Catalog Number(s) : PSDS30, PSDS60, PSDS60HP, PSDS100
Country of Origin: Made in USA
READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
- NOTICE: For installation only by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code, local codes and the instructions provided on this document.
- CAUTION: RISKS OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. More than one disconnect switch may be required to de-energize the connected equipment before servicing. Disconnect all power supplies to this disconnect switch before removing cover and exposing interior.
- Short Circuit Ratings: Suitable for use on circuits capable of delivering not more than (see chart below for cat no.) RMS symmetrical amperes, 600 VAC maximum.

- This enclosure includes a provision for locking the switch handle in the “OFF” position. This feature accepts up to a 5/16 inch (8 mm) diameter padlock shackle. This lockout feature is designed to isolate power from the connected equipment in order to comply with OSHA lockout/tagout regulation 29 CFR part 1910.147. This feature DOES NOT isolate power supplied to this disconnect switch during internal servicing of this disconnect switch.
- This disconnect switch must NOT be used as a junction box for feed-thru connections.
- The switch in this device was available with or without a “pre-break” auxiliary contact. If the device was purchased with an auxiliary contact, the auxiliary contact’s rating is 600VAC, 10 amps. The pre-break feature allows the auxiliary contact to open slightly prior to the main contacts opening. This is useful for signaling computer controlled equipment that power will be disconnected. The auxiliary contact can be wired with one normally opened or one normally closed contact, (see diagram at right for wiring).
- Consult Pass & Seymour/Legrand distributor for auxiliary contact availability.
OUTDOOR/INDOOR: TYPE 4X WATERTIGHT, CORROSION RESISTANT
IP66/IP67/IP69 (HIGH PRESSURE, HIGH TEMPERATURE, & DUST)
INDOOR: TYPE 12 DUST TIGHT
- Loosen four (4) enclosure cover screws and lift off cover.
- Enclosure must be mounted by means of mounting feet. DO NOT drill mounting holes through enclosure.
-
Mounting feet will accept up to 5/16″ dia. screws (not provided). Device must be mounted with label reading “TOP” in upward direction. See Figure 1 for mounting dimensions.

5. Install conduit hub (not provided) with sealing ring between hub and enclosure. Tighten conduit nut securely to ensure watertight seal and ground connection.
6. Mount disconnect switch as intended on equipment, wall or other location after pre-drilling for screws per the dimensions provided in Figure 1.
7. Installing conduit directly above the switch is not recommended in applications where condensation can occur in the conduit. When using top feed entrance drip loops must always be used as in Figures 2 and 3.
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
Wire size may vary with application. Select conductors in accordance with the 75°C column of ampacity table 310-16 of the National Electric Code or Table 2 of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- CAUTION: Use copper conductors only.
- Terminals will accept the wire sizes listed in Table 1 below.
- Cleanly cut and strip 1/2” (13mm) of insulation from end of cable. DO NOT TIN CONDUCTORS.
- Connected equipment electrical rating must not exceed the rating of this device.
- Select the correct wiring diagram from wiring diagram chart and wire switch as illustrated, making sure to provide condensation drip loop as shown in Figures 2 and 3. Insert stripped cables fully into terminal openings, tighten terminal screws per Table 1.
- With switch in “OFF” position, replace enclosure cover. Tighten enclosure cover screws according to Table 1, being sure that the sealing O-rings are properly seated under each screw head.
