Product Usage Instructions

Safety Precautions:
Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate, or install the product.

WARNING:
Pressure tank PSI must be 2 PSI below the cut-in pressure of the pressure switch. If not set correctly, the system may not operate correctly. Refer to Table 1 above for details.

Starting the Pump with Low Cut Off Pressure Switches:
To start the pump using a low cut-off pressure switch, follow these steps:

  1. Hold the lever in the start position until the pump has reached the required cut-in pressure.
  2. Failure to hold the lever will cause the pump to not work properly.
  3. The positions are noted on the side of the pressure switch cover.

Wiring the Pressure Switch:
Follow these steps to wire the pressure switch:

  1. Before installing a new switch, verify the air pressure of the pressure tank after draining it of all water. Locate the air valve and check using an automotive tire pressure gauge.
  2. Screw the pressure switch into the 1/4 in. opening on the side of the flow control and remove the switch cover.
  3. Insert an electrical wire strain relief into the opening on the side of the pressure switch as shown.
  4. Thread the cable from the pump motor through the strain relief into the pressure switch cavity and tighten both screws on the strain relief. Do not crush the wire.
  5. Connect the two motor wires of the motor cable to the two inside terminals on the pressure switch.
  6. Connect the green ground wire from the motor cable to one of the green ground screws at the bottom of the pressure switch.
  7. Insert an electrical wire strain relief into the opening on the opposite side of the pressure switch.
  8. Thread the cable from the power supply through the strain relief and tighten both screws on the strain relief. Do not crush the wire.
  9. Connect the two wires from the power supply to the two outside terminals on the pressure switch.
  10. Connect the green ground wire from the power supply to the remaining green ground screw in the pressure switch, and re-attach the pressure switch cover.

Adjusting Pressure Switch Range:
To adjust the pressure switch range, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off or disconnect all power before servicing the pump system or removing the pressure switch cover.
  2. Drain all water from the tank before measuring the PSI of the pressure tank.
  3. Turn the primary adjustment screw clockwise to increase both cut-in and cut-out pressure (down) or counter-clockwise to decrease cut-in and cut-out pressure (up).

NOTE FOR LOW CUT-OFF PRESSURE SWITCHES:
To start the pump using a low cut-off pressure switch, you must hold the lever in the start position until the pump has reached the required cut-in pressure. Failure to do so will cause the pump to not work properly. The positions are noted on the side of the pressure switch cover.

WIRING THE PRESSURE SWITCH

  1. Before installing a new switch, be sure to verify the air pressure of the pressure tank after draining it of all water. Locate the air valve and check using an automotive tire pressure gauge.
  2. Screw the pressure switch into the 1/4 in. opening on the side of the flow control and remove the switch cover.
  3. Insert an electrical wire strain relief into the opening in the side of the pressure switch as shown.

ADJUSTING PRESSURE SWITCH RANGE

  1. Establish the current turn-on and shut-off point of the water pressure tank.

    • WARNING: Turn off or disconnect all power before servicing the pump system or removing the pressure switch cover.
    • NOTE: Be sure to drain all water from the tank before measuring the PSI of the pressure tank.H2OPRO-148183-Low-Cut-Off-Pressure-Switch-fig- \(3\)
  2. Turn the primary adjustment screw clockwise to increase both cut-in and cut-out pressure (down) or counterclockwise to decrease cut-in and cut-out pressure (up).
WARNING: Tank PSI must be 2 PSI below the cut-in pressure of the new pressure switch. If not set correctly the pump may run in short cycles or damage components connected to the water system. See Table 1 for details.

  3. If there is a need to change the pressure differential (cut-off pressure only), the smaller adjustment screw should be turned clockwise to increase (down) and counter-clockwise to decrease (up).
WARNING: In addition to the tank conditions, piping and other items are set to operate within normal 20/40 or 30/50 systems. Exceeding 60 PSI can damage some products and components connected to the water systems.

  4. Cycle system a minimum of 4 times to ensure pressures are operating as desired.
