INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Gabby’s Dollhouse A-MeowZing Phone.
Give Gabby and her friends a call with a phone that’s just like the one Gabby uses in the show. This cat-shaped phone makes it feel like you’re really talking to Gabby—she’ll even respond! Play meow-mazing games focused on music, logic, maths and more with Gabby, Pandy Paws, Cakey Cat and DJ ‘Daniel James’ Catnip.Vtech 5619 A Meow Zing Phone - INTRODUCTION

WARNING:
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE:
Please save this Instruction Manual as it contains important information.
Unlock the Packaging Locks:

  1. Turn the packaging lock anticlockwise several times.
  2. Pull out and discard the packaging lock.

INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:
Adult assembly required for battery installation.
Keep batteries out of reach of children.
Note: This toy phone has reduced volume to adhere to safety regulations for close-to-the-ear toys.

BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
  2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.Vtech 5619 A Meow Zing Phone - INSTALLATION
  3. If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
  4. Install 3 new AAA (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended.)
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION

  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
  • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
  • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
  • Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:

  • Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from toy before charging.
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  1. ON/OFF BUTTON
    To turn the unit on, press the On/Off Button. Press the On/ Off Button again to turn the unit off.

  2. MEOW MAIL BUTTON
    Press the Meow Mail Button to hear messages from Gabby about her friends and see them on the screen. The light will flash with the sounds.

  3. GAME BUTTONS
    Press the Game Buttons to play one of the four games.

  4. NUMBER BUTTONS
    Press the Number Buttons to learn numbers or to answer number-related questions.

  5. CHAT WITH FRIENDS BUTTON
    Press the Chat With Friends Button to chat with Gabby and Pandy Paws and hear them respond.

  6. OK BUTTON
    Press the OK Button to confirm your choice.

  7. LEFT/RIGHT BUTTONS
    Press the Left/Right Buttons to make a selection in games or menus.

  8. PHONE CALL BUTTON
    Press the Phone Call Button to pretend to make a call and leave a message.

  9. CANCEL CALL BUTTON
    Press the Cancel Call Button at any time to end the call.

  10. MICROPHONE
    The Microphone is used for the voice activation feature. Be sure to keep the Microphone about 10cm from your mouth for best results.

  11. LIGHT UP EAR
    The Light Up Ear will flash with the sounds during the games and features.

  12. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
    To preserve battery life, the A-Meow-Zing Phone will automatically turn off after several minutes of inactivity. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the On/Off Button.
    The unit will also automatically turn off when the batteries are very low. A warning will be displayed on screen as a reminder to change the batteries .

NOTE:
If the unit powers down while playing, we suggest changing the batteries.

GAMES & FEATURES:
The VTech® Gabby’s Dollhouse A-Meow-Zing Phone has 6 games and features to play.

  1. DJ’s Music
    It’s music time! Blow into the Microphone to pass the mic to DJ ‘Daniel James’ Catnip.
    Press the Number Buttons to hear music.
    Press the Left/Right Buttons or OK Button to add fun sounds to the music.

  2. Cake Pattern Fun
    Help Cakey Cat decorate the cake by finding the correct shape to complete the pattern.
    Press the Left/Right Buttons to choose then press the OK Button to confirm. Celebrate completing all three levels by blowing into the Microphone to blow out the candle.

  3. Hopscotch Memory
    Pandy Paws is playing hopscotch! Remember the order and press the Number Buttons to repeat it.

  4. Magic Potion Counting
    Help MerCat find the correct number of shapes to make the magic potion. Press the Left/Right Buttons to choose then press the OK Button to confirm. Celebrate completing all three levels by blowing into the Microphone for a magical surprise.

  5. Meow Mail
    Press the Meow Mail Button to hear messages from Gabby about her friends and see them on the screen.

  6. Chat with Friends
    Press the Chat With Friends Button to chat with Gabby and Pandy Paws. Speak into the Microphone and hear them respond.

  7. Settings
    Press this button to turn the background music on or off, adjust the screen contrast or choose a ringtone out of the three options.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
  3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
  4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

  1. Please turn the unit Off.
  2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  4. Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again.
  5. If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries.
