Operating the Touchscreen

Osmo Action 4 is equipped with dual touchscreens. After the camera is powered on, both touchscreens of the camera display the live view as well as the microSD card information, battery level and shooting mode. Tap or swipe on a touchscreen to interact with the camera.

Inserting the MicroSD Card

The footage shot on Osmo Action 4 is stored on a microSD card. A UHS-I Speed Grade 3 rating microSD card is required due to the fast read and write speeds necessary for high resolution video data.

Charging Osmo Action 4

Connect a USB-C charger (not included) to the USB-C port using the Type-C to Type-C PD cable (included). It is recommended to use the DJI 30 W USB-C Charger or a USB-C charger that supports Power Delivery or PPS (Programmable Power Supply).

Mounting the Accessories

Osmo Action 4 is compatible with various accessories to flexibly change the position to shoot various sports scenes.

WARNING

  1. OSMOTM Action 4 contains magnets. Keep the camera away from magcards, IC cards, hard disks, RAM chips, implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, and other devices to avoid interference. DO NOT use the battery in a strong electrostatic or electromagnetic environment. Otherwise, the circuit board may malfunction.
  2. Clean the battery, lens, lens protective cover, and the USB-C cover with a clean, dry cloth. Otherwise, Osmo Action 4 may no longer be waterproof. All the holes on Osmo Action 4 have built-in waterproof material. DO NOT poke the holes.
  3. Follow the instructions in the user manual to make sure the battery is mounted, the USB-C cover is closed, and the lens protective cover is properly tightened. Make sure Osmo Action 4 is dry before removing the battery.
  4. DO NOT allow liquid to come into contact with the battery. DO NOT leave the battery covered in moisture or out in the rain. DO NOT drop the battery into water. Otherwise, an explosion or fire may occur. If the battery falls into water, put it in a safe and open area immediately. Maintain a safe distance from the battery until it is completely dry. DO NOT use the battery again, and properly dispose of the battery as described in point 21.
  5. Put out a battery fire using water, sand, a fire blanket, or a dry powder fire extinguisher.
  6. DO NOT disassemble or pierce the battery in any way. DO NOT use or charge swollen, leaking, or damaged batteries. If the battery is abnormal, contact DJI OSMO for further assistance.
  7. The battery should be used at a temperature between -20° to 45° C (-4° to 113° F). Use of the battery in an environment above 45° C (113° F) can lead to a fire or explosion. Before using the battery in a low-temperature environment, it is recommended to charge the battery fully in a normal temperature environment. Charging the battery at the ideal temperature can prolong battery life.
  8. DO NOT drop or strike batteries. DO NOT place heavy objects on the battery. DO NOT use a battery if it is involved in a crash or heavy impact.
  9. The electrolytes in the battery are highly corrosive. If any electrolytes come into contact with your skin or eyes, immediately wash the affected area with water and seek medical support.
  10. DO NOT heat the battery. DO NOT use a hairdryer to dry the battery or put the battery in a microwave oven or a pressurized container.
  11. The battery must be charged through Osmo Action 4 or the Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case. DJI OSMO takes no responsibility if the battery is charged using a non-DJI OSMO charger.
  12. DO NOT charge the battery near flammable materials or on flammable surfaces such as carpet or wood. DO NOT leave the battery unattended during charging.
  13. Charge the battery at a temperature range of 5° to 40° C (41° to 104° F). The ideal charging temperature range is 22° to 28° C (72° to 82° F). Charging at the ideal temperature range can prolong battery life. DO NOT charge the battery immediately after use. The battery temperature may be too high and may cause serious damage to the battery.
  14. Disconnect the charger when not in use. Examine the charger regularly for damage to the cord, plug, and other parts of the charger. DO NOT use a damaged charger. DO NOT clean the charger with denatured alcohol or other flammable solvents.
  15. Keep the battery out of the reach of children and animals.
  16. DO NOT leave the battery near heat sources such as a furnace, heater, or inside a vehicle on a hot day. Avoid storing the battery in direct sunlight. DO NOT store the battery in environments with a temperature higher than 60° C (140° F). The ideal storage temperature is between 22° to 28° C (71.6° to 82.4° F).
  17. Store the Osmo Action 4 and battery in a ventilated place and keep the Osmo Action 4 dry to prevent condensation on the camera lens. It is recommended to store the camera in an environment with humidity lower than 40%.
  18. DO NOT store the battery for an extended period after fully discharging. Otherwise, the battery may over-discharge and cause irreparable damage. Discharge the battery to 40-65% if it will not be used for 10 days or more. This can greatly extend the battery life.
  19. Before taking a battery on an airline flight, fully discharge the battery. Make sure to discharge the battery in a fireproof location.
  20. Keep the battery away from metal objects such as glasses, watches, jewelry, and hairpins. DO NOT transport a damaged battery or a battery with a power level higher than 50%.
  21. Only dispose of a battery after completely discharging it. DO NOT dispose of a battery in a regular trash container. Strictly follow your local regulations regarding the disposal and recycling of the battery.

CAUTION

  1. Intricate components inside Osmo Action 4 may be damaged upon impact and cause the camera to malfunction.

  2. Only use a soft dry cloth to clean Osmo Action 4. DO NOT use any liquid cleansers or liquid containing alcohol. DO NOT clean the inside of the lens protective cover with liquid. Make sure the lens and lens protective cover are dry and clean. Sand and dust may damage the lens and water may negatively affect the performance.

  3. Keep Osmo Action 4 away from sand and dust. Wash the camera if the holes on Osmo Action 4 are blocked by sand, dust, or any other substance. Make sure all covers and compartments are closed before washing Osmo Action 4.

  4. Some small parts of Osmo Action 4 are a choking hazard. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

  5. The lens and lens filter cap consist of glass. Make sure to be careful if either break.

  6. The edges of the battery are sharp. Make sure to be careful when handling.

  7. DO NOT insert sharp objects into the USB-C port or microSD card slot.

  8. DO NOT use Osmo Action 4 inside hot springs. DO NOT allow Osmo Action 4 to come into contact with corrosive
    or unknown liquids.

  9. DO NOT use Osmo Action 4 during lightning storms.

  10. DO NOT disassemble or repair Osmo Action 4 by yourself.

NOTICE

  1. The battery is designed to stop charging when it is fully charged. It is recommended to monitor the charging progress and disconnect the battery when it is fully charged.
  2. The battery will enter hibernation mode if depleted and stored for an extended period. Recharge the battery to bring it out of hibernation.
  3. Remove the battery from Osmo Action 4 and store the battery in the Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case when stored for an extended period.
  4. When using the Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case to charge the Osmo Action Extreme Batteries, it is recommended to use the DJI 30 W USB-C Charger or a USB-C charger that supports Power Delivery or PPS (Programmable Power Delivery).
  5. Place the Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case on a flat and stable surface when in use. Ensure the device is properly insulated to prevent fire hazards.
  6. DO NOT attempt to touch the metal terminals on the Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case.

Old electrical appliances must not be disposed of together with the residual waste, but have to be disposed of separately. The disposal at the communal collecting point via private persons is for free.
