Model Nos. SA440, SA840 Plugs {Nonpolarized), SA540 Plug {Polarized)
NOTE: Select wire size adequate for load. Refer to NEC tables article
400.
Cord range: #18/2 SPT, SV to #16/2 SJ, .320 inch dia. max.
Important: Use copper wire only. Do not tin Conductors.
Disconnect power before wiring to remove blade assembly

To remove blade assembly, nsert screwdriver through cord hole and press against yellow insert. Grasp blades with other hand and fully push out insert. Remove blades.

Thread wire through plug.

Separate two conductors 1-1/8″

Strip each wire conductor approx. 5/8″

Wrap the bare wires clockwise around the terminal screws and tighten the screws to hold the wire firmly.
Then insert the insulated part of the wire firmly into the strain relief slots in the blades.
A) For cat. Nos. SA440 and SA840 (both termina s brass color) attach one each wire to either terminal.
B) For cat. No. SA540 note that one terminal s white (silver-coored) and wider than the other. Connect the identified (neutral) white wire or wire marked with extra rib on insulation to this terminal. Connect second wire to brass colored terminal. -
Tighten screws.

Snip off any oose wire strands not held under screw head.

To replace contact assembly, place the prongs in the body and press the yellow nsert into the body until the insert s flush with the body.
