Installation and Operation

  1. The power conditioner is the perfect accessorie for any rack mount system. Install it in the top slot of a standard 19-inch rack, and the 8 switched AC outlets on the rear panel will provide full safety protection to all your rack equipment. The conditioner protects your delicate electronic equipment by combining a high voltage varistor surge and transient suppressor with an RFI/EMI interference filter. The filter helps prevent noise from fluorescent lights, motors, and similar sources of “electronic pollution” from contaminating the AC feed to your sensitive video, audio, tr or computer circuit.
  2. Plug power cord (8) inlet into a standard grounded 120V outlet with power cord. (120V unit) Plug power cord (8) inlet into a standard grounded 230V outlet with power cord. (230V unit)
  3. Plug sensitive electronic equipment into the 8 rear panel outlets (10).
  4. Turn outlet power switch (7) to “ON” position. Lit LED indicates conditioned power to the connected equipment.
  5. For discreet illumination of your rack equipment on stage, in studios and in other dark locations, pull the 2 retractable rack lights (3) out and adjust the dimmer control (2) for the lamp brightness desired (see Fig.2 below). The lights swivel and can be adjust to the proper angle for your appli-cation. The lamps are supplied with standard 5W/120V (120V unit) or 7W/230V (230V unit) night-light bulbs. If you find the heat from the bulbs excessive, reduce the setting of the dimmer control or substitute lesser wattage bulbs. You can easily replace the bulbs without removing the unit from the rack by unscrewing the cap on the end of each light tube. (Note: Be careful not to push the tubes on while the caps are unscrewed.)
  6. The digital voltmeter readout (4) is calibrated to a nominal 120VAC (120V unit) or 230VAC (230V unit) at the factory no adjustments are necessary.
  7. The digital voltmeter readout (4) automatically displays output voltage when the appliance inlet (8) is connected.
  8. The digital current-meter readout (7) displays the range at 0~15 amps (120V unit) or 0 ~10 amps (230V unit).
  9. MAXIMUM LOAD: The power conditioner 8 rear panel outlets, are rated at 15 amps (120V unit) or 10 amps (230V unit) total load. If this maximum load is exceeded, the circuit breaker (9) will trip, cutting off power to all connected equipment in your rack. If this happens, reduce the load by unplugging one or more units from the power conditioner, and push the circuit breaker to reset it. (see fig. 3 below)
