**Installation Notes:

**

• A factory service manual is recommended for the removal of any factory components
• This skid plate is compatible with other Barnes 4wd JK skid plates
• This skid plate may not be compatible with other brands of aftermarket skid plates
• This product is compatible with all 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK’s and JKU’s
• If installing complete kit install engine skid plate while installing transfer case skid kit

Tools required:

• 14mm socket
• Ratchet
• 4” Extension
• ¾” Combination wrench
• ¾” Socket

Step 1: Remove the factory transfer case skid plate and the transmission pan skid if equipped.

Step 2: Install the 2 engine skid mounting brackets. Both brackets will bolt to the underside of the motor mounts. The driver side bracket bolts to the hole closest to the rear of the Jeep, the passenger side bracket will bolt to the hole closest to the front of the Jeep. Washers have been provided to install under the head of the bolt and under the locknut. Install all hardware hand tight at this time.

Step 3: Install the 2 provided flag nuts in the crossmember at the locations in the images below.

Step 4: Lift the engine skid up to the bottom of the transfer case skid. Install the three bolts in the crossmember with the provided bolt head protectors. The center position will reuse one of the factory bolts, the two outside positions will use the provided 1/2” x 1-1/2” bolts.

Step 5: Install the bolts for the front mounting brackets, washers have been provided to be installed under the head of the bolt and under the lock nut. The drivers side bracket will be installed on the inside of the skid plate, the passenger side bracket will need to go on the outside of the skid plate. After both bolts are installed torque all hardware to the values listed below.

Step 6: Install the oil change door with the provided 5/16” bolt and torque to 12 Ft-Lbs.
Congratulations installation is complete!
