Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use.
If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:
Risk of injury! This product is not intended for use in cooking environments that exceed 300 °C. There is a battery in the thermometer and the probe may melt or catch fire, creating a hazard to the user. Do not leave in an oven or grill during cooking.
Risk of injury! This product contains a sharp probe that becomes hot during cooking. Wear heat-resistant gloves when handling the probe.
Risk of injury! The product has sharp edges, handle with care.

  • Do not place the thermometer on or near hot surfaces.
  • Do not heat beyond thermometer’s temperature capacity.
  • Do not allow any part of the temperature probe to come into direct contact with flames or flare-ups.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Not for microwave use.
  • Clean by hand using damp cloth.
  • This product is not waterproof. Do not use it in rainy conditions.

This symbol identifies that the materials provided are safe for food contact and comply with European Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004.

Battery Warnings

  • Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from product and properly disposed.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
  • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
  • Remove batteries from product if it is not to be used for an extended period of time unless it is for emergency purposes.
  • If the battery leaks avoid contact with skin and eyes. Rinse affected areas immediately with plenty of clean water, then consult a doctor.
  • Keep the button cell batteries away from children. Risk of ingestion and suffocation!
  • Always insert batteries correctly with regards to polarity (+ and –) marked on the battery and the product.

Intended Use

  • This product is intended for measuring barbecue meat temperature.
  • This product is intended for household use only. It is not intended for commercial use.
  • This product is intended to be used in dry indoor and outdoor areas only.
  • No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.

Before First Use

  • Check the product for transport damages.
  • Remove all the packing materials.
  • Clean the product before first use.

Risk of suffocation! Keep any packaging materials away from children – these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

Operation

The battery is pre-installed. To activate it, remove the insulation tape at the battery compartment (H).

Inserting batteries
The low battery indicator (AB) appears on the display, when the battery is exhausted.

  • Open the battery compartment (H) on the backside of the product.
  • Remove the old battery and insert a new battery, observing correct polarity.
  • Close the battery compartment.

NOTICE Always insert batteries correctly with regards to polarity (+ and –) marked on the battery and the product.

Switching on/off

  • Remove the product from the sleeve (F).
  • Set the ON/OFF (J) switch to the ON position. An audio signal is emitted.
  • Set the ON/OFF (J) switch to the OFF position after use.

Choosing the temperature scale
Select the temperature unit Celsius or Fahrenheit, using the °C/°F switch (I).

Checking the temperature

  • Remove the meat or poultry from the oven or BBQ-grill.
  • Insert the tip of the probe (E) at least 2.5 cm into the thickest part of the meat or poultry.
  • When the temperature reading is stable, press the HOLD button (A) to lock the temperature display.
  • “HOLD” appears on the display (B).
  • When HOLD mode is activated, the thermometer can be removed to read the temperature clearly if the viewing angle is difficult.

NOTICE For accurate results, the probe should not make contact with bone or gristle.

Probe insertion tip

Insert the tip of the probe as close to the middle of the meat as possible without piercing through.

  • Following is a list of temperatures for doneness of different foods:

Adjusting the viewing angle

Choose from 3 positions for convenient reading of the display information.

Timer setting

  • To set the timer, press the +H button (G), to set the hours and the +M button (D),to set the minutes.
  • The count-down time is shown on the display (B).
  • Press the  button (C) to start the timer.
  • When the set time is finished, an audio signal sounds and the Display flashes. Press the  button to silence the sound.

Stopwatch setting

  • The stopwatch function does not need to set a time limit. Simply, press the Start/Stop button (C) to start.
  • The stopwatch counts up to 99 hours, 59 minutes.

NOTICE To pause the timer during a timer or stopwatch setting, press the +M – or the +H- button. To reset the timer, press the +M and the +H button together.

Cleaning and Maintenance

NOTICE Switch the product off before cleaning.
NOTICE During cleaning do not immerse the electrical parts of the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.

Cleaning

  • To clean the product, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
  • Wash the metal probe (E) and the probe sleeve (F) with hot soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • Dry the product after cleaning.
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.

Storage

  • Take out the battery when storing the product for a long period.
  • Store the product in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.

Maintenance

  • Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Disposal
