Contraindications

Please do not use cutaneous electrodes for stimulation (stimulation electrodes) if you have cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted metallic or electrical device. Such use could cause electric shock, burns, electrical interference, or death.

Precautions:

  1. Turn the stimulator off before applying or removing electrodes.
  2. It is used for transmitting alternating current (AC) only. Do not use it to stimulate with Direct Current (DC).
  3. Clean and dry the skin prior to each application
  4. Electrodes should be kept out of reach of children
  5. Some persons may experience skin irritation or hypersensitivity due to the electrical stimulation, the electrode material or the electrical conductive medium (hydrogel).

Warnings:

Please not to apply stimulation electrodes:

  • Over the neck, which could cause severe muscle spasms resulting in closure of the airway, difficulty in breathing, or adverse effects on heart rhythm or blood pressure

  • Across the chest because the introduction of electrical current into the chest may cause rhythm disturbances to the heart, which could be lethal

  • Over open wounds or over swollen, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruptions (e.g. phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins)

  • Over, or in proximity to, cancerous lesions

  • Do not exeed 0.25watts/ cm’. Use with CAUTION if current density exeed 2mA/em’.
    We advise that:

  • Electrodes should be applied only to normal, intact, clean skin

  • The electrical performance characteristics of electrodes may affect the safety and effectiveness of electrical stimulation and recording

  • Using stimulation electrodes that are too small or incorrectly applied could result in discomfort or skin burns

  • The user should contact the manufacturer of the electrical stimulator or recording device when the user does not know if the electrodes can be used with his device.

  • The users shall not share electrodes with other persons because of risks of adverse skin reactions and disease transmission

Attention

  • The long-term effects of cutaneous electrodes for electrical stimulation and/ or recording are unknown.
  • Since the effects of stimulation of the brain are unknown, stimulation electrodes should not be placed on opposite sides of the head.
  • Keep electrodes out of the reach of children
  • Replace self-adhesive electrodes if they no longer stick firmly to the skin
  • The slectrode gel surface should be kept free from lint and oils to maximize their life. Always store the electrodes on the release liner and keep the bag sealed. Place the bag in a cool and shady place.
