SIMPLE COMPASS

6 Operation Modes: Compass, Time, Date, Chronograph, Timer and Alarm

  • Electronic compass with digital direction indication in 16 positions together with degree
  • Time mode presents weekday, hours, minutes and seconds
  • Date mode presents weekday, month, day and year
  • 12/24 hour display format option
  • Auto calendar from 2000-2099
  • 1/100th second chronograph with range up to 24 hours
  • 1 second resolution timer with range of 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds
  • Daily alarm and hourly chime
  • EL backlight

EL BACKLIGHT

  • Press A for backlight. Light will last 3 seconds.

TIME MODE

In Time Mode you can view time and calendar information.

  1. Press A until Time Mode (TME) is selected.
  2. Press D to alternate between time and calendar display.

TIME SETTING MODE .

  1. Press A until Time mode (TME) is selected.

  2. Press C for 3 seconds to enter Time Setting Mode. The Seconds will begin blinking as the first setting item. Press D to reset Seconds to 00

  3. Press B to change the setting item. Press C or D to adjust item.
    Press and hold D for fast setting.

  4. The setting sequence will be Second, Hour, Minute, Year, Month, Date, weekday, 12/24 hour.

  5. Press B to exit Time Setting.

COMPASS

It is recommended that Compass be calibrated prior to use (see Compass Calibration).

  1. To operate compass, press C in any mode.
  2. The direction at the 12 o’clock position will be detected and shown continuously for 10 seconds.
  3. Four flags will be displayed around the perimeter of the watch face with the singular one pointing North.
  4. Press and hold C. The direction will be detected and shown continuously for 10 more seconds after C is released.
  5. To exit compass mode, press B, and the watch will return back to the previous mode.

COMPASS CALIBRATION

It is recommended that calibration take place away from magnetic or electronic devices.

  1. Press C to select Compass mode.
  2. Press and hold A for 1 second until calibration (CAL) is selected.
  3. Holding the watch on a horizontal level, rotate the watch slowly for 2 complete rotations (take 15 seconds per rotation).
  4. Press A to adjust the declination angle (For declination angles, see chart below). Press D to adjust value of the blinking digit or Press A to end Calibration (declination angle will default at 00).
  5. Press B to select next digit or for E/W setting.
  6. Press A to end Calibration (End CAL).
  7. Press and hold C. The direction will be detected and shown continuously for 10 more seconds after C is released.
  8. To exit compass mode press B. Watch will return to the previous mode.

CHRONOGRAPH

  1. Press B until Chronograph (CHR) is selected.
  2. Press D to start Chronograph. A flag at the perimeter of the display will rotate clockwise. For the first hour the chronograph shows minutes and seconds in the middle row and 1/100th second in the bottom row. After the first hour, the chronograph then shows hours and minutes in the middle row and seconds in the bottom row.
  3. Press D to take a split time reading (SPL). Split time will be shown for about 10 seconds. The display will then return to showing the current running time of the chronograph.
  4. Press A to stop the chronograph. The flag at the perimeter of the display will stop rotating.
  5. Press D to restart the chronograph.
  6. Press A again to reset the chronograph back to zero.
  7. Press and hold B for 3 seconds to return directly to time mode (TME).

TIMER

  1. Press B until Timer (TMR) is selected.
  2. After 1 second, the timer function CDS, CDR, or CDU will be displayed (CDS = Countdown Stop, CDR = Countdown Repeat, CDU = Countdown Up). Hours and minutes are shown in the middle row, and seconds is shown in the bottom row.
  3. Press D to start the timer. A flag at the perimeter of the display will rotate counterclockwise while the timer is counting down.
  4. In Countdown Up (CDU) mode, the timer can count up to 24 hours and then will stop automatically.
  5. If the preset timer time is less than 30 seconds, the watch will beep for 1 second once the timer reaches zero. If the preset timer time is equal to or more than 30 seconds, the watch will beep for about 10 seconds once the timer reaches zero.
  6. Press any button to stop the beeping.
  7. If there is no button operation for 2-3 minutes in timer setting mode, the watch will return back to timer mode.
  8. Press A to stop the timer. The flag at the perimeter of the display will stop rotating. Press D to restart the timer, or press A again to reload the preset timer time.
  9. Press B to-exit timer Press and held B to return-directly tome (TME)

TIMER SETTING

  1. Press and hold A for 3 seconds to enter setting mode. The seconds digits will begin to flash.
  2. Press D to adjust the flashing digits. Press and hold D for fast setting.
  3. Press B to select the next digits for setting. The sequence is as follows: seconds, minutes, hour, CDS/CDR/CDU.
  4. To select between Countdown Stop (CDS), Countdown Repeat (CDR), or Countdown Up (CDU), press D.
  5. After all adjustments are complete, press A to exit timer setting mode.

ALARM

  1. Press B until Alarm (ALM) is selected.
  2. Press D to select between alarm or chime display. In alarm display, the hours and minutes will be shown. In chime display, only the minutes will be shown.
  3. When ON, the alarm sounds daily for 20 seconds. Press any button to stop the alarm sound.
  4. When the chime is ON, the watch will beep every hour. There will also be a button confirmation sound any time a button is pushed.
  5. Press B to exit Alarm.

ALARM SETTING

  1. In alarm time display, press and hold A for 3 seconds to enter setting mode. The hour digits will begin to flash, and the alarm will automatically be turned ON. The corresponding icon will be shown to the left of ALM at the 12 o’clock position, and the display will read ON.
  2. Press D to adjust the flashing digits. Press and hold D for fast setting.
  3. Press B to select the next digits for setting. The sequence is: hours, minutes.
  4. After all adjustments are complete, press A to exit the setting mode.
  5. Press and hold D for 2 seconds to turn the alarm OFF.
  6. In chime display, to turn the hourly chime ON, press and hold D for 2 seconds. The corresponding icon will be shown and the display will show ON.
  7. If there is no button operation for 2-3 minutes in alarm setting mode, the watch will return back to alarm mode.
    Press and hold D for 2 seconds again to turn the hourly chime OFF.

RESETTING THE WATCH

  1. Should you need to reset your watch, press all buttons simultaneously. All segments will be turned off. Once you release the buttons, the watch will be reset.
  2. After resetting, test patterns will be shown for a few seconds, and then, the display will return to normal

WARRANTY

BATTERY LIFE:
The battery in your Columbia watch is estimated to last 2 years, depending on frequency and use of certain features.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
Battery replacement must be performed by an authorized Columbia service center to retain a valid warranty. In addition to battery replacement, the service center will test movement, gaskets, water resilience and hardware, to further ensure the long-term care of your watch.

Keep watch batteries away from children. If swallowed, contact a doctor immediately.
WARNING! Batteries contain chemical substances.
They should be disposed of properly according to local regulations

Willowdale: 1OO meters
Escapade: 50 meters
ATTENTION: Water damage may occur if the buttons are pressed underwater
OPERATING TEMPERATURE: -5 to 50° Celsius

  1. Pull crown out from position 1 (normal position) to position 2.
  2. Rotate the crown until the current time is displayed.
  3. Return crown to position 1 (normal position) to start the watch.
