Note to CATV System Installer
This reminder is provided to direct the CATV system installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.
Secure Ventilation
Slots and openings in the cabinet and the back or bottom are provided for ventilation, and to ensure reliable operation of the TV and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. There should be at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space around the TV. The openings should never be blocked by placing the TV on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This TV should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase unless proper ventilation is provided.

7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

11. Only use attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart / apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
    Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

15. Operate only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supplied to your home, consult your television dealer or local power company.

16. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the TV.

17. Never push objects of any kind into this TV through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the TV.

18. If an outside antenna is connected to the television equipment, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static charges. In the U.S. Section 810-21 of the National Electrical Code provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.

19. An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines, other electric light, power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.

20. Unplug this TV from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
    a. When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
    b. If liquid has been spilled into the TV.
    c. If the TV has been exposed to rain or water.
    d. If the TV does not operate normally by following the operating instructions.
    Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the TV to normal operation.
    e. If the TV has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.
    f. When the TV exhibits a distinct change in performance – this indicates a need for service.

21. When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement parts specified by the manufacturer that have the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.

28. CAUTION:
    The Power switch on this unit will not completely shut off all power from AC outlet. Since the power cord serves as the main disconnect device for the unit, you will need to unplug it from the AC outlet to shut down all power.
    Therefore, make sure the unit has been installed so that the power cord can be easily unplugged from AC outlet in case of an accident. To avoid fire hazard, the power cord should also be unplugged from the AC outlet when left unused for a long period of time (for example, when on vacation).

Installing the remote’s batteries Caution

• Incorrect installation may cause battery leakage and corrosion, resulting in damage to the remote control.
  – Do not mix old and new batteries.
  – Do not mix different battery types (such as alkaline and manganese batteries).
  – Do not use rechargeable (Ni-Cd) batteries.

• Do not burn or break batteries.

Attaching the pedestal to TV
Warning
Do not disassemble or modify the pedestal.

• Otherwise, the TV may fall over and become damaged, and personal injury may result.
  Caution
  Do not use any pedestal other than that provided with this TV.

• Otherwise, the TV may fall over and become damaged, and personal injury may result.
  Do not use the pedestal if it becomes warped or physically damaged.

• If you use the pedestal when it is physically damaged, personal injury may result. Contact your nearest Panasonic Dealer immediately.
  During set-up, make sure that all screws are securely tightened.

• If sufficient care is not taken to ensure screws are properly tightened during assembly, the pedestal will not be strong enough to support the TV, and it might fall over and become damaged, and personal injury may result.
  When removing the pedestal, do not remove the pedestal by any methods other than the specified procedure. (p. 9)

Removing the pedestal from the TV
Be sure to remove the pedestal in the following way when using the wall- hanging bracket or repacking the TV.

1. Lay the TV on a foam mat or thick soft cloth on a table (32” class only).
2. Remove the assembly screws B from the TV.
3. Pull out the pedestal from the TV.
4. Remove the assembly screws A from the bracket.

Warning

• Always be sure to ask a qualified technician to carry out set-up.

• ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee):
  Digital TV Standards include digital high-definition television (HDTV), standard-definition television (SDTV), data broadcasting, multi-channel surround sound audio and interactive television.
  Cable

• You need to subscribe to a cable TV service to enjoy viewing their programming.

• You may need to subscribe to a high-definition (HD) cable service to enjoy HD programming. The connection for high-definition can be done with the use of an HDMI or Component Video cable (p. 11).
  Note

• When using a Cable box, external equipment and video cables shown in this manual are not supplied with the TV.

• When disconnecting the power cord, be absolutely sure to disconnect the power cord plug from the wa outlet first.

• If the antenna is placed in the wrong location, interference might happen.

AV / Game equipment
■ Using HDMI terminal
(Set-top-box / DVD recorder / Blu-ray Disc player / Camcorder / etc.)

• You can also make similar connection via HDMI 2.
• If you are using HDMI-DVI conversion cable, connect as shown below:

■ Using COMPONENT terminals
(DVD recorder / Blu-ray Disc player / etc.) ■ Using COMPOSITE terminals
(Camcorder / Game system / DVD recorder / etc.) Speaker system

• Use HDMI 2 for connecting an amplifier that has ARC  (Audio Return Channel) function. As for an amplifier without ARC function, use DIGITAL AUDIO OUT.
• To enjoy the sound from the external equipment in multi-channel sound (e.g. Dolby Digital 5.1ch), connect the equipment to the amplifier. For the connections, read the manuals of the equipment and amplifier.

First Time Setup

When you first turn on the TV, a series of steps will popup to guide you to setup your TV.

• These steps are not necessary if the setup has been completed by your local dealer.

1. Plug the power cord into the socket outlet

2. Turn the TV on with the POWER button

3. Select your language

4. Select [Home use] ● [Store demonstration] is for shop display.
   ● To display the [Set viewing mode] screen again as shown above and select [Home use], perform [Reset to defaults] in the [Setup] menu (p. 21).
   If you perform [Reset to defaults], please do not unplug the AC Cord while the TV is being reset.

5. Select ANTENNA/Cable setup method Do you use a Cable, Satellite or Fiber Optic box with this TV?If you select [Yes], select the wiring method used to connect your box to the TV.If you select [No], select the signal type.

6. Select [Auto program] and start scanning

First Time Setup completes when scanning is done.To watch TV via a Cable box, Satellite receiver, or any other source (DVD, DVR, gaming device, etc.), press the INPUT button and select the appropriate input (p. 15).
Note

• If you turn off the TV by pulling out the power cord before completing “First Time Setup”, “First Time Setup” will launch again when you next turn on the TV.
  On the other hand, if you turn off the TV with the POWER button on the TV or remote control, this procedure will not launch again on your next power on.

• You can repeat “First Time Setup” by selecting [Reset to defaults] in the [Setup] menu (p. 21).

• After “First Time Setup”, you can change [Language] from the [Setup] menu (p. 21) or retune the TV using [Auto program] or [Manual program] (p. 22).

Operating the TV

Using the TV controls

1. Changes the input mode
   Chooses Menu and Submenu entries Press and hold for 3 seconds for MENU function
   ● Press again and hold for 3 seconds to return to the previous screen from submenus / exit from main menu page.

2. Selects channels in sequence
   Makes selections or adjustments when in the menu system

3. Volume Up / Down
   Makes selections or adjustments when in the menu system.

4. Power button
   ● Switches TV On or Off (Standby).
   ● To completely turn off the TV, remove the power plug from the wall socket.

5. Remote control signal receiver
   ● Remote control sensor range is about 23 feet (7 meters) in front of the TV set.

6. Power LED
   ● On: Red
   Off: No light
   ● The TV consumes a small amount of electric energy even when turned off.

Note

• Do not place any objects between the TV remote control signal receiver and remote control.

Using the remote control

1. Switches TV On or Off (Standby)

4. Sets the sleep timer
   ● [Off / 15 / 30 / 60 / 90 minutes] ● After the set time elapsed, the TV will turn to standby automatically.

    ● Contact your Cable or Satellite operator for instructions on enabling CC with their box.
    ● Closed Caption settings are memorized in [Closed caption] of [Setup] menu (p. 21).

14. Selects the Audio mode for watching TV
    ● Digital mode: Selects next Audio track (if available) when receiving a digital channel.
    ● Analog mode: Selects the desired Audio mode [Stereo / SAP / Mono] ● Not available when watching TV with a Cable or Satellite box connected via HDMI.
    ● To set desired Audio for all channels “[Audio language]” (p. 20).

15. Input mode selection
    ● Display [Input select] screen (p. 15) or press repeatedly to select the input mode.

Favorite Channels

You can add your favorite channels in the [Favorite list] for easy channel selection.
Creating Favorite list

1. While viewing the channel that you want to set, display [Favorite list]
2. Select an empty slot and register the channel

Note

• You can set up to 10 channels as Favorite.
• You cannot save a new channel in a used slot. If you want to change your Favorite channel, first delete the existing channel ( below), then save the new channel in the empty slot.

Using Media Player

Media Player allows you to enjoy photo or music recorded on a USB Flash Memory.

• During the operation, audio signal is output from DIGITAL AUDIO OUT and HDMI 2 (ARC function) terminals. To use HDMI 2 with ARC function, connect an amplifier that has ARC function and set to use theatre speakers.
• The picture may not appear correctly on this TV depending on the digital cameras used.
• Display may take some time when there are many files and folders in the USB Flash Memory.
• Partly degraded files might be displayed at a reduced resolution.
• The folder and file names may be different depending on the digital camera used.

Inserting / Removing the USB Flash Memory

1. Insert the USB Flash Memory (p. 16)
2. Start Media Player
3. Select the mode

[Photos]: Displays the thumbnail of all photos in the USB Flash Memory.

Picture
[Reset to defaults] Resets all picture adjustments to factory default settings.

• Press OK to proceed.

[Picture mode] Sets the picture mode for each input.
[Vivid]: Provides enhanced picture contrast and sharpness for viewing in a well-lit room.
[Standard]: Recommended for normal viewing conditions with subdued room lighting.
[Cinema]: For watching movies in a darkened room. It provides a soft, film- like picture.
[Game]: For playing video games.
[Custom (Photo)]: Customizes each item according to your preference. [Photo] is displayed in JPEG menu (full screen).
[Back light] Adjusts the luminance of the back light.
[Contrast], [Brightness], [Color], [Tint],
[Sharpness] Adjusts these items for each picture mode to suit your preferences.
[Color temp.] Selects a choice of Cool (blue), Normal, or Warm (red) color. [Cool / Normal / Warm] [A.I. picture] Controls dark areas without affecting the black level or brightness in the overall picture. [Off / On] [Video NR] Reduces noise, commonly called snow. Leave it off when receiving a strong signal. [Off / Weak / Medium /

[FULL / 4:3 / JUST / ZOOM / H-FILL] – [HD size]: Selects the scanning area with Highdefinition signal. [Size 1 / Size 2]

• [Size 1]: Scanning 95 % (select [Size 1] if noise is generated on the edges of the screen).

• [Size 2]: Scanning 100 %

• Available when the input signal is HD.
  – [H size]: Adjusts the horizontal display range to reduce noise of both side edges of an image. [Size 1 / Size 2 ]

• Available when the input signal is SD.

• [Size 2]: Adjusts the image size according to the aspect mode to reduce noise (p. 25).
  – [Zoom adjustments]: Adjusts vertical image position and size. [V-position / V-size]

• [V-position]: Vertical position adjustment

• [V-size]: Vertical size adjustment

• Available when aspect setting is [Zoom].

Sound
[Reset to defaults] Resets all audio adjustments to factory default settings.

• Press OK to proceed.

[Sound mode] Sets your favorite sound mode.
[Music]1 : Improves sound quality for watching music videos, etc.
[Speech]1 : Improves sound quality for watching news, drama, etc.
[User]*2 : Adjusts the sounds manually by using the equalizer.
In [Music] and [Speech] modes, you can adjust the [Bass] and [Treble] settings, and those settings will be stored for each mode.
When you select [User] mode, [Equalizer] is active instead of [Bass] and [Treble].
[Bass] / [Treble] Adjusts the level of bass/treble effect respectively.
[Equalizer]
Adjusts the frequency level to suit your favorite sound quality

• Available when [Sound mode] is set to [User].
• Select the frequency and change the frequency level by using the cursor buttons.
• To enhance the bass sound, raise the level of the lower frequency. To enhance the treble sound, raise the level of the higher frequency.
• To reset the levels of each frequency to the default settings, select [Reset to Defaults] by using the cursor button, and then press OK.

[Balance]
Adjusts the left / right speaker volume.
[Surround]
Enhances audio left / right response when listening to stereo. [Off / On] [TV speakers]
Lets you switch the TV speaker off/on when using external speakers. [Off / On]

• When you set to [Off ], [Surround], [Bass], [Treble] and
  [Balance] are not available.

[Digital audio out]
Selects the initial setting for digital audio output signal from DIGITAL AUDIO OUT and HDMI 2 (ARC function) terminals.
[Auto]: Dolby Digital is output as Dolby Digital Bitstream. MPEG is output as PCM.
[PCM]: Digital output signal is fixed to PCM.

• When the TV receives NTSC signal, the output is PCM.
• For Digital TV or video contents of Media Player. [Audio input] Selects to fit the input signal.

■ [HDMI1-2 in] [Digital]: When sound is carried via the HDMI cable connection.
[Analog]: When sound is not carried via the HDMI-DVI adaptor cable connection.

Lock
You will be asked to enter your password each time you display the [Lock] menu.
[Password] Input your 4-digit password.

• Enter “1234” for the first time. This is the default password.
• To change the password “[Change password]” (p. 20)
• Make a note of your password in case you would forget it. If you have forgotten your password, consult your local dealer.
• When you select a locked channel, a message will be displayed that allows you to view the channel after you input your password.

[Mode]
Selects lock mode.
[Custom]: Locks specified settings of [Channel], [Program] and [Inputs].
[Off]: Unlocks all the Lock settings of [Channel], [Program] and [Inputs].
[All]: Locks all the inputs regardless of the Lock settings of [Channel], [Program] and [Inputs].
[Channel]
Selects channel to lock.

• The selected channels will be blocked regardless of the program rating.

[Program]
Sets rating level.
[Mode]: Sets program lock status. [Off / On] – “V-chip” technology enables restricted shows to lock according to TV ratings.
– [On]: Sets each rating level (U.S.TV Ratings, U.S.
Movie Ratings, C.E.L.R., C.F.L.R.)

Changes the password.

• Input the new 4-digit password, then input again to confirm.

• The Off rating is independent of other ratings.

• When placing a lock on a specific-age-based-rating level, the Off rating and any other more restrictive ratings will also be blocked.

[Closed caption]
This TV includes a built-in decoder that is capable of providing a text display of the audio. The program being viewed must be transmitting Closed Caption (CC) information (p. 27).
The settings in “Analog” or “Digital” depend on the broadcaster.
■ [Analog closed caption] Selects the Closed Caption service of Analog broadcasting. [Off / CC1-4 / TEXT1-4] – [CC1-4]: Information related to pictures (appears at the bottom of the screen).

[HDMI control]
■ [CEC function] Sets how the TV responds when you operate an HDMI connected equipment. [Off / On] – [On]: The TV will automatically switch to the appropriate HDMI input whenever an HDMI connected equipment is initially turned on and the Play mode is selected.
■ [Power off link] Sets how an HDMI connected equipment responds when you turn off the TV. [No / Yes] – [Yes]: When the TV is turned off, all HDMI connected equipment is also automatically turned off.

• A Panasonic DVD Recorder will not turn off if it is still in Rec mode.
• The TV remains on even if the HDMI connected equipment is turned off.

[About] Displays TV version and software license.
[Reset to defaults] Performing reset will clear all settings made in the [Setup] menu, such as channel settings.
After reset, “First Time Setup” will launch when you next power on the TV (p. 12).

Auto Program

This function lets you retune and add all available channels to the channel list automatically.
Before performing this function, be sure to set

HDMI connection
This TV incorporates HDMI™ technology. HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) is the world’s first complete digital consumer AV interface complying with a non-compression standard.
HDMI allows you to enjoy high-definition digital images and high-quality sound by connecting the TV and the equipment.
■ Applicable HDMI features

DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal
You can enjoy your Home theater by connecting a Dolby Digital (5.1 channel) decoder and “Multi Channel” amplifier to the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminals.
Caution

• Depending on your DVD player and DVD-Audio software, the copyright protection function may operate and disable optical output.

Closed Caption (CC)

• For viewing the CC of digital broadcasting, set the aspect to [FULL]. (If viewing with [H-FILL], [JUST], [ZOOM] or [4:3]; characters might be cut off).
• The CC can be displayed on the TV only when the receiver (such as a Cable box or satellite receiver) has the CC set to “On” within the device itself. Check with your Cable or Satellite provider for instructions.
• If the CC is set to “On” on both the receiver and TV when the signal is 480i (except for the HDMI connection), the CC may overlap on the TV.
• If a digital program is being output in analog format, the CC data will also be output in analog format.
• If the recorder or output monitor is connected to the TV, the CC needs to be set up on the recorder or output monitor.

Maintenance

First, unplug the power cord plug from the wall outlet.

Wipe the plug with a dry cloth at regular intervals.
(Moisture and dust can lead to fire or electrical shock.)
Display panel
The front of the display panel has been specially treated. Wipe the panel surface gently, using only a cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth.

• If the surface is particularly dirty, soak a soft, lint-free cloth in diluted, mild liquid dish soap (1 part mild liquid dish soap diluted by 100 times the amount of water) and then wring the cloth to remove excess liquid. Use this cloth to wipe the surface of the display panel, then wipe it evenly with a dry cloth of the same type until the surface is dry.
• Do not scratch or hit the surface of the panel with fingernails or other hard objects. Furthermore, avoid contact with volatile substances such as insect sprays, solvents, and thinner; otherwise, the quality of the surface may be adversely affected.

Cabinet
If the cabinet becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.

• If the cabinet is particularly dirty, soak the cloth in diluted, mild liquid dish soap and then wring the cloth dry. Use this cloth to wipe the cabinet and then wipe it dry with a dry cloth.
• Do not allow any mild liquid dish soap to come into direct contact with the surface of the TV. If water droplets get inside the unit, operating problems may result.
• Avoid contact with volatile substances such as insect sprays, solvents, and thinner; otherwise, the quality of the cabinet surface may be adversely affected or the coating may peel off.
• Do not let articles made from rubber or PVC be in contact with the TV for long periods of time.

Pedestal

• Wipe the surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. If the unit is particularly dirty, clean it using a cloth soaked with water to which a small amount of mild liquid dish soap has been added and then wipe with a dry cloth.
  Do not use products such as solvents, thinner, or household wax for cleaning, as they can damage the surface coating. (If using a chemically-treated cloth, follow the instructions supplied with the cloth.)

• Do not attach sticky tape or labels, as they can make the surface of the pedestal dirty. Do not allow longterm contact with rubber, vinyl products, or the like. (Doing so will cause deterioration.)

Troubleshooting

Before requesting service or assistance, please follow these simple guides to resolve the problem.
If an error message appears, follow the message’s instructions.
If the problem still persists, please contact your local Panasonic dealer for assistance.
Picture
Why is there no picture or just a blue, black or snowy screen being displayed?
Check if the power cord is plugged in and the TV is turned on (front red LED light should be on; not blinking).
Press the INPUT button on the remote control to select the correct input source.
Ensure all connections are correct and secure.
When using external video source, such as a Cable/ Satellite box or DVD player, check that the device is on and functioning correctly.
Press MENU on the remote control. If the menu is displayed, then the TV is working; recheck above steps.
Why doesn’t the picture look like it is in HighDefinition?
Press INFO on the remote control to confirm the type of signal being received. HD signal should be 720p, 1080i or 1080p.
Select a High-Definition channel from your HD source (Cable, Satellite or fiber optic service). HD channels sometimes broadcast non-HD content.
Ensure that your HD source (HD box, Blu-ray player, etc.) is connected to the TV with an HDMI or COMPONENT cable and set to output an HD video signal.
Why do black bars appear on the top and bottom and/or sides of the screen?
Change the format (aspect ratio) of the picture by pressing FORMAT on the remote control (p. 14).
Check the aspect settings on your external video source, such as Cable/Satellite box, DVD/Blu-ray Disc player, etc.
Note: Some content, such as film-based movies, are available in extra-wide format. Top and bottom bars are unavoidable.
Why is the picture snowy when [ANTENNA/Cable In] is selected?
When using a cable service (without a box), check that all connections are secure.
When using a cable or satellite box, change the connection to COMPOSITE, COMPONENT or HDMI (p. 11).
If you’re using an antenna, then check that connections are secure. Change the position or direction of the antenna and check the [Signal meter] (p. 14).
Why is the picture chaotic and/or torn and/or with a buzz in the speakers?
Check if electrical products such as kitchen appliances, fluorescent lights or light dimmers are nearby. They may interfere with the TV’s picture.
Try viewing a picture from another device, such as a DVD player or a game console, to narrow down the source of the problem.
Why is there a black box on the screen?
Change settings of Closed Caption (CC) (p. 14, 27).
Why is the screen blank and the power indicator blinking?
The TV has gone into shutdown mode to protect itself. Try unplugging it for a few minutes and connecting it again. If there was a temporary power surge on the AC line it may now be OK. If the blinking returns, visit www.panasonic.com/support (U.S.A.) or www.panasonic.ca/english/support (Canada).
Why do some small spots on the screen remain bright or dark?
The TV panel is made up of a few million pixels and is produced with advanced technology through an intricate process. Sometimes a few pixels may be bright or dark. These pixels do not indicate a defective panel and will have no impact on the performance of the TV.

Sound
Why is there no sound coming from the TV?
Make sure the volume is up and MUTE is off.
Check that the correct SAP (Secondary Audio  Program) is selected by pressing SAP on the remote control (p. 14).
If the TV is connected to a Home Theater via optical cable, then: Check the connection, the audio system is on, the correct input is selected.
Check [HDMI1-2 in] analog/digital audio settings (p. 19).
Why is the sound unusual, distorted, low volume or in another language?
Check that the correct SAP (Secondary Audio Program) is selected by pressing SAP on the remote control (p. 14).
Check that all connections of external equipment connected to the TV are secure.
When using Cable or Satellite box, check the device’s audio settings (example: try changing the box’s Audio Range to “narrow”).
Why is there a clicking, ticking or buzzing sound coming from the TV unit?
When TV power is turned on or shut off there are electrical components that make a click sound. This is normal.
Changes in the temperature and humidity of the room may cause thermal expansion and contraction that can produce sounds. This is not a sign of faulty operation or a malfunction.
Other
Why does the CC button not display Closed Caption?
When viewing TV via an HDMI connected device, such as a Cable or Satellite box, CC must be enabled at the device.
Closed Caption is available only at supported TV programming.
Why do parts of the TV become hot?
The main unit radiates heat and some of the parts may become hot. Even if the temperature of parts of the front, top and rear panels has risen, these temperature rises do not cause any problems in terms of performance or quality.
Ensure good ventilation.
Do not block the ventilation holes of the TV and do not place the TV on top of other equipment.
Why doesn’t the Remote Control work?
Check that the batteries are fresh, are of the same type and are installed with the correct polarity (+ and −).
To operate other devices, such as changing channels when using Cable or Satellite boxes or operating non-Panasonic Blu-ray players, use the remote control of the devices.

Panasonic Television Limited Warranty
Limited Warranty Coverage
If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship, Panasonic Corporation of North America (referred to as “the warrantor”) will, for the length of the period indicated on the chart below, which starts with the date of original  purchase (“Limited Warranty period”), at its option either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts, (b) replace it with a new or a refurbished equivalent value product, or (c) refund your purchase price. The decision to repair, replace or refund will be made by the warrantor.

During the “Labor” Limited Warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During the “Parts” Limited Warranty period, there will be no charge for parts.
You must carry-in your product or arrange for on-site service during the Limited Warranty period. If non-rechargeable batteries are included, they are not warranted. This Limited Warranty only applies to products purchased and serviced in the United States or Puerto Rico. This Limited Warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of a new product which was not sold “as is”. A purchase receipt or other proof of the original purchase date is required for Limited Warranty service.

On-site service where applicable requires clear, complete and easy access to the product by the authorized servicer and does not include removal or re- installation of an installed product. It is possible that certain on-site repairs will not be completed on-site, but will require that the product or parts of the product, at the servicer’s discretion be removed for shop diagnosis and/or repair and then returned.
When shipping the unit, carefully pack, include all accessories, and send it prepaid, adequately insured and preferably in the original carton. When shipping Lithium Ion batteries please visit our Web Site at www.panasonic.com/BatteryHandling as Panasonic is committed to providing the most up to date information. Include a letter detailing the complaint, a return address and provide a daytime phone number where you can be reached. A valid registered receipt is required under the Limited Warranty.
Limited Warranty Limits And Exclusions
This Limited Warranty ONLY COVERS failures due to defects in materials or workmanship, and DOES NOT COVER normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage, nor does it cover markings or retained images on the glass panel resulting from viewing fixed images (including, among other things, non-expanded standard 4:3 pictures on wide screen TVs, or onscreen data in a stationary and fixed location such as network logos, video games and banners). The Limited Warranty ALSO DOES NOT COVER damages which occurred in shipment, or failures which are caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures which result from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, bug infestation, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, faulty installation, set-up adjustments, misadjustment of consumer controls, improper maintenance, power line surge, lightning damage, modification, or commercial use (such as in a hotel, office, restaurant, or other business), rental use of the product, service by anyone other than a Factory Service Center or other Authorized Servicer, or damage that is attributable to acts of God.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES EXCEPT AS LISTED UNDER “LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE”.
