PRODUCT OVERVIEW
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the shredder head is pushed down fi rmly and fi
tted evenly onto the cabinet. This machine has a safety interlock that will
prevent operation unless the shredder head is correctly fi tted and the bin is
firmly closed.

Installation
- Make sure the shredder head is mounted securely onto the waste bin. See illustration 1-2-3
- Connect the electricity plug to any standard power socket
Operation
The switch on your Swordfi sh shredder enables you to select one of the followings settings:
- auto – with this setting the shredder is automatically started by inserting paper into the feed slot. With the electrical cord plugged in, the slide switch in the auto position and the shredder wastebasket properly in place, the ready LED will light up
- rev – in the unlikely event of paper jam, the reverse setting can be used to help clear the cutters of paper that has not passed through properly
- off – this setting turns off all functions of the shredder
Capacity
This Swordfi sh shredder will shred:
- up to 10 sheets of 80gsm paper with a max width of 220mm
- credit cards through the credit card slot in the middle of the paper feed opening
Continuous shredding should not last more than 3 minutes, after which the shredder should be allowed to cool down for 20 minutes before continuing. If the shredder is used continuously for more than 3 minutes, the shredder will automatically switch itself off . After an auto power off , put the switch into the off position for 50 minutes before turning the shredder back on.
In case of a minor paper jam:
The overload LED will light up. Grasp the excess paper from the top and pull
it out as you press the reverse button.
Warning
- Do not place fi ngers too close to the feed slot as serious injury may occur
- Always disconnect the power plug before cleaning a Swordfi sh shredder
- Repairs must be carried out by a specialist. There are no user-serviceable parts inside a Swordfi sh shredder
- Keep the waste bin emptied so that the shredder output is not impeded
- Swordfi sh shredders should only be used within the defi ned capacity
- Keep all loose articles of clothing, ties, jewellery, long hair or other loose objects away from opening
- Keep children away from the machine. This shredder is not a toy
- Do not pass paper clips or soft plastics through the shredder
- Shredders should be oiled on a regular basis and before any period of intensive shredding
- Lubrication should always be done when the shredder is cold. Never add oil to a hot shredder

Swordfi sh Document Shredders
SWORDFISH 2-YEARS LIMITED WARRANTY FOR PARTS AND LABOUR
Swordfi sh document shredders are warranted against failure or malfunction due
to faulty components or workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of
purchase by the original consumer. Defects or failures, which have been caused
by incorrect or wrongful use, regardless whether unintentional or intentional
during the operation or maintenance of the device, are excluded from the
warranty. There are no user serviceable parts inside a Swordfi sh shredder.
Unauthorized repair or attempts to service the unit will invalidate the
warranty. Oiling is an essential part of shredder maintenance and is necessary
in order to maintain the warranty. Swordfi sh document shredders have been
designed to shred only those materials outlined within the instructions*.
Non-compliance with Swordfi sh’s instructions will invalidate the warranty.
For service of the unit under warranty, please return your Swordfi sh offi ce
machine with proof of purchase to your dealer or contact Swordfi sh customer
service. In the event of returning the machine under warranty, suitable
packaging must be used. Insuffi cient packaging resulting in damage will
invalidate the warranty.
- Please note that shredding sheets fastened by staples or paperclips will progressively wear down the cutting blades.
For CD/DVD shredding, Swordfi sh shredders have been designed to shred up to 100 CDs/DVDs during the warranty period. Damage caused by excessive shredding of fastened sheets, CDs or DVDs is not covered within the warranty
