Assembly

  1. Unfold Stroller
    To unfold the stroller, unlatch the stroller lock and lift the handlebar until it clicks and locks into place.

  2. Install Rear Wheels
    To install the rear wheels, push the axle through the rear legs. Slide the smooth end of the axle through the rear legs first. Place a washer on the axle, then slide a wheel onto the axle with the spokes facing out. Slide on a second washer. Insert the cotter pin through the hole in the axle and push until it snaps onto the axle. Repeat for the other side. Snap the hubcaps onto both wheels.

  3. Install Front Wheels
    Orient the front wheel as shown and slide it onto the frame tube. The wheel will click when properly installed. Repeat for the other front wheel.

  4. Install Child’s Tray
    To install the child’s tray, align the tray openings with the posts on the stroller and slide the tray onto the posts until both sides click into place.

Product Usage

  1. To Use Child’s Tray
    To open the child’s tray, squeeze the button and rotate the tray all the way over. To remove it completely, squeeze both buttons and pull the tray off the posts. To close it, rotate the tray onto the post and press down until it clicks into place.

  2. Restraint System
    Place your child in the stroller with the crotch strap between their legs. Clip the shoulder straps to the waist belt and fasten both buckles. Tighten the waist and shoulder straps to ensure a secure fit.

  • NEVER allow children to climb into the stroller unassisted. The stroller may tip over and injure a child.
  • NEVER place or hang parcels, bags, or accessories on the handle or canopy. The stroller may tip over or the canopy may collapse.
  • This product will become unstable if a parcel bag or rack is used when there is no provision for one.
  • This product may become unstable if a parcel bag, other than the one recommended by the manufacturer is used.
  • This product will become unstable if the manufacturer’s recommended load is exceeded.
  • DO NOT carry additional children, goods, or accessories in or on this product except as recommended in the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • NEVER place more than 2 lbs. in the parent’s tray to prevent tipping.
  • NEVER place more than 10 lbs. in the storage basket. If weight is exceeded, hazardous unstable conditions may exist.
  • STROLLER is only for use with children up to 50 lbs., and WHEN SEATED, the midpoint of the child’s head is at or below the top of the stroller seat.
  • ONLY use this stroller with ONE child at a time.
  • STROLLER mode is for use with children who can sit up unassisted and is NOT recommended for newborns.

Assembly

  1. Unfold Stroller
    Unlatch the stroller lock (Figure 1).
    Lift handlebar (Figure 1a). The stroller will click when completely opened and locked. NOTE : The hardware for the rear wheel assembly is located on the axle.
    Helpful Hint: For ease of removal and assembly of the cotter pin use needle nose pliers.

  2. Install Rear Wheels
    Push the axle through the rear legs. Slide the smooth end of the axle through the rear legs first (Figure 2a).
    Place one washer on the axle (Figure 2b). With the spokes facing out, slide a wheel onto the axle. Slide on a second washer.
    Insert the straight side of the cotter pin through the hole in the axle (Figure 2c) and push until the cotter pin snaps onto the axle. Repeat for the other side.
    Snap hubcaps onto both wheels (Figure 2d).

  3. Install Front Wheels
    Orient the wheel as shown and slide the front wheel onto the frame tube. The wheel will click when installed properly. Repeat for the other front wheel.

  4. Install Child’s Tray
    To install: Align tray openings with posts on the troller and slide the ray onto posts until both sides “click” (Figure 4).

To Use

Tip : The child tray can be opened and closed without removing.

  1. To Use Child’s Tray
    To open : Squeeze the button (Figure 1) and rotate the tray over (Figure 1a). To remove completely, squeeze both buttons and pull the tray off the posts.
    To close : Rotate the tray onto the post and press down until the tray “clicks” into place.

  2. To Use Brakes
    Step in front of the brake levers. To park the stroller, BOTH BRAKES MUST BE LOCKED.
    Step on the rear of the brake levers to unlock the brakes.

  3. Engage Swivel Locks
    Press down on the levers to swivel. Position the front wheels straight and lift levers to keep the wheels from swiveling (Fig. 6a).

    • NOTE : The locked position is ideal for travel over rocky or uneven surfaces.
  4. To Adjust Seat Position
    To lower the seat back completely: Lift the clamp lever (Figure 4) and lower the seat back (Figure 4a). Push the clamp lever closed.
    To raise the seat back : Lift the clamp lever. Holding the clamp lever, push the seat back forward. Push the clamp lever closed.

    • NOTE : DO NOT adjust the seat when your child is in the stroller.

WARNING

  • NEVER LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED. ALWAYS keep the child in view when in the stroller.
  • AVOID SERIOUS INJURY from falling or sliding out. ALWAYS use a seat belt. Check frequently to make sure it is secure.
  • Belts must be threaded exactly as shown (Figure 4b).
  • Failure to follow these instructions could result in the serious injury or death of your child.

Restraint System
Place your child in the stroller, with the crotch strap between the child’s legs. Clip shoulder straps to the waist belt and fasten both buckles (Figure 4). Tighten the waist and shoulder straps snugly around your child (Figure 4a).

Shoulder straps:

  • To tighten, loosen the strap at (A) and slide the buckle up (Figure 4b).
  • To loosen, loosen the strap at (A) and slide the buckle down (Figure 4b).

Waist straps:

  • To tighten, pull end (C).
  • To loosen, loosen the strap at (B) then pull outward at (D) (Figure 4b).

NOTE : If the straps should come out of the buckle, rethread as shown (Figure 4b).

WARNING

  • For proper installation of the restraint system, make sure both anchors lay flat against the backboard.
  • NEVER use a stroller without BOTH restraint and crotch straps.

Adjust Restraint Height
Push each anchor through the seat back and into the desired slot (Figure 5). Be sure anchors lay flat against the seat back.

To Fold Stroller
Lock the rear brakes and remove your baby. Pull the stroller backward so the wheels extend outward. Find the LIFT TO FOLD handle on the seat (Figure 6) and pull up on handle to fold. Lift to Fold handle can be used as a carry handle to transport your stroller.

  • Ensure the lock locks into place when folded, as shown (Figure 6a). The stroller will stand on its own.

**To Install Infant Car Seat

**

This product includes a car seat. Please find the separate car seat instruction manual that came with your car seat.

WARNING

To avoid serious injury:

  • Use ONLY compatible infant car seats that are listed on our website.
  • Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for the use of your infant car seat.
  • ALWAYS use the child’s tray when the car seat is installed.
  • ALWAYS install a car seat facing the rear of the stroller.
  • ALWAYS use the restraint system in the car seat.

To Install an Infant Car Seat

  • Recline the seat back to the lowest position. Close canopy.
  • The car seat must be positioned so the child faces the stroller handle.
  • Position the car seat over the stroller. Touch the rear flat vertical surface of car seat A against the rear vertical surface of the child tray B.
  • Lower straight down into the stroller and push down on the handle. The car seat will click into place when fully nested (Figures 7a and 7b).
  • When properly installed, the car seat will come to rest on the child tray and stroller frame (Figure 7c). Pull up on the car seat to make sure it is se­curely Installed (Figure 7d).
  • To remove the car seat, pull the release lever as shown (Figure 7e). Lift car seat.

Stroller Care and Maintenance

  • To clean stroller fabric and seat pad use a sponge or damp cloth with cold water and mild soap. Drip dry only. Do not use harsh household cleaners or bleach to clean the stroller.
  • Restraint and crotch straps should be surface-washed and drip-dried only. Do not place in washing machine or dryer.
  • Periodically, check for loose screws, worn parts, torn material, or loose stitching. Tighten or replace parts as needed.

One-Year Limited Warranty

Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that this product (Smooth Ride) is free from material and workmanship defects when used under normal conditions for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Should the product contain defects in material or workmanship Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc., will repair or replace the product, at our option, free of charge. Purchaser will be responsible for all costs associated with packaging and shipping the product to Dorel Juvenile Group Consumer Relations Department at the address noted on the front page and all other freight or insurance costs associated with the return. Dorel Juvenile Group will bear the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced product to the purchaser. The product should be returned in its original package accompanied by a proof of purchase, either a sales receipt or other proof that the product is within the warranty period. This warranty is void if the owner repairs or modifies the product or if the product has been damaged as a result of misuse. This warranty excludes any liability other than that expressly stated previously, including but not limited to, any incidental or inconsequential damages.
