Safety Instructions

  • This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the
    hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • There are no userserviceable parts  inside the device. Refer  to an authorized dealer for service and/or spare parts.

  • Do not immerge the device in any liquid. Keep the main unit away from high heat and fire.

  • Do not disassemble or open the cover  under any circumstances. Touching live wires can cause life-threatening electroshocks.

  • Keep this device away from extreme heat.

  • Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.

  • Do not use the device when damage to housing is noticed. Do not attempt to service the device yourself but contact an authorised dealer.

  • Connect this meter to a 230 V~,   0 Hz mains only.

  • Disconnect the device from the mains to clean it or when not in use.

  • Never insert objects   the meter.

  • Do not use a damaged or deformed meter.

  • Do not use with loads exceeding 16 A. Do not connect multiple meters in series.

General Guidelines

  • Refer to the Velleman Service and Quality Warranty on www.velleman.eu.
  • Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.
  • Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
  • All modifications of the device® are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
  • Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
  • Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
  • Keep this manual for future reference.

Use

  • Plug the meter into a suitable mains outlet, it will switch on automatically.
  • Plug a suitable device (<16A!) into the meter and switch it on.
  • The meter starts to display the line power (W).
  • Press the MODE button multiple times to change the display: PEREL E305EM6 Energy Meter with SCHUKO Plug - icon 2(line power (W) – consumption (kWh) – total cost – cost/KWh)
  • To set the cost/kWh, press the mode button until COST/KWH is displayed. Press the SET button and use the UP button to change the value of the first digit. Press SET again to move to the next digit.
  • When all 4 digits are set, set the radix point using the UP button. Press SET again to store the value.
  • To clear all data (except line power), press and hold the MODE button for 3 s in KWH or PRICE mode.
    Note: Line power is measured real-time, hence it will not clear.
