1. What is a Sync box?
It’s a device that syncs movies, games, shows or just any other content onto the lights attached behind the TV to create a more immersive experience.
2. Can you use NEO without the TV?
Yes, the TV or any other external device is not needed for the lights to work. You can simply turn the lights on by using the APP.
3. Do the lights come with the box?
Yes, the lights come with the box, the length of the light strip depends on the package you get.
4. Can it work with other devices that are not mentioned in the description?
Yes, if there’s an HDMI output it will work. For example, IPTV, DVR and other tv boxes are supported.
5. Does NEO come with multiple HDMI ports?
No, there are two, one input and one output port, which means for every external device you would need to change the HDMI input. You can also get an HDMI splitter with multiple HDMI input ports, this way you wouldn’t need to change the cables when using different devices.
6. Does the HDMI cable come with the package?
Yes, the package comes with HDMI cable, Power Adapter and the Sync Box.
7. I have a smart tv and I watch most of my shows through apps, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, will it work?
Unfortunately, for the device to be in sync, the signal needs to come from an external source through an HDMI cable. If you’re using only TV apps, the lights won’t be able to sync with what’s on screen as it won’t be getting a signal from the TV, but you can still use the lights for music or through an APP.
8. Are there any sensors?
There are no external sensors to help sync with the screen. The signal that comes through an HDMI cable is processed and then the information is sent to the lights. There is a builtin microphone so the lights would be in sync with the music.
9. Is HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 supported?
No, at the moment the device can only support HDMI 1.4a/b.
10. Does it support 4K at 60FPS?
4K is supported, but the maximum frame rate is 44, so it won’t be able to sync with 60 Frames per second.
11. Do you need a special TV to use it?
No, every brand and size is supported as long as it has an HDMI port.
12. Is it difficult to set it up?
The installation process is very simple, takes less than 2 minutes. Refer to the user’s guide.
13. Does it support Google Assistant?
Yes, Google Assistant, Alexa and Smart Things are supported.
14. Is Wi-Fi 5GHz supported?
Unfortunately, it only supports 2.4GHz.
15. Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Internet connection is only required to change the settings in the app.
16. Can you add extra lights?
Extra lights from LightMi, such as light bars, can sync with the NEO Sync box through Wi-Fi. If you want to put it behind the sofa or just have it on your ceiling, it’s not a problem.
17. Can the size be adjusted if you get a new TV?
As long as the size is the same or smaller, the light strips can be made to fit your new TV. However, if the size of the TV is bigger, you will need a longer light strip.
18. Can I connect lights from different companies?
You might be able to, but we do not recommend it.
19. Is there a remote controller?
No, but you can use an APP to control the settings.
20. How can I choose between different modes (Music, Ambient light, Screen (Sync) mode)?
Everything is done through an APP.
21. How do I connect the lights?
Refer to the user’s guide.
22. How do I know which package to choose?
It all depends on your TV size. For example, if your TV is 75inches, you can buy the 2 nd package. The light strips can be cut to make them shorter, but you cannot add extensions. Refer to the user’s guide on how to cut the light strip.
23. How do I use the APP?
You need to turn the Bluetooth on and connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi before linking your NEO sync box with your phone.
24. What if I can’t see the product on the APP?
First, check if the NEO Sync box is plugged in. If it is, then try holding the reset button for 5 seconds.
