important safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
-
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
-
Avoid contacting moving parts. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
-
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or heating base in water or other liquid.
-
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
-
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Use oven mitts or allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
-
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
Return appliance to the manufacturer (see warranty) for examination, repair, or adjustment. -
Do not use outdoors.
-
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch heated surfaces.
-
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Do not attempt to service this
product. A retractable power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards
resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. AN EXTENSION CORD
MAY BE USED WITH CARE; HOWEVER, THE MARKED ELECTRICAL RATING SHOULD BE AT
LEAST AS GREAT AS THE ELECTRICAL RATING OF THE SLOW COOKER. The extension cord
should not be allowed to drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. If the plug fits loosely into
the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm do not use that outlet.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Some countertop and table surfaces are not designed to withstand the prolonged heat generated by certain appliances. Do not set the heated unit on a finished wood table. We recommend placing a hot pad or trivet under your slow cooker to prevent possible damage to the surface.
NOTE: During initial use of this appliance, some slight smoke and/or odor may be detected. This is normal with many heating appliances and will not recur after a few uses.
NOTE: Please use caution when placing your stoneware on a ceramic or smooth glass cook top stove, countertop, table, or other surface. Due to the nature of the stoneware, the rough bottom surface may scratch some surfaces if caution is not used. Always place protective padding under stoneware before setting on table or countertop.
iStir™ TECHNOLOGY does the stirring for you so you don’t have to! Digital pre-set control and automatic stirring provide you the convenience of preparing foods with perfect results, even if you’re not in the kitchen.

WARNING: DO NOT submerge Control Module in water or any other liquid.
-
WASH parts before using.
We recommend that you wash the Glass Lid and the Stirring Attachments thoroughly with warm, soapy water before the first use. -
ASSEMBLE stirring lid system.
Insert the Control Module into the Glass Lid, as shown, making sure that both sides of the Control Module are evenly locked down into place. Then select and attach your desired Stirring Attachment to the Attachment Arm on the bottom of the Module. (See Page 8 for more information about Stirring Attachment selection.)
*NOTE : If not using the stirring function then use the secondary lid attachment -
PLACE lid assembly on your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker.
Set the entire system (Glass Lid, Control Module and Stirring Attachment) on top of your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker stoneware, as you would do with a normal lid. ROTATE the lid clips over the stoneware to lock into place. -
CONNECT slow cooker power cord to the female end of the power cord.
This allows for only one wall outlet to be used for both the lid and the base unit. -
PLUG the stirring system cord (with the slow cooker cord) into a wall outlet.
*Never connect anything to the stirring system power cord other than an authentic Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker. Doing so can cause damage and will void your warranty. -
PRESS the POWER button on the Control Panel to initiate the stirring cycle.
The unit will first wait for 2 hours as your food begins to cook and soften, and then it will automatically stir for 5 minutes once every half-hour.
*The unit will continue the half-hour stir cycle until the POWER button is pressed again when you are finished with use.
At any time during the stirring cycle, you can press the PULSE button to manually begin 1 minute of automatic stirring. This will not interfere with the regular stirring cycle. -
REMOVE the stirring attachment after use and wash by hand or place in dishwasher.
The Stirring Attachments and Glass Lid are dishwasher-safe. The Control Module is not dishwasher-safe, and should only be wiped with a damp cloth for cleaning.
*See Page 10 for instructions on how to separate the component from the Glass Lid for cleaning purposes.

getting started
Preparing your Automatic Stirring System for use:
-
Before you use your unit, remove all packaging components and wash the Glass Lid and Stirring Attachments with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
-
Select your desired Stirring Attachment based on the type of recipe you are preparing, and attach it to the Stirring Arm by sliding the attachment onto the arm until you hear a “click”.
Use the General Purpose attachment for most soups, chilis, chowders, dips and thinner recipes. Use the Specialty attachment for thicker, denser recipes like stews, stroganoffs, etc. -
Place the unit on top of your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker by lowering it horizontally down onto the stoneware, just like you would do with a regular lid. There are integrated indentions located on the front and back of the handle for easy handling. Then, rotate the lid clips over the stoneware to lock into place.
WARNING: Ensure that the power cord does not fall into the slow cooker base or come in contact with any food during this step.
WARNING: Do not try to remove the Glass Lid assembly or lift the slow cooker when the lid clips are attached to the stoneware

Care and Cleaning:
-
Always turn off your Stirring System, unplug from the electrical outlet and allow to cool down prior to cleaning.
-
To remove Stirring Attachment from lid, grip the upper black plastic portion of the Stirring Attachment and pull firmly away from the lid until it disengages from the Attachment Arm.
-
The Glass Lid and both Stirring Attachments can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand with warm, soapy water.
-
Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds or scouring pads. A cloth, sponge or rubber spatula will usually remove residue.
-
To remove water spots and stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner or white vinegar.
-
The Glass Lid will not withstand any sudden temperature changes.
Do not wash the Glass Lid with cold water when it is hot. -
The Control Module may be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth when needed. Wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
CAUTION: Never immerse the Control Module in water or other liquids. No other servicing should be performed.
additional information
About Automatic Stirring Technology:
Our Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker Stirring technology does the stirring for you so
you don’t have to. Automatic stirring provides you with the convenience of
preparing foods with perfect results, even if you are not in the kitchen.
Simply prepare ingredients, set cook time and attach lid with the proper
stirring attachment in place. Once the POWER button on the lid has been
pressed, the unit will wait two hours for the food to soften and begin
cooking, and then it will automatically stir for 5 minutes once every half-
hour. This stirring cycle will continue until the POWER button has been
pressed again when you are done with use. Additionally, you can manually
request a 1-minute stir cycle at any time during the process by pressing the
Pulse button. This will not interfere with the regular half-hour stirring
cycle.
The paddles stir food while your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker cooks, so you can serve a delicious, appetizing, freshly prepared dish with confidence.
Choosing the Correct Stirring Attachment:
Only use the stirring attachments for softer foods and liquid based recipes
that require stirring. Use the General Purpose stirring attachment for most
soups, chilis, chowders, dips and thinner recipes. Use the Specialty
attachment for thicker, denser recipes like stews, stroganoffs, etc. The
Secondary Lid attachment (without stirring paddle) may be used when you are
cooking solid foods or recipes that do not require stirring.
Automatic Reverse Stirring:
The Automatic Stirring Attachments are built with special technology that will
cause the paddles to automatically reverse and stir in the opposite direction
when they meet too much resistance in the food contents. Please note that if
the food contents are too thick to stir, it will cause the Stirring Attachment
to constantly reverse directions, without completing a full spin rotation.
Built-in Safety Switch:
In the event you need to open the lid of your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker while
cooking is taking place, and during the automatic stirring cycle, the Control
Module has a built-in tilt safety switch that will pause the stirring cycle
while the lid is tilted, i.e. when you are holding it in your hand or have set
it upside down on the countertop. This operation will not turn off the unit,
nor will it interrupt the stirring cycle. Always use care when removing this
or any other lid from your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker appliance
