INSTALLATION DIAGRAM:
*NOTE: The camera needs a +12V trigger. Power the camera from the reverse light wire using RED Wire A. GREEN Wire B is a pass-through wire, you can use this wire to connect a reverse trigger from the camera location to the RCA. Tap the Black wire to an existing ground lead, or ground Black wire securely to vehicle body metal.

NOTE: Reset the camera by disconnecting the power wire after cutting or joining the loop wires for the option to take effect.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Follow these steps to properly install the new tailgate handle:
- REMOVE THE TAILGATE COVER: Start by lowering the tailgate of the truck. Remove the tailgate cover by using a T-30 torx bit, remove (8) torx bolts that secure the tailgate cover.
- REMOVE THE TAILGATE HANDLE: After removing the tailgate cover, you will have access to the backside of the factor tailgate handle. Disconnect the actuator rods, then disconnect the tailgate locking harness. Using an 8mm socket, remove the 2 nuts holding the tailgate handle assembly.
- SET UP THE NEW TAILGATE HANDLE: Using an 8mm wrench, remove the factory locking mechanism from the old tailgate handle. Install the locking mechanism to the new tailgate handle.
- RUN THE PROVIDED EXTENSION CABLE: Run the provided extension cable toward the radio location. Make sure to set the parking brake first for safety as you will need to run the cable under the truck. The cable is covered by a loom to protect it from the elements.
- REINSTALL THE NEW TAILGATE HANDLE WITH CAMERA: Re-assemble the new tailgate handle in reverse order. Route the wire towards the bottom of the tailgate and through the access port under the truck.
- VIDEO AND POWER CONNECTIONS: Connect the video RCA to the aftermarket radio or RVC interface. Connect the camera power supplied by the aftermarket radio or RVC interface to the thin RED wire B on the CDR-02 extension cable. RED wire A on the extension cable will not be used and needs to be insulated. Tap the BLACK wire to an existing ground lead, or ground Black wire securely to vehicle body metal. See diagram on page 1 for details.
Another option to power the camera is to tap RED wire A to the +12V reverse light wire. The thin RED wire A will not be used in this option and needs to be insulated. See page 1 for details.
TIP: There should be an opening (covered with a rubber cap) between the
cabin and the bed of the truck where you can insert the extension cable
.
