Specifications
- Low Wattage Model:
- Minimum load: 1.25A (300W at 240V)
- Maximum load: 7.4A (1750W at 240V)
- Rating includes a maximum 1/10 HP Inductive load.
- High Wattage Model:
- Minimum load: 5.0A (1200W at 240V)
- Maximum load: 16.7A (4000W at 240V)
- Rating includes a maximum 1/10 HP Inductive load.
Installation Instructions
WARNING: The installation of the thermostat must comply with the applicable local and/or National Electrical Codes and utility requirements. This installation should beentrusted to duly qualified personnel where required by law.
- Disconnect power supply to prevent electrical shock or product damage.
- Run line wiring from supply and heater to the thermostat location.
- Remove the front cover to access the mounting screws by grasping the cover by the sides and pulling it away from the thermostat base.
Single Pole Thermostats
- Connect the red LINE lead on the thermostat to the L1 line from the power supply panel.
- Connect the black LOAD lead from the thermostat to the line lead on the heater.
- Connect the N Neutral (or L2) line to the remaining line of the heater.
- Proceed to step 14.
Double Pole Thermostats
- Connect the black LOAD leads on the thermostat to the leads on the heater.
- Connect the red LINE leads on the thermostat to the line leads from the power supply panel.
- Proceed to step 14.
Double Pole Units Used in a Single Pole Application
- Connect the red LINE lead on the thermostat to the L1 line from the power supply panel.
- Connect the black LOAD lead from the thermostat to the line lead on the heater.
- Connect the N Neutral (or L2) line to the remaining line of the heater.
- Secure the ground wire to the ground screw provided in the outlet box.
- Ensure that all connections are tight.
- Insert wires into the outlet box taking care not to damage the sensing device or wiring.
- Mount the thermostat base into the wall box and secure using the two supplied screws, taking care not to over tighten.
- Replace the thermostat cover.
Changing The Control Dial Scale
- Remove the control dial knob.
- Ensure the dial is pulled out to the ON position.
- By inserting a small flat head screwdriver, gently lift the control dial to remove the center cover and scale.

- How should I dispose of the product at the end of its useful life?
The product should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice in your country.

Installation Instructions

- Ensure that all wiring connections to the thermostat are correct and tight to prevent electrical shorts. Use the appropriate wire to meet local and national electrical codes for rated power consumption.
- Disconnect power supply to prevent electrical shock or 1. product damage.
- Run line wiring from supply and heater to the thermostat 2. location.
- Remove the front cover to access the mounting screws 3. by grasping the cover by the sides and pulling it away from the thermostat base
For single pole thermostats continue with step 4 and for double pole thermostats skip to step 8. It is also possible to use a double pole unit in a single pole application. Please see step 11 for instructions.
Single Pole
- Connect the red LINE lead on the thermostat to the L1 4. line from the power supply panel.
- Connect the black LOAD lead from the thermostat to the 5. line lead on the heater.
- Connect the N Neutral (or L2) line to the remaining line of 6. the heater.
- Proceed to step 14.7
Double Pole
- Connect the black LOAD leads on the thermostat to the 8. leads on the heater.
- Connect the red LINE leads on the thermostat to the line 9. leads from the power supply panel.
- Proceed to step 14.10
Double pole units used in a single pole application:
- Connect the 11. red LINE lead on the thermostat to the L1 line from the power supply panel.
- Connect the black LOAD lead from the thermostat to the line lead on the heater.
- Connect the N Neutral (or L2) line to the remaining line of the heater.
- Secure the ground wire to the ground screw provided in the outlet box.
- Ensure that all connections are tight.
- Insert wires into the outlet box taking care not to damage the sensing device or wiring.
- Mount the thermostat base into the wall box and secure using the two supplied screws, taking care not to over tighten.
- Replace the thermostat cover. changing the control dial scale
Remove the control dial knob.
- Ensure the dial is pulled out to the “ON” position.
- By inserting a small flat head screwdriver, gently lift the control dial to remove the center cover and scale ring.
- Select the scale ring you wish to use. Your thermostat comes with both the Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scale rings.
- Take the scale ring, and align the three locking tabs with the three cutouts on the center cover.
- Line up the key slot on the center cover to the key on the dial base and ensuring the three tabs on the scale ring are correctly positioned, click the components into place.
Operation
- To turn the thermostat control on pull the knob out, and push in to turn off. To adjust the temperature to your individual requirements, turn the thermostat control clockwise to increase and counter-clockwise to decrease the temperature setting.
- Turning the knob fully counter clockwise in the “ON” position will set the temperature rating to 5°C (41°F) triggering the Frost Guard.
Warranty
LIMITED WARRANTY
All Dimplex Thermostats are warranted against defects in workmanship and
materials for five years from date of sale. This warranty does not apply to
damage from accident, misuse, or alteration, nor where the connected voltage
is more that 5 % above the nameplate voltage, nor to equipment improperly
installed or wired or maintained in violation of the instruction sheet. This
limited warranty applies only to purchases made in any province of Canada
except for Yukon Territory, Nunavut, or Northwest Territories or in any of the
50 States of the USA (and the District of Columbia) except for Hawaii and
Alaska. This limited warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product
only and is not transferable. No other written or oral warranty applies. No
employee, agent, dealer or other person is authorized to give any warranties
on behalf of Dimplex. The customer shall be responsible for all costs incurred
in the removal or reinstallation and shipping of the product for repairs.
Within the limitations of this warranty, inoperative units shall be returned
to the nearest Dimplex authorized service center, and we shall repair or
replace, at our option, at no charge to you with return freight paid be
Dimplex. It is agreed that such repair or replacement is the exclusive remedy
available from Dimplex and that DIMPLEX IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY
KIND, INCLUDING INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE. Some States do not allow
the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so the above exclusion
or limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal
rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
