Precautions

Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E, NOM-029-STPS-2011 or CSA Z462 or local equivalent.
This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified electrical personnel.
Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside equipment.
Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
Use with copper wire only.
Indoor use only for TR receptacle.
Replace all devices, doors, and covers before turning on power to this equipment.

Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Installation

Turn off all power. Use a properly-rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
Wire the device according to Figure 1, using appropriate wiring methods.
A. Push-in: Accept only #14 AWG solid copper wire. Insert straight #14 AWG solid copper with strip length of 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) into round push-in holes. For circuits with #12 AWG copper wires, use terminal screws instead. Compatible with SQR42101 and SQR42104.
NOTE: Push-in terminals are not for reuse.
B. Back wire: Insert straight #12–14 AWG solid copper wire with strip length of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) into clamp of appropriate terminal.
C. Side wire: Connect #12–14 AWG solid copper wire with strip length of 0.625 inch (15.875 mm). Loop clockwise 2/3 of the way around the screw.

Mount the device by tightening the screws.
Install the wall plate (not included) on the device matching “top” marking with “top.” See Figure 2.
Restore power.
