Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Device

The ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ removes fluid from a wound by using carefully controlled suction.

Things you need to know about your ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™
  • Do not allow the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ to get wet. Disconnect the tubing from the canister if you take a bath or shower.
  • Keep the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ plugged in whenever possible to keep the battery fully charged. Always take the A.C. Power Adapter with you when you leave home.
  • Keep the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ upright to avoid a false Canister Full alert.
  • Keep the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ turned on at all times unless there is bleeding from the wound or instructed by your healthcare professional.
  • Do not change the settings on the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ unless you are told to do so by your healthcare professional.
  • The ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ can only be prescribed by your healthcare professional.
Changing the Canister

1 Clamp the tubing closed.
2 Turn ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ off by pressing the OFF Button.
3 Gently twist the blue Twist N’ Connect™ end of the tubing counterclockwise and pull to remove the tubing from the canister.
4 Press the Canister Release Button found above the canister. Grasp the canister at the bottom and pull downward.
5 Cap the canister. Ask your healthcare professional how to properly dispose of a used canister.
6 Hold the new, unused canister at the bottom and slide upwards.
7 Align the two ports on the canister lid to the two ports in the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ and press the canister upwards until it “clicks” into place.
8 Reconnect the tubing to the canister by gently lining up the blue Twist N’ Connect™ end of the tubing to the Twist N’ Connect™ port on the canister, push down and twist clockwise to lock into place.
9 Reopen the tubing clamp.
10 Turn the device on by pressing the ON Button.

Troubleshooting Alerts
If the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ begins to alert, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

Turning ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ ON
Press the ON Button to start therapy.

Turning ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ OFF
Press the OFF Button to stop therapy. The display flashes “o-f-f” three times before the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ turns off.

Troubleshooting

1. Low Pressure/Leak

(1) Push up on bottom of canister.

Wait 30 seconds

(2) If you see:

SOLID LIGHT

Low Pressure/Leak is fixed.

If you see/hear:

ON BLINK + BEEP + “1” BLINKING in Alert Display

2. Canister Full/Blockage – with clamp

WHAT YOU SEE/HEAR

WHAT TO DO

First, look at the canister to see if it is full. If the canister is full, change the canister (see “Changing the Canister” on front page). If the canister is not full, proceed with the steps below.

(1) Make sure clamp is OPEN.

Wait 30 seconds

(2) If alert continues, go to step 3.

(3) Look for kinks in tubing. Unkink if found.

Wait 30 seconds

(4) If alert stays on, go to step 5.

(5) Turn OFF.

(6) Clamp tubing and remove canister (see “Changing the Canister” on front page).

(7) Replace with new canister, reattach tubing and open clamp (see “Changing the Canister” on front page).

(8) Turn ON.

Wait 1 minute

(9) If you see:

SOLID LIGHT

Canister Full/Blockage is fixed.

If you see/hear:

2. Canister Full/Blockage – without clamp

First, look at the canister to see if it is full. If the canister is full, change the canister (see “Changing the Canister” on front page). If the canister is not full, proceed with the steps below.

Canister Full/Blockage is fixed.

If you see/hear:

NOTE: A false Canister Full/Blockage alert can occur if drainage moves into the canister while the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ is lying on its front (the button side) or if it is turned upside down. If this occurs, you must change the canister to resume device operation. Always keep the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ upright.

3. Battery Low

WHAT YOU SEE/HEAR

(1) Plug A.C. Power Adapter into outlet.

Battery Charging Port

Wait 30 seconds

(2) If you see:

SOLID LIGHT ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ is plugged in.

Power is connected.
Battery is charging.

If you see/hear:

THREE BEEPS + “3” BLINKING in Alert Display

4. Service Timer

WHAT TO DO

Keep the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ plugged into an outlet to keep the battery charged. Do not turn off the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™. If the ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ is turned off during this alert, it cannot be turned back on. Contact your healthcareprofessional immediately to ensure your therapy is not interrupted.

5. Intermittent Mode

WHAT TO DO

ALLY™/ALLY TO GO™ makes more noise every 5 minutes when in Intermittent Mode.
No troubleshooting needed. For more information, contact your healthcare professional.
