Product Information
The KAP00.000GY is a kitchen scale attachment designed to be used with the KHC29, KHC29A, KM240, KM260, KM280, and KHH30 Kitchen Machines. It is powered by 3 AAA batteries (supplied in the pack and has a maximum weighing capacity of 6kg/13lb 3oz. The scale features touch pads for operation and has a flat horizontal surface for accurate weighing.

Safety
- Read these instructions carefully and retain for future reference.
- Remove all packaging and any labels.
- Before fitting, removing, or replacing batteries, ensure that the attachment is removed from your Kitchen Machine.
- Use only Zinc/Alkaline Batteries (3 x AAA) for the scale. Do not use Lithium batteries.
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
- Do not mix different types of batteries or new and used batteries.
- Keep new and used batteries out of the reach of children. If a battery is swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- Used and leaking batteries are to be removed from the appliance and disposed of immediately and safely according to local authority’s disposal policy.
- If the scale is to be stored unused for a long period of time, remove the batteries.
- The battery supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
- Children from 8 years and above can use, clean, and perform user maintenance on this appliance under supervision and with proper instruction.
- Persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of knowledge using this appliance must have supervision or instruction on its safe use.
- Children less than 8 years old must be supervised and kept away from the appliance.
Usage Instructions
- Ensure the attachment is thoroughly clean and dry before each use.
- Place the Kitchen Machine and scale attachment on a flat horizontal surface.
- Make sure the Kitchen Machine is switched off before weighing.
- Do not weigh into the bowl while the Kitchen Machine is running.
- Press the touch pads gently and avoid using sharp objects to operate them.
- Do not overload the scale by exceeding the maximum weighing capacity of 6kg/13lb 3oz.
- Avoid subjecting the scale to excessive force.
- Turn the speed control of your Kitchen Machine to the ‘OFF’ position and unplug it before fitting or removing tools/attachments, after use, and before cleaning.

- To install the batteries, open and remove the battery compartment cover. Fit the batteries ensuring they are fitted in the correct +/- orientation. Replace and close the battery compartment cover.
- Ensure the batteries are fitted in the correct +/- orientation.
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
- Do not mix different types of batteries or new and used batteries.
- When replacing batteries, use only Zinc/Alkaline Batteries. Do not use Lithium batteries.

If you think a battery might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, it can lead to chemical burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. Seek medical attention immediately.

- Do not overload the scale by exceeding the maximum weighing capacity of 6kg/13lb 3oz as this may damage the weighing sensor.
- Do not subject the scale to excessive force.
- Turn the speed control of your Kitchen Machine to the ‘OFF’ position and unplug before fitting or removing tools/attachments, after use and before cleaning.
- Do not place hot food or hot containers such as saucepans on to the scale
- Only use the appliance for its intended domestic use. Kenwood will not accept any liability if the appliance is subject to improper use, or failure to comply with these instructions.
Cleaning
- Do not immerse in water. Attachment not suitable for use in a dishwasher. ?? Wipe with a damp cloth, and dry thoroughly.
- Do not use abrasive or chemical agents to clean.

Battery Installation
Refer to Illustrations C – E
IMPORTANT
Before fitting or replacing batteries ensure that the scale attachment is
removed from your Kitchen Machine.
- Unclip the battery cover on the underside of the scale.
- Insert 3 x AAA batteries into the battery compartment in the correct orientation – refer to illustration D. 3 Replace the battery cover.
Note – During use, if the battery symbol ’ appears in the display, it means that battery power is low and the batteries should be replaced.
To Fit Your Scale Attachment

IMPORTANT
Before fitting the scale attachment, ensure that the bowl and fixing screw are
removed from your Kitchen Machine.
- Place your kitchen machine onto the scale attachment.
- Note: the edges of your kitchen machine should line up with the edges of the attachment.
- Insert the fixing screw into the hole in the pedestal and turn clockwise to secure in place.
To Weigh

IMPORTANT
- Ensure that the load cell feet of the attachment are clean and dry before use.
- Always place the assembled unit on a clean, dry and flat surface prior to weighing.
- Fit the bowl, turn clockwise to lock.
- Press the ON/ZERO touch pad to switch the scale on.
- When the display shows ‘0’, place the items to be weighed into the bowl. The weight will appear on the display.
- To weigh more than one item, press the ON/ZERO button before weighing each item.
Note : The scale will read ‘ ’ if it is trying to weigh above its capacity of 6kgs.
To Select Weighing Units
Refer to Illustration K
- After switching on the scale, press the kg/lb touch pad to switch between different units. Each time the touch pad is pressed the unit displayed will alternate between K and g, and lb and oz.
Auto Switch Off
Automatic switch off will occur if the scale shows the same weight reading for
2 minutes or no button has been pressed for 4 minutes.
Manual Switch Off
To conserve the battery power, switch off the scale when not in use. To do
this, press and hold the ‘on/zero’ touch pad until the display disappears.
