Product Usage Instructions
Cable Preparation
- Ensure the cable is free from any gel or water.
- Strip the polyethylene jacket carefully to expose the inner components.
- Identify the central element and the buffer tubes.
- Follow the color coding of the buffer tubes to identify the fibers.
- If necessary, use the ripcords to separate the buffer tubes.
Installation
- Select the appropriate installation environment based on the cable type and application.
- Ensure the temperature range during installation is within the specified limits.
- Determine the desired cable routing and bury the cable if required.
- Maintain the minimum bend radius during installation to prevent damage to the cable.
- Handle the cable with care to avoid any excessive tension or twisting.
Operation
- Ensure the temperature range during operation is within the specified limits.
- Monitor the cable for any signs of damage or degradation.
- If necessary, perform regular maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance.
Storage
- Store the cable in a dry and cool environment.
- Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- Keep the cable away from any chemicals or corrosive substances.
- Do not stack heavy objects on top of the cable to prevent crushing or deformation.

Corning ALTOS® Lite gel-free, single-jacket, single-armored cables are
designed for campus backbones in direct-buried installations. The loose tube
design provides stable and highly reliable transmission parameters for a
variety of voice, data, video, and imaging applications. These cables also
provide high-fiber density within a given cable diameter while allowing
flexibility to suit many system configurations. The single-armored
construction provides additional crush and rodent protection with a high-
strength ripcord under the armor for easy stripping. Gel-free means the cables
are fully waterblocked using craft-friendly, water-swellable materials which
make cable access simple and require no cleanup. The flexible, craft-friendly
buffer tubes are easy to route in closures, and the SZ-stranded, loose tube
design isolates fibers from installation and environmental rigors while
allowing easy mid-span access.
These cables have a medium-density polyethylene jacket that is rugged, durable
and easy to strip
