Door Preparation

  1. Check door thickness and Door Frame.

    • Door frame: 4 13 (110mm)
    • Door thickness: 1 1/2 – 1 7/8 (38-48mm)
  2. Check door open direction.

Step 1: According to the map drilling holes on the door.
Note:

  • Check the required backset (60mm or 70mm).
  • Align the template along the vertical center line of the deadbolt (D) at the desired height, and tape it to the door.
  • Mark the holes first, then start drilling.

Step 2: Install the deadbolt (D).
Check that the UP mark is facing upward before inserting the deadbolt into the hole.

Note:

  • The deadbolt has TWO backset options: 70mm or 60mm, please adjust it by yourself.
  • DO NOT Push the latch out before installation.

Step 3: Install outdoor unit (A).

Step 4: Install mounting plate (C).
Keep the spindle vertical.

Note : Cable goes underneath deadbolt.

Step 5: Install indoor unit (C).
For the Left-open door, turn the switch to L.
For the Right-open door, turn the switch to R.
Note : Please notice the direction of the Knob, as shown below.

Step 6: Install 4 pieces of AA Alkaline batteries.
Step 7: Mark and drill holes for a strike.
Use the sucker (Sucker and keys hang together) to remove the cover.

Test the lock by rotating the knob on unit C and using a mechanical key.

FAQ

  • Q: How do I change the backset of the deadbolt?
    A: To change the deadbolt from 60mm to 70mm, twist the barrel clockwise, pull it out, and then twist it anti-clockwise to lock it into the 70mm position.

  • Q: What type of batteries should I use for the lock?
    A: You should use 4 pieces of AA Alkaline batteries.

Note:

  1. This lock is equipped with mechanical keys for manual unlocking. Remove mechanical keys from the package and keep them in a safe place and always have access to them.
  2. To power on the lock, four AA alkaline batteries (not included) are required. Non-alkaline and rechargeable batteries ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.
  3. This lock is used outdoors and indoors, it is designed to be exposed to direct sunlight or rain. The waterproof rating: IP45
  4. The operation of setting lock has a stand-by time limit of 8 seconds; Without any activity, lock’s keyboard will shut after 8 seconds.
  5. Keep your fingers clean when using this lock.

Step 1

Features

  • Lock’s Administrator: After pairing the lock with the TTLock App on your phone, your phone becomes the administrator of the lock.
  • Bluetooth Key: After pairing the lock, turn on Bluetooth on your phone, open the TTLock App, and unlock the lock via your phone. (The phone should be within 10 meters from the door lock)
  • Remote Authorization eKey: The administrator can instantly and remotely send the eKey to other people’s mobile App, can also limit the use time of the eKey, and instantly freeze, unfreeze and delete the eKey.
  • Authorized Remote Passcode: The administrator can from anywhere remotely send permanent and time-limited passwords to others.
  • Keyboard Locked: After 6 failed passcode attempts, the keypad will shut down for 3 minutes. Mechanical Key and App Unlock can be used to unlock in this state.
  • Randomizer: Before you enter your passcode, you can push some random numbers to prevent the passcode from being inferred based on the fingerprints on the frequently pushed numbers and from being seen by anyone nearby.
  • Auto Lock: After unlocking, the lock can lock automatically after some time (can be 5s, 10s, 30s, 60s or custom seconds, the time can be set via the smartphone App)
  • Lock with # key: Press and hold the # key on the keyboard for 2 seconds to lock.
  • Low Power Consumption: 4 x AA alkaline batteries can be unlocked about 5000 times (more than 6 months).
  • Low Power Alarm: When the battery power is low, the lock will emit an alarm sound. The App interface will display the real-time power level. When the battery is dead, you can use a backup battery connected by USB cable or a mechanical key to temporarily unlock the lock.
  • Real-Time Record: You can check to unlock records in real time on your App.
  • Privacy Lock-out Mode: It essentially is a ‘do not disturb’ mode, privacy button is below the knob of back panel, this will make the lock no longer accept passcode, card or fingerprint access except for the mechanical key and App Unlock.
    1. Press the privacy button for about 3 seconds and activate the privacy lock-out mode.
    2. To deactivate the privacy lock-out mode, please short-press the privacy button once or turn the knob once, then the passcode/card/fingerprint can work again.

App Operation Guide

App Installation and Registration
Search and download the “TTLock” App from Google Play Store or  Apple Store on your phone.
You can also scan the QR code to download the App.

Install and register an account with your phone number or email.

Note :
If you have already registered an account, just log in with this account.

App Connection

  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Open the App. Then click icon + and click “All Locks”.
  • Touch the touch screen of the lock to activate the keyboard.
  • Find the lock’s name which starts with “xx_xxx” and click “+”.
  • Rename the name of lock if necessary and click “OK”.

Note:

  • If you can not see the “+” sign when pairing the lock, follow the steps below to reset the lock: Remove one of the batteries to power off the lock for about 5 seconds, put the battery back, and keep pressing the reset button (right below the knob on the back panel) for about 10 seconds, when hearing the voice prompt, pls input “0000#”. Remember that your phone must be connected to the internet (3G / 4G / Wifi) when pairing.
  • Once you pair the lock with your account, the device will not be able to link to other accounts, unless you remove the lock from your App.

**App Operation Instruction

**

eKeys
eKey is a function for you to authorize the Admin rights to other people, who have download the TTLock App and register a TTLock account on his/her phone. People who hold can control the smart lock.

Passcodes
The passcode can be set as different type: Permanent / Timed / One-time(6 hours) /Erase(24 hours) / Customized / Recurring. You can send the passcodes to those in need by mail or chatting tools. The receiver can unlock the lock by entering the passcode manually. (Enter the passcode and then press the # key to unloc)

Cards :
To add and delete cards on the App, place the card on the sensor area of the lock’s keyboard when adding. You can add card with the types of Permanent / Timed / Recurring.

Fingerprints:
To add and delete fingerprints on the App, place the finger on the sensor area of the lock when adding. You can add fingerprint with the types of Permanent / Tim- ed / Recurring.

Authorized Admin:
Authorize admin to the user as an Admin user to operate the lock.

Records:
View locking and unlocking information to check when and who used it.

Settings

  • Basics: Display the Lock Number, MAC/ID, Battery lever, Lock Name (You can change the name of the lock), Lock Group (The administrator can add multiple locks for group-ing,which is suitable for rental housing. It is more convenient for group management of personnel), Admin Passcode (It is the unlock passcode of the administrator, which can be manually changed to a custom passcode).
  • Auto Lock: Off-by-default. Open the App-click Setting, click Auto Lock-turn on and set the time to 10S, 15S, 30S, 60S or the Custom seconds you need, then click OK. When the setup is completed, it will be automatically locked after unlocking (for example, it will be automatically locked 10 seconds after unlocking if the time is set as 10 seconds).
  • Lock Sound: On-by-default. By turning off, you will not hear the sound from the lock, such as the sound when pressing the number keys on lock’s keyboard.
  • Lock Clock: Calibrate the time of the lock.
  • Diagnosis: Analyse the problem of the lock.
  • Import from another lock: You can import valid eKeys, passcodes, cards from another lock which is on your TTLock App.
  • Unlocking Notification: On-by-default. If this function is on, the administrator’s phone will receive the unlocking information when someone who is assigned a key unlocks the door with the App.
  • Firmware Upgrade: To check whether there is any updated version.

System Settings

  • Sound: On by default, you can manually close it to turn off the sound of App unlock operation.
  • Touch to Unlock: Off-by-default, this function is invalid when the “TTLock” App is closed or running on the background of your phone. When the App is opened and connected within 10 meters from the lock, any family member can unlock the door by pressing any button on the lock’s keyboard for at least 2 seconds. It is recommended to close the option if you do not need it.
  • Lock Users: You can check your lock users here.
  • Lock Group: The administrator can add multiple locks for grouping, which is suitable for rental housing. It is more convenient for achieving group management of personnel. It can be modified or deleted if not needed.
  • Transfer locks: This function is used to transfer the administrator rights. Once transferred, you will not be the administrator again.
  • Transfer gateway: This function is used to transfer the gateway. Once transferred, you will lose the right to manage the gateway.
  • Languages: App system language setting.
  • Screen Lock: After the function is turned on, you need to use your fingerprint or password to open the lock App. No need to verify again within 3 minutes.

Operation Instructions

Unlock

  1. Via App: Open the App and click the icon on the interface to unlock. (The phone should be within 5 meters from the lock.)
  2. Via Passcode: Enter the passcode and then press “#” to confirm the unlocking.
  3. Via Card: Place the IC card on the middle of the lock’s keyboard to unlock.
  4. Via Fingerprint: Place the finger on the fingerprint sensor area of the lock to unlock.
  5. Via Mechanical Key: Use a sucker to remove the cover of keyhole which is on the front panel, then insert the key to unlock.
  6. Unlock in the Room: Manually twist the knob on the back panel to unlock.

Lock

  1. Via App: Open the App, press and hold the lock icon for 2 seconds to lock.
    (The phone should be within 5 meters from the door lock.)

  2. Auto Lock: Click the icon on the interface of the lock and enter “Settings”, then click “Auto Lock” to set the auto lock time, the lock will be locked automatically according to the set time after you unlock the lock.

  3. Via the # key: Press and hold the # key on the lock’s keyboard for 2 seconds to lock.

  4. Via Mechanical Key: Use a sucker to remove the cap of keyhole which is on the front panel, then insert the key to lock.

  5. Lock in the Room: Manually twist the knob on the Back panel to lock.

Remote Authorization of eKey
Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click eKey – click Send eKey – select the eKey type as “Timed” / “Permanent” / “One-time” / “Recurring” – Enter the App account of the recipient – click Send.

Switch Administrator
Delete the Administrator right
Open the App- enter the interface of the lock – click Settings – click Delete – enter your App account password – click OK. (The phone should be within 5 meters away from the lock.) Then, the lock can be added by a new phone installed App. A lock can only be paired with one App account.

Switch through the Transfer locks function.
Open the App – click App’s Settings – click Transfer Locks – Select Locks – click Next – enter the recipient’s App account and the verification code – click Next – Finish. (The phone should be within 5 meters from the lock ).

Freeze / Delete / Authorize / Name / Operate Already Sent eKeys by Administrator
Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click eKeys – click the eKey that has been sent – click Name / valitidity / delete the eKey info you need – clicking the menu on the upper right corner to conduct the freeze / authorize operation.

Remote Authorization of Passcode
Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click Passcodes – click Generate Passcode select the type of the passcode (Permanent / Timed / One- time / Custom / Recurring) -click Generate.
Then it will create a passcode. You can send the code to others by SMS, email or other chatting tools.

Delete already Sent Passcode by Administrator
Open the App – enter the interface of the lock – click Passcodes – select the passcode that has been sent – delete the passcode. (The phone is required to be connected to Wifi or mobile data network and near the lock).

Reset the Lock
The lock can be reset by below two methods.

Method 1: Reset on TTLock App
(The phone needs to be near the lock.) Enter the interface of the lock which you want to reset on App – click Settings – click Delete – enter your App account password – OK

Method 2: Reset on the lock

  • Remove one of the batteries.
  • Put the battery back, press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds.
  • When hearing the voice prompt “Please input the initialization passcode”, release your finger from the reset button and input “0000#”.
  • Remove one battery and put it back again.

FQA

  • Q: How can I reset my TTLock App account if I forgot my password?
    A: 1. Open the TTLock App, click Forgot password, enter the email address or phone number you registered for your TTLock account.
    2. Enter a new password, and check the Get code. You should receive a verification code by email or phone message, enter the verification code to reset your password. Use the new password to sign in the account.

  • Q: Can I still use the smart lock when my phone is lost or turned off?
    A: 1. Yes. You can still use the mechanical key/password / IC card to lock/unlock the door.
    2. Use a new phone to download the App, sign in to your App account with the email or phone number and password. Enter the verification code, then you can use the new phone to unlock the door.

  • Q: The door won’t lock automatically when I close it.
    A: 1. Check if Auto Lock is set. If not, press and hold the # key on the panel keypad for 3 to 5  seconds to lock the door.
    2. If the door doesn’t lock automatically when Auto Lock is set, then the lock has been installed incorrectly.
    3. The Auto Lock function is not activated when the batteries are completely discharged. Check if the batteries are discharged.

  • Q: Lock configuration failed.
    A: 1. Remove the mechanical key from the cylinder.
    2. Check that the door was closed properly or if the lock operation was interfered.

  • Q: The App is disconnected from the door unit and/or I can’t find my lock on the App.
    A: 1. Close the App, and turn off the phone’s Bluetooth. Then turn Bluetooth back on, and open the  App.
    2. Refresh the App.
    3. The lock can only be connected to one user’s App. Another user’s phone App may be already connected to the lock. If don’t know which user is connected to it, you have to reset the lock.

  • Q: The smart lock has started beeping whenever I lock or unlock the door.
    A: This is an indication your battery is low; it’s time to change the batteries.

  • Q: I’m unable to open the door from a distance of 10 meters/yards
    A: 1. The app works via a Bluetooth connection, which can be impacted by the environment.
    2. For both security and functionality reasons, try moving as close as possible to the lock.”
    3. The battery is low, use the emergency power supply for the door.

  • Q: Can the lock be set to automatically lock after closing?
    A: Yes. You can preset the locking time after 5~900 seconds of closing on the App.

  • Q: How long will the battery last?
    A: It depends on the frequency of usage. 4 x AA batteries can normally be used for 6 months (about 5,000 unlocking).

  • Q: Can I check the record of unlocking time and fingerprint on this App?
    A: Yes. “TTLock” App shows all operating records including who and when to open the door.

  • Q: Can this lock be exposed to direct sunlight?
    A: Yes. However, it is not recommended to do so, as long-term exposure to sun will shorten the lifespan of electronic products.

  • Q: Is it easy to install? Have installation video?
    A: Yes. We provide a detailed installation video. If you follow the steps, you can complete the setup in 30 minutes.

  • Q: Can I share a temporary code with my guest or friend?
    A: Yes. More than 150 different codes (temporary/permanent/one-time/cycle) are available in case of a sudden visit. Custom code only can be set when your phone closes to the lock. You also can set the “empty” code to delete all previous codes once you enter it.

  • Q: How many fingerprints can be set? And how about IC cards?
    A: This lock can be set 150 fingerprints and 300 IC cards.

  • Q: Can I cancel voice prompts?
    A: Yes. You can set or cancel it by APP.

  • Q: How far should I be from the door to unlock it with Bluetooth APP?
    A: Within 10 meters.
