B-TEK DD 1010 Skynet Weighing Terminal
MAIN SCREEN
- “Gear Button ” – Will bring pop-up the scale control (Image on Right).
- “Zero Button ” – Will zero the weight on the scale, zero percentage and timer can be set in the scales section (Page 8 of 11) in the Zero Button.
- “lb Button” – Changes between primary and secondary unit of measure.
- “Select Scale Button ” – Will switch the weight displayed on the weight viewer if multiple scale cards are detected.
- “About Button ” – Displays the currently running application.
- “Auto Tare Button ” – Will set the current weight as the Tare for the scale. Also have manual tare and clear tare features.
- “Weigh Truck Button ” – Will Start the Truck I/O Process by bringing up a prompt asking for the Hauler and Truck ID.
- “Update Tare Button ” – Will prompt asking for the Hauler and Truck ID, then update the trucks tare with the current weight on the scale. Only useful when using gallery truck mode.
- “Print Gross Button ”- Will Print a Gross Ticket.
- “ Reprint Ticket Button” – Tickets from the current day transactions can be reprinted using the ticket number.
- “Add Truck w/ Stored Tare ” – Add truck to database with or without a keyed tare value. This is useful when using the indicator in gallery truck mode.
- “BTEK Logo ” – Holding this button will cause it to turn red, releasing it at this time will bring up a password screen. Pressing “2050” (default password) will take you into the ADMIN PANELS.
Admin Panel
Application page
- Export – Export application to USB thumb drive.
- Import – Import application from USB thumb drive.
- Startup – Start imported application, or alternate application.
Application Category Setup Pages
Use the application pages to add, delete, and edit the database. Some fields can be turned on and off in the prompt button. When setting up a new system, start by adding a hauler if you want to sort trucks by hauler, then a truck to each hauler. Leave hauler empty if you only want to track truck ID’s. Up to three free text custom prompts can be configured. Type in caption after enabling the prompt.
Prompt button disables or selects when to prompt on inbound or outbound transaction.
Truck Page
The truck screen has buttons to add, delete, and edit trucks.
- Delete or Display Inbound – Display to view or Delete inbound transactions no longer needed.
- Truck Mode – Select whether truck ID’s will be manually key or selected from a gallery.
Truck Mode Options:
- Keyed- Typical inbound / outbound application. Truck ID’s will be cleared after the outbound transaction. When re-entered, a new inbound transaction will be performed. It is recommended to remove the update tare button on the main menu page when using this mode.
- Gallery- Useful when the same trucks will be used, and a database of trucks is created. Update tare button will be used for trucks returning to recapture their inbound weight.
Main Menu Page
- Add Truck w/ Stored Tare – Removes / adds the Add Truck w/ Stored Tare from the weighing screen.
- Print Gross Ticket – Removes / adds the print gross ticket from the weighing screen.
- Reprint Ticket – Removes / adds the reprint ticket button from the weighing screen.
- Update Tare – Removes / adds the update tare button from the weighing screen.
- Weigh Truck – Removes / adds the Weigh Truck button from the weighing screen.
- Zero Scale – Removes / adds the Zero Scale button from the weighing screen.
Ticket Page
- Print Inbounds – Selects whether inbound or only outbound tickets will be printed
- Reprint A Ticket – Tickets from the current days transactions can be reprinted
- Ticket Mode – Selects whether inbound or outbound transaction will increment the ticket number
- Ticket Number – Reset the ticket number, or enter 0 to remove from the ticket.
Database Page
- Server – This will take you to the SERVER Screen.
- Settings – This will take you to the SETTINGS Screen.
Server page
- This Screen will be used if there is another device that will be connecting to the database on this device.
- Clicking the “Enable Data Server” button will create the server on the Port Number specified and allow devices to connect to it.
- Clicking the Port Number will bring up a keyboard dialog allowing you to change the value.
DB Settings
- This screen is used to change the database for the data that the application generates. By default it will be set to SQL CE (stored on the machine).
- If your application is connecting to a SQL Server Database, select “SQL Server” from the “Database Provider” list and enter all the connection information in their respective boxes.
- If your application is connecting to another DD device to store its data, select “Remote” from the “Database Provider” list and enter the Port Number Set up on the other device that it is listening on.
Sharing Database
Primary DD:

Under the Server page Check the box [X] Enable Data Server

Make note of the Port Number (Default is 8095)

Make note of the IP Address
-
If the network is DHCP then the indicator should be automatically assigned an address, however you will want to static set this address on the primary DD so that is doesn’t change.

To statically set and address first obtain the address settings from the customer IT group or if you are using a crossover cable or your own network switch you can set one yourself.

In this example, we will use IP Address 192.168.1.10 for the primary indicator iP address.

To Set the address on the primary indicator
-
Navigate to the Start Menu -> Settings -> Network and Dial-Up Connections

DB-Click on the DM9CE1 (or AX88772B1 in Skynet) icon

Mark the button the states Specify an IP Address and enter the address 192.168.1.10 and gateway address of 255.255.255.0

Click Ok to accept the changes and close the Network window
-

On Skynet Version, using mouse, open task bar, press start, scroll to programs, scroll to calibri tools, scroll and click on SaveReg, Click OK. IP is lost on reboot if skipped.

Close the Server window and tape on the Settings icon on the Database Page

Make a note of the Database Name field (default is STANDARD TRUCK.sdf)

Using mouse, open task bar, press start, scroll to programs, calibri tools, and click on SaveReg, then Click OK. Settings are lost on reboot if this is not done.

Close the Settings page and reboot the primary indicator.
Setup Slave DD
- On the slave DD follow previous steps 3.I through 3.IV. However, this time set the slave DD IP Address to 192.168.1.20 and a gateway of 255.255.255.0
- Under the Database Page tap the Settings icon
- Under the Database provider, select Remote
- Under Port Number enter 8095 (unless you changed it in step 2 of the primary setup
- Under Data Source enter the IP Address from the primary DD, in this example it is 192.168.1.10
- Under Database Name enter the information collected in the primary setup step 5. (Default is STANDARD TRUCK.sdf)
- Double check your settings and tap Ok Using mouse, open task bar,
- For Skynet only: press start, scroll to programs, calibri tools, and click on SaveReg, then Click OK. Settings are lost on reboot if this is not done.
- Reboot the slave device, it should now be sharing a database with the primary unit
- You can add additional slave devices to the mix by incrementing the IP Address from step 1 of the slave setup and the rest of the setup.
Technician Panel
Reports Page
- “Design Button ”- Default reports will be listed. Use this button to modify, add, or delete reports.
- “Export Button ”- Insert USB thumb drive into one of the ports. Select Export, then report to export, then select whether you want to clear the database. .CSV file will be stored on the thumb drive. Daily E-mail reports can be scheduled by setting check box, time, and e-mail address.
- “Mail Server Button ”- Takes you to the Screen where you can configure the email server in which the email function will send emails through.
- “Send”- By entering an e-mail address, a current report will be sent.
Export
Email Report Configuration
Check the “Schedule Report” button, Set the time of day to process the report,
then enter e-mail address of the recipient.
Mail Server
- Configure this screen to match the settings provided by your email provider. This will be the server in which the emails coming from the system will go through.**
- If you are using a Gmail Account as specified Above, you will need to visit https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps and unlock this feature for that email account**
Printers / Ticket
- Configure Header / Footer Button – This will take you to the CONFIGURE HEADER page where you can customize what appears on top or bottom of your printed tickets.
- Printer / Aux Printer Configuration – This will take you to the PRINTER CONFIGURATION page where you can set up all the configurations associated with your printer.
- Copies Button – This will take you to the Ticket Copies page where you can set the number of copies.
Configure Header / Footer
- “Folder Button ” – Uploads a text file to the edit page.
- “Save Button” – Saves current text to a .txt file.
- “Paper Button ” – Clears the current information
Select the white page area to insert the curser, then open the keyboard on the task bar, or plug in usb keyboard to enter text.
- Will Print at the top of every ticket in the order it is in**
Printer Configuration
- Please consult your printers manual for Baud Rate, Data Width, and Parity Settings. TCPIP or laser printers require additional configuration and setup please call support to find out more and schedule assistance**
Printer Type:
- VKP80III – Is the type you will want to select if you are using a DD2050 with built in printer
- EpsonTM295 – Is the type you will want to select for most Epson printers
- Generic – Is the type you will want to select if you are not using either of the above
System
- Date/Time: Will bring up the Computer’s Date/Time Configuration allowing you to change these settings. Change and apply time zone first, then adjust time and date.
- Network: Will bring up the Computer’s Network Panel, allowing you to view connections and view IP Address of the device.
- Reboot: Will reboot the device and restart the application.
- Auto Reboot: Will reboot the device and restart the application at a set time each day.
Scales
Under the “2835” passcode there are additional options that should be managed by a scale service provider.
- Zero Button – Will bring up options to adjust zero range and set a zero timer to give time to walk off the scale.
- Tools – will bring up additional configuration’s options provided by the framework See DD Tech manual for additional information
- Diagnostics – Will shortcut the operator to additional options provided by the scale framework
- Events – Will shortcut the operator to a list of events that can be printed (if a printer is available and configured in the Bilanciai framework) including locking and unlocking of the seal, load cell swaps and resets etc..
- Metro – Will shortcut the operator to the scale configuration pages see “Adding a scale” in this manual
- Status Monitoring – Enabling feature will disable the weigh screen while scale is in motion.
Passwords
- Scale Menu Button: Sets an access password for the scale setup button on the weigh screen.
- Tech Password Button: Changes the password to technical settings.
- User Password Button: Changes the password to the admin settings.
- Contact B-TEK Support to reset passwords to default.
Hardware Page
- Card Reader: Card reader configuration
- Serial Transmission: Photo Eye Configuration
- Traffic Light: Traffic Light Configuration
Card Reader Settings
- Reader Model: HID, BTEK, TRES 900S, or Deister
- Mode: The desired COM port the reader is connected too. Select Com, TCP Client, TCP Server
- Baud Rate / Bits / Parity: settings in which the indicator should communicate with the reader on. These should be provided by the reader’s manufacture.
Photo eyes
- See input / outputs section of this manual for cabling layout **
Entry / Exit:
- Input: Which IO to use for the entry photo eye
- Normally: Select where the photo eye will be normally open or normally closed
- Message: The message to display on screen when the photo eye is activated
- A jumper wire might need added, or terminal strip removed if configuration / wiring is not correct.
Traffic light
- Mode: Set SINGLE, DOUBLE relay, or TL-280 Ethernet operation. Select DOUBLE if you’re going to use a separate IO for both Red and Green lights and SINGLE if you’re going to use only one IO for both lights
- Red / Green I/O: Select of the IO port
- On Screen: Inserts traffic light indication on the weigh screen
- Allow Toggle: Allows manual control of the traffic light by pressing red or green light on screen. Normally: Sets relay position to normally open or closed.
- Threshold: Point at which the light switches from Green to Red and back again
- Red / Green: Sets character in the weight data string to control light via serial communication.
I/O Page
Interpreters: Allows the program to interpret data from external device
and activate processes.
Ports: Create / edit / delete serial port and TCP/IP port settings.
Remote Scale: Configures another scale’s data stream and port to be
displayed on the weigh screen. Setpoints: Configure the input / output ports.
See Setpoint setup section below.
Transmits: Create serial strings from communication ports.
Interpreter
Input interpreters are used to receive data from external devices such as moisture readers and bar code scanners.
- Port: The communications port that will receive the data
- Name: The name of the input interpreter
- Starts With: The character(s) that mark the start of this input interpreter
- Ends With: The character(s) that mark the end of this input interpreter
- Macro: Macro commands to execute when the string is received
- Format: The format of the characters to be received
Transmits
Select create, delete, or edit to configure
Transmission: Tapping will Enable or Disable the transmission
Transmit Port: When tapped will bring up a screen allowing the operator
to manually enter the serial port they desire to use
Start / End: If you want to put a carriage return or line feed you could
add 010 013 using the ascii map to translate the codes
Transmission String: Contact BTEK for assistance building a custom
string, or see Aurora technical manual.

Setpoints (Output)
- See input / outputs section of this manual for cabling layout **

Mode: Selects Input or Output
Scale Name: Selects scale the output will activate from
Delay: Time delay for active on and inactive on
Active On: Setpoint active when setting is true. Values: Never, Motion,
Stable, Above, Below, Between, Outside, and Always.
Inactive On: Setpoint inactive when setting is true. Values: Never,
Motion, Stable, Above, Below, Between, Outside, and Always.
Active and Inactive Macro: Initiates selected macro step when setpoint is met.
Setpoints (Input)

Mode: Selects Input or Output
Remote Command: Select None, Zero, or Tare function
SEE PAGES 46-47 for Input / Output wiring and power requirements.
Inbound Process (manual truck / Keyed ID)
- Click Weigh Truck which will take you to a screen to enter your Truck ID, or Hauler screen if sorting trucks by hauler.
- Enter Your Truck ID
- If System finds the entered truck ID in the system, see the “INBOUND PROCESS WITH STORED TRUCK” Section for more details
- If System finds the entered truck ID in the incomplete tickets table, it will start the OUTBOUND PROCESS
- If the ID is left blank, the confirmation screen will appear, but will not process transaction.
- Select Customer (If set to Inbound)
- Select Product (If set to Inbound)
- Confirm or Cancel Ticket
- This will save ticket to the database, as well as print to the printer if specified to print inbound ticket.
Inbound Process (stored truck / gallery mode):
- Click Update Tare which will take you to a screen to enter your Truck ID, then capture the current weight on the scale to update your truck tare. Or click on Add Truck w/Stored Tare to add new truck to database, and is optional to key in tare weight.
Outbound Process
- Click Weigh Truck which will take you to a screen to enter your Truck ID, or Hauler screen if sorting trucks by hauler.
- If it finds an open ticket, it will go through the Customer/Product Prompts (Note: your prompt setting must be set to “Outbound” to select prompts with stored trucks).
- Confirm Ticket
- When Confirmed, Completed ticket will be saved to the database and a ticket will be printed (if enabled).
Gross Ticket Process:
- Press the Print Gross Ticket button and a Ticket Will be Printed (if enabled).
