Product Usage Instructions

Wide Base (Not applicable for AMT20)
Insert the wide base if applicable.

Sleeve Installation
To install the sleeve:

  1. Choose the appropriate sleeve size based on the specifications.
  2. Slide the selected sleeve over the shaft until it reaches Tool A.
  3. Slide the shaft adapter over the sleeve.
  4. Use Tool C to press the shaft adapter over the sleeve until it is flush with Tool A. Ensure that the shaft adapter and Tool C spline are aligned properly.
  5. Remove Tools A and C.

Base Placement
To place the base on the motor:

  1. Position the base on the motor, using Tool C as a centring tool.

Aligning Base and Tool C
To align the base and Tool C:

  1. Align Tool C with the flange on the base.
  2. Slide the base and Tool C onto the motor, centring it onto the shaft adapter.

Fastening the Base
To fasten the base on the motor:

  1. Securely fasten the base on the motor. Note that Tool C may need to be rotated to accommodate different mounting configurations.
  2. Remove Tool C.

Top Cover Assembly
To assemble the top cover:

  1. Snap the top cover onto the base, ensuring that the teeth of the shaft adapter align with the grooves in the hub.
  2. Ensure that the snaps are fully engaged by pressing on the hub with the reverse side of Tool C.
  3. After assembly, the shaft adapter, sleeve, and rotor hub should all be flush with the motor shaft, which should rotate freely.

Note: It is recommended to limit the number of cycles of mounting and removal of the AMT top cover base to three. Multiple cycles can lead to base fatigue over time and impact encoder performance.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

STEP 1

  1. Insert Tool A as a spacer that defines the distance to the mounting surface.
  2. Slide the appropriate-sized Sleeve over the shaft all the way down to Tool A.
  3. Slide Shaft Adaptor over Sleeve.
  4. Use Tool C to press the Shaft Adaptor over the Sleeve (ensure Shaft Adapter and Tool C spline alignment) until flush with Tool A.

STEP 2

  1. Remove Tools A and C.
  2. Place the Base on the motor, with Tool C used as a centring tool.

STEP 3

  1. Align Tool C with a flange on the Base.
  2. Slide Base and Tool C onto the motor, centering onto the Shaft Adapter.

STEP 4

  1. Fasten the Base on the motor (Tool C may need to be rotated to allow for some mounting configurations).
  2. Remove Tool C.

STEP 5

  1. Snap the Top Cover onto the Base, carefully observing that the teeth of the Shaft Adaptor align with the grooves in the hub.
    • We recommend no more than three cycles of mounting and removal of the AMT top cover base. Multiple cycles of mounting and removing the top cover can cause base fatigue over time and affect encoder performance.

STEP 6

  1. Make sure the snaps are fully engaged by pressing on the Hub with the reverse side of Tool C.
  2. When the assembly is finished, the Shaft Adaptor, Sleeve and Rotor Hub should all be flush with the Motor Shaft rotating freely.
