Product Usage Instructions

Pitcher Usage

  1. Unwrap the filter cartridge and place it in a glass of clean water. Allow the cartridge to soak for 15 minutes to flush out any loose carbon fines.
  2. Wash the pitcher, lid, and reservoir with soap and warm water, and rinse thoroughly. DO NOT wash the filter cartridge. The pitcher, reservoir, and lid are NOT dishwasher safe.
  3. Assemble the pitcher as shown in Figures 1-3: place the reservoir into the pitcher, then push the filter cartridge firmly into the reservoir to create a good seal.

Filtering Process

  1. Fill the reservoir with cold tap water and set the pitcher aside. Filtered water will begin to collect in the bottom of the pitcher. Continue to add water until the filtered water in the pitcher reaches the bottom of the reservoir. If black carbon fines are present in the filtered drinking water, it may be necessary to empty the first 1-2 pitchers of filtered water to flush out any remaining carbon fines.
  2. As a reminder to replace the filter cartridge, set the filter change reminder dial (located on top of the lid) to read two months from when you start using the pitcher filter. The filter cartridge should be replaced after every 50 gallons (100 pitcher fills), or approximately every 2 months.
  3. Keep the pitcher filter refrigerated at all times. After 3-4 days, replace unused water with fresh water.

Filter Cartridge Replacement

We recommend that you use ONLY the Culligan PR-1, PR-1U, PR-3, or PR-3U (three-pack) replacement filter cartridges with your Culligan pitcher filter. Other filter cartridges will not fit securely in the reservoir and may not filter water when used with this pitcher.

Replacement Cartridges: PR-1, PR-1U, PR-3, and PR-3U replacement filter cartridges. Please note that PR-1U and PR-3U are not available for sale in the state of California. To order, visit your local retail outlet or call Culligan Consumer Services at 1-888-777-7962.

NOTE:

  • The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water treatment device are not necessarily in your water.
  • Make certain that use complies with state and local laws and regulations.
