Product Usage Instructions

Chemical Dispenser Drawer and Parts

  1. 1. To remove the chemical dispenser drawer, pull the drawer out as far as it will go.
  2. Press the release tab down in the top left back corner with a flat-blade screwdriver.

  3. Pull the drawer out of the washer.

  4. To remove the chemical cup insert for cleaning, lift it out of the chemical drawer.

  5. To remove the locking tab, unclip it from the slots in the top left back corner of the chemical dispenser drawer. To reinstall it, clip it into the slots.

  6. To remove the front decorative plate, remove four T-20 security sheet metal screws.

TECH TIP

  • The chemical dispenser drawer decorative front plate is secured with sheet metal screws. The facia is secured with machine screws. Avoid interchanging these screws.
  • The front of the chemical dispenser drawer is called the handle, and it can come off if pulled too hard. To reinstall the handle, straighten the tabs, hook the top 3 tabs onto the drawer and rotate the front down to engage the 3 tabs at the bottom into the slots of the drawer.

Facia and Control Panel Cover

Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing. Replace all parts and panels before operating. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power.

  2. Turn off the water supply to the washer.

  3. Remove four T-20 security machine screws from the front of the facia. Remove the chemical dispenser drawer from the washer.

  4. Remove two T-20 security sheet metal screws, that were hidden by the chemical dispenser drawer, at the left end of the control panel.

  5. Pull the control panel cover, facia, and display lens off the washer.

  6. Depress the clips at the edges of the display lens on the back side of the control panel cover. Remove the snap-in lens from the front of the control panel cover.
    NOTE To avoid damage, lay a towel, or another covering, on the washer top and place removed hardware and tools on the covering.

  7. The facia is secured to the control panel and covered with double-stick tape. Press the back of the facia, away from the control panel cover, to release the tapes a flat-blade screwdriver, if necessary, to pry the facia away from the control panel cover.

CHEMICAL DISPENSER DRAWER AND PARTS

  1. To remove the chemical dispenser drawer, pull the drawer out as far as it will go.
  2. Press the release tab down in the top left back corner with a flat-blade screwdriver.
  3. Pull the drawer out of the washer.
  4. To remove the chemical cup insert for cleaning, lift it out of the chemical drawer.

FACIA AND CONTROL PANEL COVER

WARNING

****Electrical Shock Hazard Disconnect power before servicing. Replace all parts and panels before operating. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power.

  2. Turn off the water supply to the washer.

  3. Remove four T-20 security machine screws from the front of the facia.

  4. Remove the chemical dispenser drawer from the washer.

  5. Remove two T-20 security sheet metal screws, that were hidden by the chemical dispenser drawer, at the left end of the control panel.

  6. Pull the control panel cover, facia, and display lens off the washer.

  7. Depress the clips at the edges of the display lens on the back side of the control panel cover. Remove the snap-in lens from the front of the control panel cover. NOTE
    To avoid damage, lay a towel, or another covering, on the washer top and place removed hardware and tools on the covering.

  8. The facia is secured to the control panel covered with double-stick tape. Press the back of the facia, away from the control panel cover, to release the tape.

  9. Use a flat-blade screwdriver, if necessary, to pry the facia away from the control panel cover.

NOTE : Make sure not to bend the facia in the process

TECH TIPS

  1. Machine screws must be used for the facia, not sheet metal screws.
  2. There is a wire harness in the card reader opening that is connected to the edge of the UIC used in the manufacturing process only. It can be left in the control panel or removed if desired.

WASHER TOP – OPEN

WARNING

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power.
  2. Turn off the water supply to the washer.
  3. Remove the control panel cover (See page 4-2).
  4. Remove two 1/4” hex head screws, one in each top front corner behind the control panel cover.
    1. Lift the front edge of the washer top to open it. When it is open all the way it will rest on the 2 retaining supports attached to the back of the washer just below the top. NOTE : If the washer is not level the top may not be stable enough to leave in the upright position without using a support rod.
  5. The top has 2 hinges, secured with Phillips screws, that are hidden once the top is closed.

CONTROL PANEL

****Electrical Shock Hazard Disconnect power before servicing. Replace all parts and panels before operating. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power.
  2. Turn off the water supply to the washer.
  3. Open the washer top (See page 4-3).
  4. Remove four T-20 1/4” hex head screws, two at each end, that secure the control panel to the washer.
  5. Lift the control panel up to release the 2 tabs from the top edge of the washer.
  6. Rotate the control panel down to access the components located behind it.
  7. To disconnect the ground wire, depress the locking tab and pull the connector off the spade which is secured to the control panel with a screw.
  8. To disconnect the wire harness from the CCU to the UIC depress the locking tab with a flat-blade screwdriver. Pull the Rast connector off the edgeboard connector.
  9. Each Rast connector has keyed tabs at the top which are located in different places on each connector to assist in proper placement of the connector during reassembly.
  10. The control panel has brass inserts that can be removed and changed if they become stripped. The brass inserts are threaded on the outside and on the inside. Use a pair of pliers to unscrew the insert from the control panel.
