GETTING STARTED

  1. Firstly, pull out the plastic tab by the battery lid at the back of the monitor.
  2. Then the display shows ‘CAL’ (calibration) and counts up to a minimum of 50. The monitor self-test is in this phase and the duration is less than 30 sec.
  3. The LCD screen shows up to 4 flashing dashes to indicate the time remaining until the radon levels are shown. In this phase, data is obtained for an initial radon level calculation. The phase duration depends on radon levels but typically ranges from 6 to 24 hours. The indicator in the upper left corner of the screen flashes when the monitor is active.
  4. Place the monitor in living areas (e.g., bedroom and living room) and in places deemed representative of the air breathed in each living area.

Note:

  1. The radon monitor should not be exposed to direct sunlight or moisture and should be placed at least 50 cm above floor level, and at least 150 cm from the nearest door, window, or air vent.
  2. Don’t move it during measurement.
  3. If the display shows ‘Err’ and a number, press RESET, and remove and reinstall the batteries after cleaning their contacts. If the ‘Err’ persists, contact the seller for support.

HOW TO USE THE MONITOR

  • The long-term average represents the average radon value for the ongoing measurement, max one year (updated once every 24 hours).
  • The short-term average alternates between showing the radon value over the last day (updated every hour) and over the last 7 days (updated once every 24 hours).
  • The long-term average value is used to identify any potential health risks.
  • The short-term average is used primarily to see the effect of measures to reduce the radon level, such as increasing ventilation.
  • The building can be diagnosed by taking measurements for one week in all living areas, such as living rooms and bedrooms.
  • This should preferably be followed by long-term measurement in the room which has the highest radon value.
  • For long-term measurement periods and action levels, we recommend following the guidelines from the national radiation authority.

RESET: Press the button to restart the instrument before a new measurement. This operation removes all stored radon data. Remember to note down all previous measurements before using the RESET button.

MODE: Press the button to get information on the number of measurement days since the instrument started for the first time or the last RESET operation.

This information is displayed on the lower half of the screen for 20 seconds before the screen returns to the ordinary display. Replace the batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen.

It is recommended to keep the monitor continuously ON.

Note: After replacing the batteries, the instrument recote and all stored data is deleted
