Product Usage Instructions

Checking and Inspecting the Fire Extinguisher:

When unpacking the extinguisher, please follow these steps:

  1. Check that the manometer needle points in the green sector.
  2. Verify that the safety pin is mounted and sealed.
  3. Ensure that the hose is mounted. If not, attach the hose.

Note: Visual inspection of the fire extinguisher is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the pressure of the extinguisher is at a satisfactory level.

How Foam Extinguishes Fires:

The foam extinguisher uses foam concentrate to extinguish fires.

The foam works in the following ways:

  • Creates a smothering film that starves the fire of oxygen.
  • Has a cooling effect on the fire.
  • Prevents the burning material from being reignited.

Fire Classes

The fire extinguisher is suitable for extinguishing fires in different classes:

  • Class A – Organic materials such as wood, paper, textiles, etc.
  • Class B – Liquid fires such as oil, gasoline, varnish, paint, etc.

Important Information

When approaching a fire, always follow these precautions:

  • Do not go too close and maintain a safety distance of at least 1 meter.
  • Check possible escape routes before attempting to approach the fire.
  • Avoid approaching the fire if there is a risk of it spreading and blocking your escape route.

How to Operate Your Fire Extinguisher

Follow these steps to use your foam extinguisher:

  1. Pull out the safety pin to free the lever.
  2. Aim the nozzle or hose at the base of the fire.
  3. Squeeze the handle to release the firefighting agent.
  4. Sweep the nozzle or hose across the base of the fire until it is fully extinguished.

Maintenance and Inspection:

For proper maintenance and inspection, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • In private residences, it is recommended to have an authorized inspection every 5 years.
  • A full service should also be conducted every 5 years.
  • All maintenance must be done according to national standards.

CHECKING AND INSPECTING THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER

  • When unpacking the extinguisher, please check that the manometer needle points in the green sector. Check that the safety pin is mounted and sealed. Make sure that the hose is mounted. If not, attach the hose.
  • IMPORTANT: Visual inspection of the fire extinguisher is the user’s responsibility, for example, that the pressure of the extinguisher is at a satisfactory level.

HOW FOAM EXTINGUISHES FIRES

  • The foam creates a smothering film and starves the fire of oxygen. It also has a cooling effect on the fire. The foam also prevents the burning material from being reignited.

FIRE CLASSES:

  • Fire extinguishers are classed using a letter-symbol system which denotes the type of fire they are suitable to extinguish.
  • Class A – Organic materials such as wood, paper, textiles, etc.
  • Class B – Liquid fires such as oil, gasoline, varnish, paint, etc.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Always use caution when approaching a fire. Do not go too close to the fire and keep a safety distance of at least 1 meter. Always check the possible escape routes first.
  • Do not try to approach the fire in case there is a risk that it can spread so that your escape route is blocked.

  • Keep the extinguisher clean. Do not use corrosive cleaning agents.
  • Fire extinguishers in vehicles must be securely fastened using a suitable bracket.
  • The fire extinguisher should be kept out of reach for young children.
  • This extinguisher contains a blended foam concentrate. It is nontoxic but can irritate the eyes and skin.
  • First   aid: Eyes: Flush with water for ten minutes. Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. If inhaled: Breathe fresh air and rest.
  • If swallowed: Drink two glasses of water. If symptoms of irritation remain, consult a doctor.
  • Must not be discarded in the normal household waste. On disposal, provide fire extinguishers to your recycling center.
  • Evocolit Class AB Green PFC free does not contain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
