How to scan QR code

iOS (iPhone)

  1. Open the Play Store : After searching QR code reader, install it. Open the QR code reader on your android and point it at the code.

The lightning flash with the arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user about the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

Always operate the vehicle in a safe manner.
Do not become distracted by the vehicle while driving and always be fully aware of all driving conditions. Do not change settings or any functions. Pull over in a safe and legal manner before attempting such operations.
To promote safety, certain functions are disabled unless the parking brake is on.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover or back of this product. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this product to dripping or splashing water, rain, or moisture.

When driving your vehicle, be sure to keep the volume of the unit low enough to allow you to hear sounds coming from the outside.

Do not drop it and avoid heavy impacts at anytime.

The driver should not watch the monitor while driving. If the driver watches the monitor while driving, it may lead to carelessness and cause an accident.

Head unit

  1. MAP button
    • Moves to the map screen showing the current position of vehicle.
    • When the destination is set, the voice navigation starts on the map screen.
  2. NAV button
    • Moves to the navigation menu.
    • Press and hold to move to the destination search screen.
  3. RADIO button
    • Activates radio mode.
    • Each button press changes the mode in sequence of DAB (If equipped)/FM > AM > DAB (If equipped)/FM.
    • Press and hold to move to the media selection screen.
  4. MEDIA button
    • Press this button to switch between the media selection screen and media play screen.
    • Press and hold to move to the media selection screen.
  5. < SEEK/TRACK > button
    • When it is pressed shortly
    • Radio: Plays the previous or next channel.
    • Media/Voice memo: Plays the previous or next file.
    • When it is pressed and held
    • Radio: Changes the frequency until the button is released, then plays the frequency when released.
    • Media/Voice memo: Rewinds or fast-forwards the file.
  6. (Custom) button
    • User may select and use a desired feature with this button.
    • Press and hold to move to the custom button settings screen.
  7. SETUP button
    • Moves to the settings screen.
    • Press and hold to move to the general settings screen.
      Head unit

Front seat control key

  1. /VOL wheel button

    • Press briefly to turn media/radio on/ off.
    • Press and hold to turn on or off the display and the sound.
    • Turn the wheel up/down to adjust the volume.
  2. BACK button

    •  Press briefly to move to the previous screen.
    • Press and hold to move to the home screen.
  3. HOME button

    • Press briefly to move to the home screen.
    • Press and hold to move to the map screen.
  4. Finger scan sensor
    Use sensor to select the user profile or convenience features, etc.

  5. TUNE button

    • Radio (DAB (If equipped)/FM):
      Turning the wheel up/down to change the searched station.

    • Radio (AM): Turning the wheel up/ down to increases/decreases the frequency by one step.

    • Media/Voice memo: Search for a file by turning the wheel up/down.
      And, when the name of desired file is displayed, press the button to play the file.

    • Navigation: Turn up/down to change the map scale on the map screen.

  6. MENU button
    Displays a pop-up menu for each mode when pressed briefly.

  7. Controller

    • Use controller to move and select the menu as well as handwriting input.
    • Use controller to change the map scale on the map screen.
      Front seat control key

Steering wheel remote control (Right)

  1. (Voice recognition) button

    • When it is pressed shortly
    • Activates voice recognition mode.
    • When it is pressed and held
    • Activates voice recognition mode of the connected phone projection device.
    • Press and hold the button to cancel voice recognition.
  2. (Custom) button

    • User may select and use a desired feature with this button.
    • Press and hold to move to the custom button settings screen.
  3. +/- tumbler button
    Slide the tumbler up/down to adjust the volume.
    (MUTE) button
    Press the tumbler to turn mute on/off.

  4. (Bluetooth call) button
    When it is pressed shortly

    • Searches new Bluetooth phone or connects the registered phone if Bluetooth is not connected.

    • If Bluetooth is connected,

    • If selected in the call waiting screen, displays call history screen.

    • If selected in call history screen, makes a call to last called number.

    • If selected in phone entrance screen, enters the last call number.

    • If selected in phone reception alert screen, answers the phone call.

    • If selected in calling, ends the call.
      When it is pressed and held

    • When Bluetooth is connected, if selected in Bluetooth hand free waiting mode, redials.

    • If selected in calling, ends the call.

  5. MODE button

    • When it is pressed shortly

    • Selects a mode from Bluetooth audio,
      DAB (If equipped)/FM, AM, USB music,
      USB video, phone projection or sounds of nature.

    • When it is pressed and held

    • Moves to the mode button (steering wheel) settings screen.

  6. Optical touch pad
    (You can use AVN [Audio/Video/ Navigation] control if the search mode in the split screen of the cluster is not.)

    • When it is swiped
    • Radio: Moves to the previous or next frequency saved.
    • Media/Voice memo: Plays the previous or next file.
    • When it is dragged
    • Radio: Changes the frequency until you lift your finger, and then search for the frequency.
    • Media/Voice memo: Rewinds or fast-forwards the file. (Except for the mode of Sounds of nature)

Steering wheel remote control (Left)

  1. Custom button

    • User may select and use a desired feature with this button.
    • Press and hold to move to the custom button settings screen.

  3. Tumbler button
    Press or slide up/down the button to change the gauge style and view mode displayed on the cluster screen.

Basic controls

Turning the system on

  1. Press the engine start button. Once the system is turned on, the booting process will start and the safety warning page is displayed.

    • Press [Language] to change the language of the system display.
    • Press [Driver 1], [Driver 2] or [Guest] to change the profile of system.
  2. Press [Confirm].
    Note

    • You cannot operate the system while it is booting up. It may take some time for all of features of the system boot up.
    • The safety warning page is displayed every time the ACC is turned on. The displayed warnings are related to safety, please read thoroughly and comply with the safety warnings.

Turning the system off

Press and hold [:/VOL] the wheel on the front seat control key.
To turn the system on again, press [:/VOL] the wheel on the front seat control key.

Note
Check the volume when turning on the system. Before turning on the system, adjust the volume to a reasonable level.

System reset

This feature is used to reset the system in the occurrence of an unforeseen error or problem.

  1. After turning the vehicle off, press the start button once without pressing brake pedal.
  2. Press and hold [MAP] and [SETUP] on the head unit for 5 seconds to reset the system.

Using controller and touchpad

Rotate controller to left/right or use touchpad to switch or select the menu.

Controller Description
Turn the controller clockwise/counter clockwise to move the list in the

menu. Operate zoom in/zoom out on the map screen.
| Swipe up/down/left/right on touchpad to switch the menu.
| Press touchpad to select the menu. Enter character through handwriting input on a specific screen.
| Push the controller up/down/left/right/ diagonal to move the menu and map location. Push and hold the controller to scroll the location on the map.

Update

For supplementation of system software, addition of new functions, and renewal of map, update is needed.
You can update latest map and software by downloading the Navigation Updater program from internet site (http://update.genesis.com) and through USB.
For details on update, check from internet site and carry out.

  1. On the general settings screen, press [Version information].
  2. After inserting the USB with the update file, press [Update].
  3. If you press [Background update], update is in progress. After  completion, turn off the engine and the system automatically reboots.

Note

  • This product requires regular updates for software corrections, new functions and map updates. Updating may require up to 1 hour depending on the data size.
  • Turning off the power or ejecting the USB during the update process may result in update failure.

Troubleshooting

Problem: The power does not turn on.

  • Possible Cause: The fuse is disconnected.

  • Countermeasure: – Replace with a suitable fuse. – If the fuse is disconnected again, please contact your dealer.

  • Possible Cause: Device is not properly connected.

  • Countermeasure: Check to see that the device has been properly connected.

Problem: The system does not play.

  • Possible Cause: The vehicle battery is low.
  • Countermeasure: Charge the battery if the problem persists, contact your point of purchase or service center.

Problem: The video colour/tone quality is low.

  • Possible Cause: The brightness level is not set properly.
  • Countermeasure: Properly adjust the brightness level through display setup.

Problem: Sound does not work.

  • Possible Cause: The volume level is set to the lowest level.

  • Countermeasure: Adjust the volume level.

  • Possible Cause: The connection is not proper.

  • Countermeasure: Check to see that the device has been properly connected.

  • Possible Cause: The device is currently fast-forwarding, rewinding, scanning, or playing in slow mode.

  • Countermeasure: The sound will not work when the device is fast-forwarding, rewinding, scanning, or playing in slow mode.

Problem: The sound or video quality is low.

  • Possible Cause: Vibration is occurring from where the conversion switch has been installed.
  • Countermeasure: The sound may be short circuited and the video distorted if the device vibrates.

Problem: The USB does not work.

  • Possible Cause: USB memory is damaged.

  • Countermeasure: Please use after formatting the USB into FAT 16/32, exFAT, NTFS format.

  • Possible Cause: USB memory has been contaminated.

  •  Countermeasure: Remove any foreign substances on the contact surface of the USB memory and infotainment system.

  • Possible Cause: A separately purchased USB HUB is being used.

  •  Countermeasure: Directly connect the USB memory with the infotainment system on the vehicle.

  • Possible Cause: A USB extension cable is being used.

  • Countermeasure: Directly connect the USB memory with the infotainment system on the vehicle.

  • Possible Cause: A USB which is not a Metal Cover Type USB Memory is being used.

  • Countermeasure: Use standard USB Memory

  • Possible Cause: An HDD type, CF, SD Memory is being used.

  • Countermeasure: Use standard USB Memory.

  • Possible Cause: There are no music files which can be played.

  • Countermeasure: Only MP3, WMA file formats are supported. Please use only the supported music file formats.
