Intended use

The power strip is suitable for installation in a 48.26 cm (19”) server rack. Mounting material is provided.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g. in a bathroom) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Only make this product available to third parties together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions

****Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety instructions. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in these operating instructions, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. In addition, such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

  • The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It could become a dangerous plaything for children.

  • Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.

  • Never expose the product to mechanical stress.

  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised use. The safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    – is visibly damaged,
    – is no longer working properly,
    – has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    – has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

  • Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may damage the product.

  • Always observe the safety instructions and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.


  • ****
    If the product shows signs of damage, do not touch it, there is a risk of death from an electric shock! First, switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to which the product is connected (switch off the respective circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse; then switch off the respective FI circuit breaker so that the mains socket is fully disconnected). Only then remove the product from the mains socket.
    Dispose of the damaged product in an environmentally friendly manner, stop using it. Replace it with an identical product.

  • The mains socket must be located near the device and be easily accessible.

  • The product must only be powered by a standard mains socket connected to the public grid. Before plugging in the product, check that the voltage indicated on the product corresponds to the voltage of your electricity supplier.

  • Never unplug the mains plug by pulling on the cable. Always use the grips on the mains plug.

  • Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not plan to use the product for an extended period of time.

  • For safety reasons, always disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during a thunderstorm.

  • Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or subjected to mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise, the mains cable may be damaged. A damaged mains cable can cause a fatal electric shock.

  • Do not touch the mains cable if there are any signs of damage. Power down the respective mains socket (e.g. via the respective circuit breaker), and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.

  • A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised repair centre or a qualified electrician in order to avoid hazards.

  • Never insert or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.

  • Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next to the device. If liquid or an object gets into the device, power down the respective mains socket (e.g. switch off the circuit breaker), and then pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Stop using the product and take it to a specialist repair centre.

  • Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. The condensate that forms may destroy the product. Furthermore, it can cause a lethal electric shock! Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it and putting it to use. This may take several hours.

  • Observe the warning notices on the product! Upon delivery, warning notices are provided on the product in German.

    If your language is not attached to the product, warning notices are also included in the following languages: English, Italian, Dutch.

  • Ensure there is sufficient air circulation when you operate the product. Never cover the product.

  • Always turn off devices to be connected before connecting or disconnecting them.

  • Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if you have concerns about safety.

  • Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a specialist repair centre.

  • If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

  • The product is equipped with an enhanced protection against accidental contact.
    An integrated mechanism will release the holes of the receptacle only, if the two prongs of a power plug are inserted into the two holes at once.

  • Take special caution when children are around. Children cannot recognize the danger arising from the incorrect use of electrical devices. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!

Mounting in a server rack

  • The power strip can be mounted in a 48.26 cm (19 inch) server rack. You can use the included materials for mounting the power strip.
  • Ensure that the on/off switch is in the off position.
  • After installation, connect the switched-off devices to the earth-contact power sockets. When doing so, pay attention to the available power ratings; see “Technical Data”. Connect the mains plug of the power strip to a suitable mains socket.
  • Remove the cover from the on/off switch. Switch on the power strip with the on/off switch. The LED power light will go on. Replace the on/off switch cover.
  • If the power strip will be out of use for an extended period of time, turn it off. The LED power light will go out. Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket.

Care and cleaning

  • Disconnect the product from the mains socket and the connected devices before cleaning the product.
  • Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may damage the housing or cause the product to malfunction.
  • Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids.
  • Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.

Disposal

**** This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on the EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
Owners of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) shall dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. Spent batteries and accumulators, which are not enclosed by the WEEE, as well as lamps that can be removed from the WEEE in a non-destructive manner, must be removed by end users from the WEEE in a non-destructive manner before it is handed over to a collection point.
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally obliged to provide free take-back of waste. Conrad provides the following return options free of charge (more details on our website):

  • at the collection points of public waste management authorities or the collection points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG
