SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Installation of this accessory can be hazardous due to system pressures, electrical components, and equipment locations (such as a roofs or elevated structures). Only trained, qualified installers and service technicians should install, start up, and service this equipment. When installing this accessory, observe precautions in the literature and on any labels attached to the equipment, and all other safety precautions that may apply.

  • Follow all safety codes.
  • Wear safety glasses and work gloves.
  • Use care in handling and installing this accessory.

CAUTION
To avoid the possibility of electrical shock, open and tag all disconnects before installing this equipment. Be aware there may be more than one disconnect. Serious personal injury may result.
CAUTION
Only trained, qualified installers and service technicians should install, start up, and service this equipment. Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance functions such as cleaning coils. All other operations should be performed by trained service personnel. When working on the equipment, observe precautions in the literature and on tags, stickers, and labels attached to the equipment.

INTRODUCTION

The accessory condenser coil trim panels are designed to protect the ends of the condenser coils from harsh weather conditions and debris. Table 1 lists the accessory kits that are needed for 30XV140-500 units. Table 2 lists the accessory kits that are needed for 30RC065-252. Order kits accordingly. Table 3 lists the kit contents.
Check each item for shipping damage. If any damage is found, file a claim with the shipping agent immediately. If any item is missing or if any part does not assemble properly, notify your Carrier representative.

CAUTION

To avoid damage to the refrigerant coils and electrical components, use extreme care when drilling screw holes and screwing in fasteners.

INSTALLATION

  1. Lock out and tag out all disconnects.
  2.  At both the header and return bend ends of each condenser coil base, install coil cover support bracket using 2 screws per side added from below. See Fig. 1.
  3. On each side of the chiller, install one left-hand and one righthand coil cover. Use 7 screws for each coil cover,  See Fig.2.
  4.  At each end of each condenser coil section, install a center cover using 4 screws per cover. See Fig. 3.
  5.  Restore power.
