  4. Overheating/overcurrent protection is installed in this machine.
If the operating temperature or output current is over high the machine will stop working to protect the machine.

OPERATOR’S SAFETY GUIDELINES

Please take good protection while welding since it is a dangerous operation and may cause damage to you and others.
Please refer to the operator’s safety guidelines in conformity with the accident prevention requirements below.
Operator's Safety Guidelines

Professional training is needed before operating the machine.

  1. Adopt professional welding protection equipment authorized by national security supervision department.
  2. The operator must be qualified with a valid certification of welders.
  3. Cut off power before maintenance or repair.

Electric shock: may lead to serious injury or even death.

  1. Install earth device according to the application standard.
  2. Never touch the live parts with skin directly or wearing wet gloves/clothes.
  3. Make sure that you are insulated from the ground and work piece.
  4. Make sure that your working area is safe.

Smoke & gas: maybe harmful to your health.

  1. Wear face mask to to avoid inhalation of exhaust gas from welding.
  2. Adopt exhaust fan while welding and keep the working environment in good ventilation condition.

Arc radiation: may damage your eyes or burn your skin.

  1. Wear suitable welding mask/helmet, welding jacket and welding gloves to protect your eyes and body.
  2. Use suitable masks or screens to protect spectators from harm.

Improper operation may cause fire or explosion.

  1. Welding sparks may result in a fire, so please make sure there is no combustible material nearby and pay attention to potential fire hazard.
  2. Prepare a fire extinguisher nearby and have a trained person to use it.
  3. Airtight container welding is forbidden.
  4. Must not use the welder for other purposes beyond welding such as pipe thawing, battery charging, heating etc.

Hot workpiece may cause severe scalding.

  1. Do not contact hot work piece with bare hands.
  2. Cooling is needed during continuous use of the welding gun.
  3. Do not place hot objects near the machine as the plastic cover may melt.

Magnetic fields affect cardiac pacemaker

Pacemaker users should be away from the welding spot before medical consultation.

Moving parts may lead to personal injury

  1. Keep yourself away from moving parts such as fan.
  2. All protective devices should be in place, such as doors panels and covers, use them to protect your safety during operation.

CAUTION

Working environment

  1. The protection class of this machine is IP21 S, so the product shall be operated under dry environment with normal humidity under 90%.
  2. Avoid welding in the open air unless sheltered from sunlight and rain. Keep it dry anytime and do not place it on wet ground or in puddles.
  3. The temperature of working environment should be between 14°F and 104°F.
  4. Avoid welding in dusty area or environment with corrosive chemical gas.
  5. Gas shielded arc welding should be operated in environment without strong airflow.

Safe use of the welding machine.

  1. Place the machine on a flat surface, never carry it during welding.

  2. Earth leakage-circuit breaker should be used with this machine.

  3. Make sure the power is off before connecting cables maintenance & checking.

  4. During operation, DO NOT pull out or insert any plugs or cables.
It can lead to fatal danger and cause damage to the machine.

  5. The end of welding device become burning hot during use keep away from it while it is hot.

  6. [MIG welding] The welding wire is sharp and moves quickly so be careful when threading it to the wire guides.

  7. [TIG welding] Do not move the gas cylinder when the control valve is in place. Fix the gas cylinder securely in an upright position to a separate wall rack or bottle cart.

  8. [TIG welding] Always close the gas flow meter after use.

  9. Heat dissipation: Welding will produce a lot of heat. Keep minimum 12″/30cm empty room around the machine for heat dissipation, it is critical important for the working performance and lifespan of the machine.

  10. Max duty cycle: If operating the machine over max duty cycle the over-heating protection will stop the machine from continues working, and the over-heating LED will light on.
Wait a few minutes for the fan to cool the machine down, welding can be continued after the over-heating LED turns off.

Installation and Operation

  1. Please search “RUBIK MIG-140” on Youtube.com for an instruction video.
    Installation and Operation

Notice: please make sure the input voltage is within range(120V ± 10%). Please install the machine strictly according to the following steps.

MMA installation
  1. {Acid electrode) lnsert the earth clamp cable plug into the “+” output terminal and tighten it clockwise. Connect the clamp to the work piece.
  2. Insert the earth clamp cable plug into the”+” output terminal and tighten it clockwise. Connect the clamp to the work piece.
  3. Insert the electrode holder cable plug into the” – “output terminal and tighten it clockwise. Put the electrode holder at somewhere in the air or keep it insulated. {Alkaline electrode) adopts the opposite connecting method of the 2 cable plugs.
  4. Connect the power input cable to the rated input power.
  5. Please tighten all the cable plugs to ensure they are in good contact, otherwise the plugs may generate a lot of heat and will be dangerous under long working time and high working current.
MMA operation method
  1. After being installed according to the above method. Put an electrode on the holder, and switch on the power button, the machine starts with the power LED on and the fan working, wait until the digital panel stop blinking.
  2. Click the function key to switch to MMA mode and adjust the welding current according to the electrode diameter and the thickness of work piece.
  3. Generally, welding current should be as below according to the electrode diameter:
Electrode diameter Output Current Metal Width
⌽ .098″ (2.5mm) 70-100A .078″(2mm)- .118″(3mm)
⌽. 125″ (3.2mm) 110-160A ≥118″(3mm)
MIG (gasless) installation
  1. Insert the earth clamp cable plug into the’+’ terminal and tighten it clockwise. Connect it to the work piece.
  2. Insert the welding gun cable plug into the” – “terminal and tighten it clockwise. Insert the smaller plug into the 2 PIN socket and tighten it clockwise. Put the welding gun at somewhere in the air or keep it insulated
  3. Install the wire spool
  4. Push the button on left side of the welder to open the cover, then rotate the cap on spindle adapter anticlockwise to get off the caps.
  5. Put on the wire spool, make sure the wire unrolls anticlockwise, then put back the caps.
  6. Loosen the tension knob, put up the tension roller, open the drive roller cap and check the drive roller, make sure the wire size on the driver roller face to you is same as the wire size using (default setting is 0.03″/0.Bmm). Then put back the drive roller cap.
  7. Take the wire, if it’s been bent around, trim it off so it comes off straight, and put it through the wire guide tubes. (Be careful not to let go of the wire because it will spring out and be difficult)
  8. Drop the tension roller down, put back the tension knob and tighten it a little bit, ensuring no sliding of the wire. (But don’t give too much pressure, in case it will slow down wire feeding speed)
  9. Press the trigger on the welding gun to thread the wire out until you can see wire comes out from the contact tip (OZ-0.4″ /5-10mm out would be suggested)
  10. Connect the power input plug to the rated input power socket.
  11. Please tighten all the cable plugs to ensure they are in good contact, otherwise the plugs may generate a lot of heat and will be dangerous under long working time and high working current.
    Installation and Operation
MIG (gasless) operation method
  1. After being installed according to the above method. Switch on the power button, the machine starts with the power LED on and the fan working, wait until the digital panel stop blinking.
  2. Click the function key to switch to MIG mode with correspond wire size (0.8mm or 1.0mm) and adjust the welding current according to the thickness of workpiece.
Electrode diameter Output Current Metal Width
⌽ .031″(0.8mm) 60-160A .039″(1mm)-.078″(2mm)
