Honeywell Silent Knight EVS-SW24 Switch Expander Instruction Manual
1. Description
The EVS-SW24 adds 24 additional switches to the EVS Series controls providing a total of 40 switches (with the EVS-VCM or EVS-RVM).
NOTE: Installation and wiring of this device must be done in accordance with NFPA 72 and local ordinances.
1.1 Compatibility
The EVS-SW24 is compatible with the following Silent Knight Series fire alarm
control panels (FACPs):
- 6820EVS
- 5820XL-EVS
1.2 Specifications
- Standby Current: 10mA
- Alarm Current: 25mA
2 Mounting
- Open the cabinet door and the dead front panel.
- Remove AC power from the main control panel.
- Disconnect the backup batteries.
- Install the EVS-SW24 on the mounting studs located on the inside of the dead front panel on the FACP. Refer to Figure 1.
- Secure the switch expander to the dead front panel using the supplied 0.25” hex nuts.

3. Wiring
1. Connect one end of the supplied wiring harness (PN 130398) to the EVS-VCM or EVS-RVM. Then, connect the other end of the wiring harness to the EVS-SW24 as shown below.

2. Restore AC power.
3. Reconnect the backup batteries.
