  • When the appliance is connected to the power supply, never leave it unattended.
  • Always place the appliance with the stand, if any, ona heat-resistant, stable flat  surface.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced  by the manufacturer, itsservice agent or similarly qualified persons in order to  avoid a hazard.
  •  Never wrap the supply cord around the appliance especially after use as this  can damage the supply cord.
  • Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged supply cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped into water.
  • Appliance should be disconnected when not in use and allowed to cool down  before storage.
  • Do not operate this appliance with an extension cord.

Before Frist Use

  • Remove all the packing materials.
  • Remove and review all components before use.
  • Check the appliance for transport damages.

Operation

5.1 Interchangeable barrels
(BO8P5GZNM4 and BO8P5HGJFZ only)
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The heating surfaces (I) of the appliance (attachments) are hot during use and while cooling down. Allow to cool down before changing the attachments.

  1. Rotate the locking-ring (F) until the arrow on the attachment is aligned with UNLOCK arrow to release the attachment from the handle (E).

  2. Select the desired attachment.

Barrel Use
Large large, long curls
Medium medium, long curls
Tapered small, tapered curls
Bubble small, even curls
  1. Align the arrow marking on the attachment with the UNLOCK arrow marking on the locking-ring (F).
  2. To lock the attachment in place, rotate the locking-ring (F) until the arrow on the attachment is aligned with the LOCK arrow.

5.2 Switching on/off
CAUTION
Risk of burns!

  • The heating surfaces (I) of the appliance (attachments) are hot during use and while cooling down.
    Do not touch!

  • The heat-resistant glove (N) helps protect fingers from excessive heat from the heating surface (I) during styling for limited time. The glove (N) does not protect from touching the heating surface (I) directly and it does not protect from other heat
    sources.

  1. Rest the appliance on its stand (G) ona heat-resistant, stable flat surface.
  2. Connect the plug (D) to a socket outlet.
  3. Set the ON/OFF switch (B) to ON to switch on the appliance. The power indicator (A) lights up and the appliance heats up.

5.3 Use
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
Do not touch scalp or skin with the heating surfaces.
NOTICE
When using the appliance on coloured hair, the heating surfaces may stain.
NOTICE
Always wear the heatresistant glove (N) when using the appliance.

  1. Clean and dry/nearly dry your hair.
  2. Test a small section of hair before using the appliance on larger/exposed areas.
  3. Use a comb and take a section of hair not wider than 5 cm and not thicker  than 1 cm.
  4. Carefully wrap the hair around the  heating surface of the appliance (attachment).
  5. Hold the curl in place for up to 15-20 seconds for tight curls or if hair is hard to curl. Hold for shorter time if hair is easy to curl, or if you want loose curls or just waves.
  6. Repeat until the desired styling has been achieved.
  7. When finished and all curls have cooled, gently brush and comb hair  into the desired style.

3 5.4 After Use

  1. Set the ON/OFF switch (B) to OFF to switch off the appliance. The power indicator (A) goes off.
  2. Disconnect the plug (D) from the socket outlet.
  3. Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface or use the hanging loop (C) to hang the appliance and allow to cool down.
  4. Clean the appliance and heating surface (H)/attachments.

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING
Risk of electric shock!

  1. To prevent electric shock, unplug the  appliance before cleaning.
  2. During cleaning do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.

6.1 Cleaning

  • To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
  • Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning.
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire ,brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the appliance.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
  • Never wrap the supply cord around the product especially after use as this can damage the power cord. Handle the power cord carefully and avoid jerking, twisting, or straining it, especially at plug connections.

6.3 Plug fuse replacement (for UK only)

  • Use a flat screwdriver to open the fuse compartment cover.
  • Remove the fuse and replace with the same type (13 A, BS1362). Refit the cover.

6.4 Maintenance

  • Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair centre.
