Important Safety Instructions
Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this
appliance is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be
included.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons
including the following:
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
- For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
This symbol indicates that appliance should not be placed in a bathtub,
shower, or water-filled reservoir.
WARNING Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other
vessels containing water.
CAUTION Risk of burns!
Keep appliance out off reach from young children, particularly during use
and cool down.
- When the appliance is connected to the power supply, never leave it unattended.
- Always place the appliance with the stand, if any, on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not use accessories or parts other then those provided with the appliance.
- Never wrap the supply cord around the appliance especially after use as this can damage the supply cord.
- Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged supply cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped into water.
- Appliance should be disconnected when not in use and allowed to cool down before storage.
- Do not operate this appliance with an extension cord.

- This appliance is intended for styling dry human hair. Do not use on artificial hair or animal hair/fur.
- This appliance is intended for household use only.
- This appliance is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.
- No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.

Before First Use
DANGER Risk of suffocation!
Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets – these materials are
a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.
- Remove all the packing materials.
- Remove and review all components before use.
- Check the appliance for transport damages.
Operation
5.1 Switching on/off
CAUTION Risk of burns!
- The heating surfaces of the appliance are hot during use and while cooling down. Do not touch!
- The heat-resistant glove (L) helps protect fingers from excessive heat from the heating surface (F) during styling for limited time. The glove does not protect from touching the heating surface (F) directly and it does not protect from other heat sources.

Rest the appliance on its stand (E) on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.

Connect the plug (C) to a socket outlet.

Press (H) to switch on the appliance.
The display (A) shows the default temperature of 180 °C, then heats up automatically to reach that temperature. -
Press + (J) and – (1) to select the required temperature. Take extra care when selecting the temperature to prevent hair damage.
Select the correct temperature setting for your hair type.

- The set temperature flashes 3 times on the display (A) before showing the current temperature.
- Press and hold (H) for 2 seconds to lock all buttons. The symbol is shown on the display (A).
- Press and hold (H) for 2 seconds to unlock all buttons. The symbol is no longer shown on the display (A).
NOTICH This appliance is equipped with automatic shut-off. This safety feature switches the appliance off after 60 minutes, if the timer was not adjusted, in case you accidentally leave it on after styling.
5.2 Timer
- Press M (K) to display the remaining time in minutes. The default timer is set to 60 minutes.
- Press + (J) and – (1) to adjust the timer. The timer can be set between 0 and 90 minutes.
- After a few seconds the timer is set and the display (A) shows the current temperature.
5.3 Use
CAUTION Risk of burns!
Do not touch scalp or skin with the heating surfaces.
NOTICE When using the appliance on coloured hair, the heating surfaces
may stain.
NOTICE Select a temperature setting suitable for the hair to be styled.
When using the appliance for the first time, select a low temperature setting
first before increasing it.
- Clean and dry/nearly dry your hair.
- Test a small section of hair before using the appliance on larger/exposed areas.
- Use a comb and take a section of hair not wider than 5 cm and not thicker than 1 cm.
- Carefully wrap the hair around the heating surface of the appliance.
- Hold the curl in place for up to 15-20 seconds for tight curls or if hair is hard to curl. Hold for shorter time if hair is easy to curl, or if you want loose curls or just waves.
- Repeat until the desired styling has been achieved.
- When finished and all curls have cooled, gently brush and comb hair into the desired style.
5.4 After Use
- Press (H) to switch off the appliance.
- Disconnect the plug (C) from the socket outlet.
- Place the appliance on its stand (E) on a heat-resistant surface or use the hanging loop (B) to hang the appliance and allow to cool down.
- Clean the appliance and heating surface (F).
Cleaning and Maintenance
WARNING Risk of electric shock!
- To prevent electric shock, unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- During cleaning do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.
6.1 Cleaning
- To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
- Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the appliance.
6.2 Storage
- Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.
- Never wrap the supply cord around the product especially after use as this can damage the power cord. Handle the power cord carefully and avoid jerking, twisting, or straining it, especially at plug connections.
6.3 Plug fuse replacement (for UK only)
- Use a flat screwdriver to open the fuse compartment cover.
- Remove the fuse and replace with the same type (13 A, BS1362). Refit the cover.
6.4 Maintenance
- Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair centre.
