GETTING TO KNOW YOUR KEYBOARD

BEFORE FIRST USE

Charge the keyboard fully before first use by connecting the USB cable (F) to the keyboard USB Type-C port (E) and to an available USB 3.0 or better Type-A port on a compatible device including:

MULTI-PURPOSE INDICATOR (H)

MPI serves as an indicator for different scenarios such as

  • Status indications when device is turned on
  • Indication when a connection is made (wired/2.4GHz/BT)
  • Macro recording sequences
  • Displaying difference dial functions

Sequence of indication when power on:

  1. Battery status
  2. Wired/Wireless status
  3. BT pairing (only when BT pairing is triggered in BT mode)

CHARGING & BATTERY LIFE

Instruction

NOTE:

  1. All backlighting except indicators turns off when battery level is 20% or below.
  2. Device turns off automatically when battery is below 5%.
  3. Battery indicator only shows for 3 seconds and turns off after each status change.
  4. Multi-purpose indicator (H) will breathe battery status while charging and turns off when charging is complete.

CONNECTING VIA BLUETOOTH WIRELESS

K65 PLUS Wireless can store up to three pairing info and can be switched via FN key (see below table for details).

Steps to connect to your host device:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth function of your host device such as a phone or tablet. (Bluetooth 4.0 or higher)*
  2. Flip to BT mode of the 3-way mode switch (D) at the rear of the keyboard, and it will be in pairing mode automatically.
  3. Follow the pairing instructions on your host device to finish pairing.
  4. Press ESC to cancel the pairing process and erase the pairing info.
  5. To store or toggle to a different BT profile, simply hold FN and BLE (BLE1, BLE2, BLE3) for 3 seconds. Any existing pairing info will be erased when new pairing is triggered.

CONNECTING VIA USB WIRED

  1. Connect the keyboard via USB cable to a USB 3.0 Type-A port or better.
  2. The keyboard will automatically switch to USB wired mode when mode switch toggles to off.

CONNECTING TO SONY PLAYSTATION

The keyboard also has a special mode to support Sony PlayStation 4 and 5 via 2.4GHz wireless and USB wired modes that can be activated via shortcut.

NOTE: Available functions may be limited depending on gaming console support and application.

SOFTWARE MODE
When iCUE is running the keyboard operates in software mode and is controlled by iCUE. Download iCUE from corsair.com/downloads and install on a Windows PC or Apple Mac to connect all of your CORSAIR iCUE compatible products together in a single interface, giving you complete control of everything from lighting to powerful macros.

HARDWARE MODE
When iCUE is not running or the keyboard is connected to a device that does not support iCUE, the keyboard operates in hardware mode which uses profiles and settings saved to the onboard storage.

FN SHORTCUTS LIGHTING INDICATOR

When pressing FN key, all lighting will momentarily turn OFF except for:

Keys that have FN shortcut functions, including predefined ones and macros assigned by user, will have backlighting turned ON in WHITE.

  • Aside from current FN shortcuts, indication (H) will also show current profile color.
  • Exception cases: when adjusting lighting effect shortcuts such as FN+1~0, or FN+F5/F6, override to show the lighting effect which keeps playing until either FN is released or a different FN+ combo is pressed.

MACRO RECORDING

Step 1: Hold FN + M key to start recording, and indication (H) breathes red.
Step 2: Press any series of standard keys to begin recording, and indication (H) blinks red.

  • * Only standard keyboard functions can be recorded and not specialty or onboard functions like
  • Profile
  • Backlighting effects
  • Brightness
  • Media
  • Win lock

Step 3: Press FN + M key to stop recording, and indication (F) rapidly blinks red.
Step 4: Assign Macro keys by pressing any keys, FN + key, or modifier (CTRL/SHIFT/ALT/ALTGR) + key

  • If keys were recorded: Pressing that key or combination saves the macro
  • If no keys were recorded: Pressing that key or combination clears any original macro or function saved
    • Except cannot record over these keys or key combinations:
  • FN
  • All existing predefined FN shortcut combinations
    • Indication (H) displays Win Lock status

NOTE: Once a macro is recorded, it will be remembered even after device is shut down and turned back on, and will not change until users make any changes or enable factory reset.

SWAPPING KEYSWITCHES

The key switches can be removed and replaced with any variety or combination of CHERRY MX RGB mechanical keyswitches. Other third party mechanical key switches with 3-pin and 5-pin design may be compatible, but are not guaranteed to work due to physical differences.

  1. Push the 2-in-1 keys itch/keycap puller GI) over the keycap, then lift to remove.

  2. Position the tips of the 2-in-1 keyswitch/keycap puller (G) under the keyswitch top and bottom tabs, then press in and lift to remove.

  3. Align the new keyswitch’s pins and base with the sockets and opening.

  4. Carefully press the keyswitch in until it clicks into place. If you feel any resistance, remove and try again.

NOTE: Be sure to align the new keyswitch properly before insertion to prevent bent pins or damage.

FACTORY RESET

Press and hold FN + Backlight button (I) for 5 seconds. Multi-purpose indicator (H) will blink RED for 5 seconds once reset is activated. The keyboard will turn on with factory defaults.

BATTERY REMOVAL INFORMATION

  1. Remove the 8 screws fastening the top and bottom covers

  2. Remove the antenna and batterybar cables from the motherboard

  3. Remove the lower covered battery assembly from the keyboard

  4. Remove the battery from the lower cover mounting compartment

  5. Recycle batteries according to local battery disposal rules
