Installation Instructions

Kits includes:

1x Web Plate
1x F1 Flange
1xS1 Spacer

14 x 1.5” Torx Structural Fasteners

1x) 3/16” Pilot Drill Bit
1x) Torx T25 Driver

Details:

Skyline Hole Reinforcers when installed according to instructions are designed to restore the full strength of dimensional lumber joists assuming the following:

• Maximum floor dead load is 12psf and maximum live load is 40psf (PSF = Pounds per square foot).

• The hole height and width do not exceed the height of the Joist less 3”. (at least 1.5” under and over hole).

• The joist spacing is 16” on center or less (if greater that 16” o.c. The Hole Reinforcer is still beneficial and may restore full strength to the joist depending on the length of the joist span (Please contact us for further information).
  NOTE: Skyline HR and NR Hole and Notch Reinforcers may be used on 2×12’s.

• The joist span is in accordance with good engineering practices and/or tables provided in the building code.

Installation Instructions

1. Center Web Plate on Joist Hole and aligned with the top of the Joist and mark all hole locations. Center S1 Spacer about the hole aligned with the top of the Joist and mark the hole locations.
2. Construction adhesive is not necessary but does increase repair strength.
3. Pre-drill all marked hole locations using the provided 3/16” drill bit. Drill holes as straight as possible to minimize stress on the head of the fasteners.
4. Align Web Plate with holes and fasten in place starting from the bottom up using the provided fasteners. Leave the last staggered row of holes for the F1 Flange and S1 Spacer.
5. Install the F1 Flange and S1 Spacer over the Web Plate using the last row of holes and remaining fasteners.
