OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Checking the alternator function
Connect the pole clamp of the red cable to the plus pole and the pole clamp of the black cable to the minus pole of your vehicle battery. Switch the light, radio and other electrical consumers off and start the motor. The green “GUT” (good) check light will light up if the alternator is working correctly at idle revolutions and at higher motor revolutions. Now switch the light and a number of heavy consumers, such as ventilation, screen heaters etc. on. If the alternator is working correctly the green check light “GUT” (good) will be lit up.
If the red “DEFEKT” check light is now lit, the charge voltage of the alternator is too low or too high. If this is the case, seek out a specialist workshop.
Remove the battery tester from your vehicle battery.

Checking the charge state of the battery
With the motor switched off, switch on the light and a number of other heavy electrical consumers for around 2 minutes. Wait for 10 minutes and connect the battery tester to the vehicle battery. Depending on the charge state of the battery, the check lights green “VOLL GELADEN” (fully charged), yellow “HALB VOLL” (half full) or red “SEHR WENIG GELADEN” (very low charge) will light up.
Remove the battery tester from your vehicle battery once you have performed the check.

Checking the charge state of the battery when starting
For this battery check, you will need the assistance of a second person. Switch the motor off. Connect the battery tester to the vehicle battery as described above. Get your assistant to start the motor while you observe the battery tester. If the green signal lamp “BATTERIE OK” starts to light up, the charge state of the battery is fine. Switch the motor back off and remove the battery tester from the battery.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Only clean the housing with a soft cloth, if necessary, lightly dampened. Use only ordinary washing-up liquid as cleaner. Do not use an aggressive cleaner.
Store the battery tester indoors in a location that is dry and protected from dust and dirt. Store the device out of the reach of children.
