Adapting your Pet to the Product
1 Preparation
Prepare snacks or treats for your pet before beginning. For large dogs, we
recommend cutting the treats into 2-inch pieces. For small and medium-sized
dogs, we recommend cutting the treats into 1-inch pieces. Ideally, the
training process would begin 2-3 days before regularly using the product.
2 Remove the product from its box and allow your pet to acquaint themselves
with it at their own pace.
Ü If your pet is timid or nervous in new situations, be sure to remove the
product from its box while your pet is not present. – When your pet approaches
the product, offer a treat in order to create a positive perception of the pet
dryer.
3 Separate the detachable fan component from the drying room then place each
part to again allow your
pet to acquaint themselves. Ü Further disassemble the parts until the dryer
room resembles a tunnel that your pet can pass through.
4 Lay the drying room and detachable fan component on top of a blanket in an
open space (in an area
large enough to accommodate your pet moving in and out of the drying room).
Encourage your pet to walk in and out of the drying room, rewarding them with
a treat once they make it through to the other side. NOTE: Do not move to the
next step in the training process until your pet can go in and out of the
drying room on
their own.
5 Once your pet is able to enter the dryer room on their own, narrow the gap
between the dryer room
and the detachable fan component to about 12 inches apart.
6 Plug the power cord into an available 120V AC power outlet then initiate
Training mode on the
detachable fan component. Ü Training mode will automatically end after 9
minutes of operation.
7 While Training mode is on, continue encouraging your pet to walk in and out
of the dryer room,
rewarding them with treats as necessary. Encourage them to sit or lay down in
the dryer room.
8 After your pet has been properly acclimated to sitting in the dryer room
with the fans on,
combine the detachable fan component and the dryer room. Ü If your pet is
timid or nervous in new situations, be sure to reassemble the product while
your pet is not present.
www.cuckoorental.com www.cuckooamerica.com
Adapting your Pet to the Product
9 After the product has been reassembled, place the same blanket that you used
during training inside of
the dryer room. If your pet is not entering/exiting the dryer room on their
own, we recommend placing treats in the dryer room until they’re entirely
acclimated.
10 Once your pet has adapted to entering and exiting the dryer room on their
own, attach the Door to the
dryer room. Ü If your pet is timid or nervous in new situations, be sure to
assemble the Door while your pet is not present. Ü After the Door has been
installed, repeat Step 11 with the Door open.
11 As your pet continues to grow more comfortable with going in and out of the
dryer room, close the Door
while your pet inside then be sure to open the door after a few seconds to
give them a treat. Gradually increase the amount of time the door is closed as
the training process progresses.
12 Once your pet can withstand being in the dryer room with the Door closed
for extended
periods of time, initiate Training mode on the control panel. Be sure to
reward your pet by giving them a treat through the top cover of the dryer
room.
13 After your pet is comfortable while Training mode is in operation, run Dry
mode on its default
settings. Provide treats to your pet through the top cover of the dryer room
as you see necessary.
14 Congratulations! Your pet has been properly accustomed to dryer room and is
now ready for regular use.
