- 2 Year EatSmart Guarantee
OPERATION
Battery Installation and First Time Setup
- This scale operates on 3 ‘AAA’ batteries. Batteries are included and located in the underside of the the cardboard packing insert. Unwrap batteries before proceeding. Always replace both batteries at the same time: do not combine old and new batteries. Do not mix Alkaline, Carbon-Zinc (standard) or Nickel-Cadmium (rechargeable) batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the underside of the unit. Remove the cover.
- Insert batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside the battery compartment. Replace the battery compartment cover.
- The scale needs to be initialized and calibrated before first use and after moving your scale. Place scale on flat, hard surface. The harder the surface the more accurate your readings will be. Carpeted or uneven floors may affect accuracy.
- Firmly press the platform to activate the backlight but do not stand on the platform. Allow the scale to read ‘0.0’ and wait for it to turn off. Your scale is now calibrated and you can step on and weigh yourself normally.
- If you move the scale again you must repeat step #5 to calibrate again.
- Replace batteries when the scale indicates ‘Lo’ on the display.
NOTE
- New batteries should last for approximately one year under moderate use (less than 3 times daily). Batteries included with your scale are trial batteries and may last a shorter length of time.
- Please recycle or dispose of batteries per local regulations.
- Batteries may pose a choking hazard. As with all small items, do not let children handle batteries. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak. Remove the batteries if the scale will not be used for a long period of time.
Weighing Operation
Your EatSmart Bathroom Scale operates as a basic body weighing scale. No special programming is required.
- Select your desired measurement unit. Your scale has been set at the factory to read weight in pounds. You may select kilograms units of measurement by pressing the “UNIT” button on the bottom of the scale while the scale is on. (Press firmly on the platform to turn the scale on.)
- Place the scale on a hard, flat surface. Carpeted, uneven or cushioned flooring can negatively affect the accuracy of the reading. When in doubt, call 866-843-3905 (8 to 5 MST).
- Initialize the scale. If you are placing the scale down for the first time or moving your unit you must first auto-calibrate the scale (see steps 4-6 under “Operation” section of this manual.)
- Step on. Place both feet on the center of the platform and stand still.
- The scale will count up to your weight. The scale will beep and your weight will blink 2 times when your final weight has been calculated.
- Step off the scale. The scale will turn off automatically after approximately 10 seconds.
Important
Your EatSmart scale operates with “Step-On” technology but still needs to be
auto-calibrated after battery installation or after the scale is moved, to
ensure accuracy.
Firmly press the scale platform to activate the backlight but DO NOT stand on the platform. Allow the scale to read ‘0.0’ and wait for it to turn off. Your scale is now calibrated and you can step on and weigh yourself normally.

Will this scale last for at least a year or more and weigh fairly accurately for someone on a weight loss program?

Yes, this scale is designed to last for many years and will provide years of accurate weigh ins. We proudly stand behind our products and this model is backed by a 2 year warranty.
Can you turn the loud beep feature off?
No switch, no volume control. I found a double portion of appropriately sized, neatly applied duct tape over the speaker muffled enough to provide an alert, but inaudible out of room.
Can the scale be silenced?
No. It cannot be silenced. There is no instruction for silencing. My scale makes enoighnbeeping noise when weighing to wake up my partner in the next room. Why on Earth would the mfr put a noise device on a scale ? I am returning this item and looking for a silent scale. The loud beeping after weighing which was NOT described in the item description.
How do you turn off that beeper?
Greetings from Filament Brands! The Beep is a feature that is built into the scale that alerts you when your weight is ready to be read and cannot be turned off.
What is minimum weight this scale can read, for example, if used also for a puppy or kitty?
Greetings from Filament Brands! Thank you for your interest in the EatSmart Extra Wide Digital Bath Scale. For best results, we recommend weighing no less than 20 lbs.
I changed batteries it will work for a second and then it won’t again. Has anyone had this issue? Less then 1yr old.
Mine has a problem with the battery door. I had to fold a piece of paper to push the batteries into place and tape the door closed because the batteries were falling out causing a similar issue. They just weren’t being held in place firm enough to maintain contact. Other than that I’ve liked my scale. Started at almost 450 and it’s held up to me for over 2 years other than the battery issue.
How do you turn the beeping off? It’s brutally loud when i use it early in the morning while everyone is asleep
I like the beep. I feel it’s sufficiently muted now. Simply method to kill sound cut the speaker wires.
Can anyone inform me if this comes with a certificate of calibration?
The unit does not come with a COC but we are happy to provide the COC by email or USPS mail.
Whats the weight limit for the scales?
550 lb. Its a really good scale bought it in December no problems.
I’m 486lbs will this break ?
No, I was scared of that too! But it is good up to 550 lbs. I’m nowhere near that but it will not break.
Can multiple users use this scale? Does it need to be recalibrated each time?
Yes, multiple users can use it at any time. The scale also recalibrates every time it returns to zero. So when any person, even a different person steps on the scale it will reset to zero.
Does this scale have a calibration button?
No it doesn’t. Once you place it on the floor, you tap on the top right corner and the screen will flash a “C” and then it is ready to weigh yourself on.
I replaced with 3 brand new aaa batteries less than 3 weeks ago, & it’s saying lo again already. is scale malfunctioning?
I am not sure. We have had ours with the same batteries since we bought it in June 2020. Try taking them out and be sure they are in correctly and they are secure and check the dates on the batteries.
How do i clear scale data?
Just wait ten seconds, or so, and it will clear itself.
Is this compatible with fitness apps?
No. It doesn’t connect to any apps. It just does your weight.
What’s the battery life on this scale?
The batteries that are included in the unit should last up to at least a year, and possibly up to 2 years, depending on use (the backlight is the feature that uses the most battery power).
