Mounting

Hanging
The fixture can be mounted in a hanging position using the quicklock brackets. Fixture must be safe mounted in accordance with the relevant regulations and provided with a safetycord to prevent falling. Standing
The fixture can be mounted in an upright or sitting position. A safe and sufficient anti-slip ground must be ensured!

NOTE
The LED module can be operated in any position.

DMX-Connection

  • ENTER:  Enter the currently selected menu

Setting DMX-Address
The DMX start address of the fixture is set in the menu ADDRESS. This is retained even when changing the personality.

Setting DMX-Personality
The personality is set in the menu PERSON. There are three different modes which can be chosen: BASIC (20 channels), STANDARD (24 channels) and EXTEND (28 channels).

Setting Runmode

  • The operating mode is set in the menu RUNMODE.
  • For operation on a DMX-controller DMX512 needs to be set.
  • To control the fixture via ArtNet, the mode ARTNET needs to be set.
  • In the mode ARTNET2DMX the chosen universe of the ArtNet input signal will be sent to the XLR- connectors.
  • To control the unit via sACN the mode SACN needs to be set.
  • To run an auto program choose AUTO.

In modes CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2 it is possible to run a self created program. This is explained in Editing of user-defined programs. Custom programs are sent to connected slave fixtures. These signals are sent via the dmx-line. It may disturb other fixtures on the same dmx-line.

Miscellaneous Settings

  • PAN INVERT: inverts PAN-movement.
  • TILT INVERT: inverts TILT-movement.
  • FANS: SLOW/NORMAL/FAST/AUTO regulates the fan performance balance.
  • BLACKOUT: dims off the unit for Pan/Tilt movement.
  • DIMMER: controls different dim curves to simulate a halogen bulb (DIM4/DIM3/DIM2/DIM1/OFF). LED-PWM: Sets PWM-frequency (1200Hz/2400Hz/4000Hz/6000Hz/25000Hz).
  • DMX ERROR: sets how the fixture responses if DMX-signal gets lost. Set SAVE to hold the last received value or BLACK for blackout.
  • DISPLAY ON: defines how long the display illumination stays active after the last input. You can set illumination time to SHORT or LONG.
  • DISPLAY LOCK: locks (ON) or unlocks (OFF) display to prevent fixture from unauthorised access. Enter password to unlock display.
  • LOAD PARA : This function sends user settings to all fixtures of the same type which are connected via dmx-cable to each other on the same dmx-line.
  • SETTING\RECOVERY: sets all settings to factory default. To execute this function you need to enter a password.
  • SETTING\CLEAN EDIT X: CLEAN EDIT 1 and CLEAN EDIT 2 deletes the self created scenes for CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2.
  • SETTING\WDMX HIDE : hides the WDMX settings in the menu (NO), or sets them visible again (YES).
  • NETWORK\NET SWITCH: activates/deactivates the integrated ArtNet node.
  • NETWORK\IP MODE : submenu for setting the ip-address. Users can choose between DEFAULT IP or CUSTOM IP. If set to CUSTOM IP the users needs to set a custom ip in the next step.
  • NETWORK\CUSTOM IP EDIT: in this menu a user defined ip-address can be set.
  • NETWORK\UNIVERS : the universe of the ArtNet node is set.
  • PT ENCODER : Swaps channels for PAN and TILT.
  • WDMX RESET : Unlinks the existing connection and enables the pairing with another transmitter.
  • SIGNAL : In this menu the user can how the fixture is controlled:
    • if the fixture is controlled via dmx-cable (ONLY XLRDMX).
    • if signal on XLR connectors has higher priority than the WDMX signal (XLRDMX FIRST).
    • if the fixture is controlled by WDMX signal (ONLY WDMX).
    • if the WDMX signal has higher priority than the signal at the XLR connectors (WDMX FIRST).
    • if WDMX signal is sent to the XLR connectors (WDMX TO XLRDMX).

Editing of user-defined programs

  • In the menu EDIT, submenus EDIT1/2 two user-defined program can be edited.
  • Each program can have up to 30 steps (STEP01 – STEP30).
  • Every step persists of the parameter PAN, TILT, PT SPEED, CYAN (CMY_C), MAGENTA (CMY_M), YELLOW (CMY_Y), COLOR (wheel), Rotating Gobo (ROTA.GOBO), Gobo Rotation (GOBO.ROTA), FIXED GOBO, PRISM, FROST, ZOOM, FOCUS,
  • DIMMER, STROBE, TIME and USE.
  • In the submenu USE single steps can be set active (YES) or inactive (NO).
  • User-defined programs can be transfered to other fixtures (see OPTION\LOAD PARA).
  • Step-by-step programming of the custom stand-alone programs with up to 30 different steps.

NOTE : For less than 30 steps the TIME of the last step needs to be set to 0.

Example for time settings of a stand-alone program with 3 steps:

  • Step 1
    TIME = 4 USE = YES

  • Step 2
    TIME = 5 USE = YES

  • Step 3
    TIME = 0 USE = YES

Auto-Test Menu

EXPOLITE-led29050-WD-600-Hybrid-fig- \(16\) In the menu MANUAL, submenu AUTO TEST the fixtures runs an auto test on all channels. In the submenu CHANNEL single channels of the unit can be tested individually over their whole DMX-range. The submenu DEBUG HIDE is the factory testmode. All stepper motors can not be controlled via DMX when this mode is active. This can only be changed after a reset of the fixture.

In RESET different parts of the fixture can be reset by the user individually:

  • ALL RESET : runs a reset of all channels.
  • PT RESET : runs a reset of the Pan-/Tilt-channels.
  • COLOR SYS : runs a reset of the colour channels.
  • GOBO SYST : runs a reset of the gobo channels.
  • OTHER : runs a reset of the channels focus, zoom and prism.

Info-Menü

The following information can be checked in the info-menu:

  • F IXTURE HOURS: Number of operating hours of the fixture.
  • LED USE HOURS: Number of operating hours LED-unit.
  • TEMPERATURE: Current temperature of the LED-unit.
  • VERSION: the currently installed firmware version is shown.
  • NETWORK PARA : shows the currently set network parameters.
  • RDM : In the submenu UID the RMD-ID of the fixture is shown.

In the submenu LABEL the model name of the fixture can be found. In the submenu SYSTEM ERROR you can find the error message of the different sensors. It is differed in errors in light barriers (ENCODER), hall sensors (RESET) and other sensors (SENSOR).

DMX-Channel assignment
This device has two DMX personalities. In each personality a different number of DMX channels is used and the reaction of the device differs accordingly. There are three DMX personalities with 20, 24 and 28 channels selectable. Because of changes in the firmware of the fixture, functions can be added or changed. You can find the current version „DMX-Channels“ as PDF-file on the website, ready to download.
