How do I do a factory reset (Shipping Condition) on my DVD recorder?

Please follow the steps below: Press the Functions menu button on the remote control, and when the menu appears, select Others and press OK. Then select Set Up and press OK. Select To Others and press the right hand arrow on the circle pad. Then select Initialize and press OK. Select Shipping Condition and press OK. The warning message will come up three times. Please press OK each time it does. When this has been done, you will need to turn theDVD Recorder off and disconnect it from the mains for a few minutes. After a few minutes have passed, reconnect the unit to the mains and it will reset itself.

What are the recording modes?

The recording mode controls the size and quality of the recording. They are as follows:- XP - Maximum Quality - 1 hour per disc. SP - Good Quality - 2 hours per disc. LP - Reduced Quality - 4 hours per disc EP - Low Quality - up to 8 hours per disc. FR - Flexible Record - Fits a recording onto a DVD using variable sample rates where the recording is between 1 and 8 hours. A good example of this mode is when recording a film that is two and a half hours. Flexible record will adjust the sample rate to best fit the film onto one disk

How do I manually retune my DVD Recorder?

In some areas, aerials can pick up signals from more than one transmitter. This can trigger the 'New Service' message to appear. When this happens, the television/recorder may accidentally tune into, or try to tune into, the wrong transmitter, causing either the wrong regional channels to appear, or on rare occasions, causing the loss of some channels. The solution to this is twofold. First, turn off the 'New Service Message' or 'New Channel Message' (please see your instruction manual for information on where to find this option in the menu).
