HOW TO CARE AND CLEAN TIP
Keeping your foam cutting tool clean is mandatory if you want to reach a good result and make the process of cutting easier. Here are the most effective ways to clean the tip:
- You can clean the tips with acetone, but do it when the tip is cold.
- Sandpaper – it can be used to remove remains of melted foam from the hot-knife. This method is pretty easy and can be done frequently. We recommend using 320 grit paper to avoid damaging the tip.
- Steel wool – an easy way to clean the tip of your kit without any difficulties.
- Knife Method – another simple method to clean the tips and remove the remains of the foam buildup is using a knife.
- Jeweler’s Rouge – this is not as quick and easy as the other methods, but it’s safer and really effective for tip.
- Polishing Burr – it is one of the best ways to reach a deep clean result. But in this case, you need to be extremely careful in order not to over polish the tip as this may cause thinning over time.
