ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Loosely thread the hex nut (DD) onto the nipple (AA) and then install this assembly onto the mounting strap (CC). Next, install this assembly to the outlet box using the mounting screws supplied with the outlet box (not included).

  2. In this step, you will adjust the depth Of the nipple about the canopy depth. Take the canopy (E) and slip it over the nipple (AA). You will need to adjust the nipple so at least 1/4″ Of the threaded portion is exposed through the canopy hole. This is done by adjusting the depth of the nipple (AA) on the mounting strap (CC). When the nipple depth is correctly adjusted, remove the canopy (E) and tighten the hex nut (DD) against the mounting strap (CC).

  3. Slip the fixture (A) wires through stem (D). Thread stem (D) into fixture (A).

  4. NOTE : During this step, determine the hanging length Of your fixture by removing chain links (FF) and optionally cutting the electrical and ground wire to length.
Do NOT cut electrical or ground wires until this overall length is determined. Leave AT LEAST 6 inches MINIMUM Of wire past the canopy (E) to allow for easy connections in step 5.
(Chain links can be spread open with 2 pairs of pliers. Twist the split link ends in opposite directions and close by squeezing them back together.)
Determine the hanging height of the fixture (A) and adjust both chains (FF) at this time. Open the chain link at one end Of the chain (FF) and slip through the chain loop (D). Close the chain links back together with the pliers. Open the quick link (GG) and slip through the chain loop (E) and the other end of the chain (FF). Close the quick link (GG).
Be sure chains are not twisted and align evenly with one another. With the wires exiting the fastened loop (D), weave the wire and ground wire through every third chain link (FF), having them exit up through the canopy loop (E) and out the back Of the canopy (E).
With the chain links (FF) closed and all the loops (D) fastened securely, have someone help you hold up the fixture by the canopy (E) and visually inspect the chain lengths, making sure the fixture hangs evenly.

  5. Strip 3/8″ Of insulation from the electrical wire ends. Using wire nuts (BB), connect the RIBBED fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box; connect the SMOOTH fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire. Connect the fixture ground wire and supply ground wire using a wire nut or by fastening it to the ground screw on the mounting strap. Push all wire connections into the outlet box.

  6. Position and attach the canopy (E) onto the nipple (AA) and use the cylinder nut (EE) to secure the canopy (E) tightly to the ceiling.

  7. Attach the glass shade (B) to the fixture (A) using the socket ring (C) to secure it tightly. Thread the lamps (not included) into the fixture sockets. Use 60-watt MAX incandescent medium base, SBCFL or SBLED.PROGRESS-LIGHTING-P400348-012-Adley-Linear-Chandelier-Ceiling-Light-FIG-11
