of the fire and
the underside of any shelf.
BUILDING THE PRODUCT SURROUND/ENCLOSURE
This product can be built into a wall, surround or structure. Please take note
of the product dimensions (Fig.1) and build your wall, surround or structure
accordingly. Ensure that any constructed base is sufficiently strong to
support the weight of the product. Suitable clearance should be provided to
allow the product to be installed easily.
When determining a location for the product, ensure that the unit will not be
susceptible to drafts, vents, ceiling fans and other air currents. Similar to
a candle, large movements of air will affect the unit’s ability to create and
maintain the flame effect. If the desired location is susceptible to
significant air movement, i.e. air vents, the different installation options
illustrated in (Fig 2) can be used.
If fitting this product in a fireplace opening, we recommend that;
- You have your chimney cleaned by a competent chimney sweep.
- You block off the chimney flue.
This procedure is important for the efficient operation of the heating unit
and will also reduce heat loss up the chimney.
WALL MOUNTING THE PRODUCT
This product must be secured to a supporting wall for installation. Once your
supporting base has been built to the required dimensions and an electrical
connection has been installed, follow the steps below to install your product.
- Using the dimensions in Fig 1 mount the wall brace supplied on the wall in the desired location. Firmly secure the brace to the wall using 4 appropriate fixings suitable for your wall construction.
- With two persons holding the fire by the sides, carefully move the product into position on the constructed base and suspend the fire from the wall brace. Ensure the cable is accessible and not caught under the product.
- Adjust the supporting feet using a spanner to ensure the product is level and fully supported at all sides. The base of the product should be raised above the level of the platform to allow for air circulation.
- Tighten the screws holding the product to the wall brace to lock it in position.
- Complete the construction of the surrounding front/side facia around the product. Ensure that there is an opening at the front for air to get into the product, see Fig 21. This is essencial for the flame effect. Also ensure that there is venting at the top of the product, this is essencial for the heater to function correctly, see Fig 20.
VENTILATION
This product needs free ventilation from underneath to operate correctly.
There are slots on the underside of the drawer, the rear of the product and
along the drawer front to allow this free air through the product. The free
ventilation helps keep the electronic components cool and allows the mist to
rise and leave the product. Please take note of the requirement for
ventilation around the product and ensure that vents are not blocked. If
fitting into a surround/enclosure ensure that there is a ventillation gap to
allow a clear path for the air to get into the product.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Plug the fire into a 16amp 230/240 Volt outlet located within 1m of the
product. Be sure to have access to the plug after installation to allow for
disconnection. Ensure that the supply cable exits at the back of the fire to
suit your supply socket location and is not trapped under the fire such that
it might cause it to be damaged.
FILLING THE WATER TANK
Before powering on the product for the first time, ensure that a full water
tank has been placed on the product. Open the drawer and remove the water tank
from its location on top of the sump (Fig ) and open it by unscrewing the
orange cap (Fig ). The tank should be filled with clean (decalcified) water
only – Refer to WATER QUALITY & CLEANING for more details. When the tank is
replaced on top of the sump, it will take about one minute for the tank to
empty into the sump. Allow the sump to fill fully before switching on the
product. Once filling is complete, the tank can be refilled and replaced on
top of the sump. This will allow for the maximum capacity of water to be
stored in the product.

ADAPTIVE START
The built-in electronics in this appliance have a learning function with
regards to how long it takes to heat up a room.
Having learnt how quickly it can heat up your room, the appliance is able to
turn on at just the right time in order to get the room up to a comfortable
temperature when you want it. For example, if you get up at 7am, you would
normally have to guess when to turn the heating on in order for it to pre-heat
the room in time. Depending on how cold it is outside, this could mean the
room is still cold when you have to get out of bed, or mean that its been warm
for half an hour before it needed to be. Adaptive Start means that if you
select 21°C at 7am, the heater will turn on exactly when it needs to in order
to meet this target, running for shorter periods of time when the weather is
mild, and ensuring the room is nice and warm in the winter. The Adaptive Start
function will automatically activate when you use the Timer Mode.
FROST PROTECT
Frost protect mode prevents the room from freezing. The heater will turn on if
the room temperature drops below 7ºC.
Will indicate on the screen when active.
TEMPERATURE UNITS DISPLAY
User can change the Units of the temperature (ºC and ºF). Use to select and
ENTER to confirm.
FLAME CONNECT APP
The fireplace is capable of being controlled using the Flame Connect App for
mobile devices. This is available to download to your device from Google Play
or Apple
App stores. Follow the on screen instructions for set-up.

LOW WATER / REFILLING THE WATER TANKS
When the water tanks have emptied and the water level in the product is
getting low, the product will flash its LEDs twice and beep twice. The product
will operate for a further 15 minutes before beeping once and switching into
low water mode. For products being operated with the LED log fuel bed, only
the fuel bed will remain illuminated while in low water mode. At this point,
the product can either be switched into stand-by mode using the remote control
or Bluetooth receiver or the product can be refilled with water. Refilling the
product with water will cause the product to restart automatically.
To refill the tank, open the drawer and remove the water tank from its
position on top of the sump. Refill the water tank using filtered/decalcified
water only. The tank can then be replaced on top of the sump. If the product
was not switched into stand-by mode after experiencing low later, the product
will restart automatically after about 20 seconds of refilling.
