Remove the parts and bike from the carton and identify them using the expanded illustration.
Then, proceed with installation.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1.
Mount the front bottom tube. Place front bottom tube (port BJ) into saddle brocket at the front of the frame. Align the holes in the front bottom tube with the holes in the brocket and put 2 carriage bolts (QJ) through the holes from underneath. Place 2 washers on bolts, screw on 2 dome nuts (RJ) and tighten.

STEP 2.
Attach the rear bottom tube. Remove the indicated end cap from the rear of the main frame (port A).
Discard it. Slide rear bottom tube (port C) into the rear of the main frame (port AJ and screw in 4 Phillips screws TJ to secure it.)

STEP 3.
Attach the handlebars. Remove the screw, nuts and washers from the handle rod. Slide handlebar rotation rod through the linkage tube at the top of main frame. The rod may need a little lubrication to easily slide through the bushings at either end of the
linkage tube. Center the rod and rotate it until the set hole in the rod aligns with the hole in the center of the linkage tube. Screw the fixing screw into the aligned hole and secure it. Attach the left handle (port E). The left handle is marked with on “L”. Put the handlebar pivot housing on the left side of the rotation rod. Slide the rotation rod’s thread stem through pivot housing bushings. Place a washer on stem and screw on nut.

Place the plastic end cap (found in the screw pock) onto nut after final lightening. Attach the right handle (port FJ) in the some manner. Slide the foam grips (Port LJ) on to the handlebars. A small amount of liquid soap will ease installation.
STEP 4.
Remove nuts and washers from studs on the bottom of the seat (port J). Place seat onto seat tube (port I) and replace washers and nuts. Secure tightly. Slide the seat post into the main frame aligning the set of holes in the seat tube with the screw hole on the main frame. Screw in the seat height adjustment knob (port KJ) to your desired height and secure tightly.

STEP 5.
Mount display (port M). Insert batteries into battery holder being sure to follow the battery diagram. Check that the display is showing a zero reading. If it does not, check batteries and battery installation. Inspect the display cable coming from main frame for damage. If there is clear damage, inform customer care and continue with the remaining installation. Attach the display cable into the receiving wire sticking out from the back of the display. Slide display on to the front main frame.

STEP 6.
Install the pedals. The right pedal (port HJ) is marked with on “R”. The left pedal (port G) is marked with on “L”. It is important that each pedal goes on the proper side. Select the right pedal. Slide the step pedal bushing on the pedal first. Then slide the plastic pedal clip onto the pedal. Next, slide the ball bearing next to the clip. Now screw the pedal stem into the right pedal arm. The right pedal tightens clockwise. You must make sure to secure it tightly. Screw on the pedal’s stem and lock nut until tight. Rotate the right handle rod’s link arm to meet the pedal. Bring the “C” slot on the link arm up from the bottom to hook within the clip on the pedal stem. After aligning the holes on the link arm and the clip, insert the pedal lock to finish attaching the handle to the pedal. Install left pedal in the same manner except the left pedal tightens anticlockwise.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please follow the Figure- 6 step by step. The pedal stem must be secured tightly within the pedal arm on the main frame. The lock nut must be secured tightly too. Check both from time to time to ensure a longer lifetime for using this equipment.

The left (LJ) and right (RJ) directions are marked with the user standing behind the cycle.
ATTENTION: Left pedal rotates antilock wise and right pedal rotates clockwise direction while fitting the paddle. If direction is not followed it will destroy the thread of the paddle and the crank.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS (FOR STATIONARY HANDLES)
Please follow these steps for the following models:
For the Air Bike with Stationary Handles, the installation process is almost exactly the same as the Air Bike with Moving Handles. The only parts that have a different installation are the handles and the pedals. Inserting the handles. Select the right handle rod that will be marked with an R. Remove the plastic cap from the end of the handle tube. Insert the handle rod into the tube. Tighten the screw on the top of the handle tube from the side facing towards the display. Repeat this process with the other handle.

Attaching the pedals. Pick up the right pedal that will be marked with an R. Push the plastic end of the pedal into the right pedal arm. Using the wrench provided, screw the pedal in by rotating clockwise until it is tightly inserted. Repeat this process with the other pedal, except the left pedal rotates anticlockwise.
OPTIONAL ATTACHMENTS
Please follow these steps for the following models:
The Back Support. Before inserting the seat rod into the seat tube (Step 4), slip the back support onto the seat pipe from underneath. Then, go ahead with inserting the rod into the seat tube. Finish by screwing in the seat knob at the height that you desire by aligning the holes in the rod and the one in the tube.

The Back Handles. In models with the back handles, the user gets an additional support and variation of gripping option whilst exercising. You can attach this attachment to the Back Support rod by screwing 2 flat headed bolts into the holes of the Back Support mainframe. First putting in the washers followed by the nuts, tightening them properly for a no-wobble experience.

T he Twister. In models with the twister, the front bottom tube has a receiving metal receptacle sticking outwards. Align the holes on the receptacle and the holes on the twister pipe. Insert the metal pin into the holes to fasten the twister to the front bottom stand.

OPERATION

  1. LEVELING THE BICYCLE EXERCISER. Place the exercise bike in the location it will be used. The floor should be hard and flat, and the bike should sit firmly on the floor. If the bike is not stable, turn the end caps on the front strut (port C) until the bike is stable. Turn one end cap at 0 time as it may only be necessary to adjust one.

  2. ADJUSTING THE TENSION. The BICYCLE EXERCISER has tension control knob on the main frame that can be turned to increase or decrease the tension. Turn clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease. The tension range can be increased or decreased by adjusting the tension step (port 1). Turn the tension knob counterclockwise until it stops. Pull the tension strap through the strap’s buckle at the top of the main frame to make the strap tighter around the fan disk, increasing the strength of  the tension range. Loosen the strap to decrease it. Use the tension knob to make finer adjustments to the resistance.

  3. Wear the proper clothing. The user should wear clothes that are not restrictive and are comfortable.
NOTE: When wearing long pants, be sure the legs are not too loosely hanging so that they do not get caught in the chain sprocket.

  4. Wear suitable featwear. Rubber soled shoes and athletic socks are recommended.

  5. Place the exercise bike on a hard, flat surface in a convenient area. Be sure there is good air circulation at its location. It is recommended that the surface is easy to clean so that any residue from usage, such as perspiration, may be cleaned without problem.  The bike should not be used by children or handicapped persons without qualified person in attendance.

  6. Diet is as important as exercising far good physical conditioning. The practice of good nutrition is essential for your fitness program.

  7.  Do not over do it. Set goals you can achieve without overexertion. Always do warm-up and cool-down period before and after exercising. Start slow and finish slow.

  8. Consult with physician before starting any exercise program or diet.

  9. How to make the handlebars stationary: The handlebars can be made stationary by unlocking the connecting bars from the pedal stems and hooking onto the pegs on the main frame’s front upright rod. Pull the “C” clip from the pedal stem. Remove the  connecting bar from the pedal stem. Drop the connecting bar (port WJ) from the pedal. When free from the pedal, swing the connecting bar forward and hock notch in the edge of connecting bar into peg, located on the main frame’s upright rod. Be sure it is hooked firmly. Replace the “C” clip on the pedal stem so it will not be misplaced. Do the other side in the some manner.

WARNING: Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
Children or handicapped persons should not use any exercise equipment without qualified person in attendance.
Precautions:

  1. Check the pedal and its lock nut. Be sure they are always secured tightly.
  2. Periodically lubricate the moving parts with lightweight household lubricant.
  3. Check all nuts, bolts and clamp assemblies to be sure they are tight and secure.
  4. Check tension strap for wear and tear. Replacement straps are available through our service department.
  5. Check monitor batteries. Monitor uses “M” batteries (or use AG-13 batteries) We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our product. Therefore, these instructions are subject to change without prior notice. Please retain these instructions for future reference.

EXERCISE INSTRUCTIONS

Using your EXERCISE BIKE will provide you with several benefits. It will improve your physical fitness, tone muscle and in conjunction with a calorie controlled diet help you lose weight.

  1. The Warmup Phase
This stage helps get the blood flowing around the body and the muscles working properly. It also reduces the risk of cramp and muscle injury while exercising. It is advisable to do a few stretching exercises as shown below. Each stretch should be held for approximately 30 seconds, do not force or jerk your muscles into a stretch if it hurts.SYMACTIVE AB001 Air Bike Exercise
Cycle - Figure12

  2. THE EXERCISE PHASE
This is the stage where you put the effort in. After regular use, the muscles in your legs will become more flexible. Workout speed depends on your comfort and needs but it is very important to maintain a steady tempo throughout. The rate of work should be enough to raise your heartbeat into the target zone shown on the graph below.SYMACTIVE AB001 Air Bike Exercise Cycle -
Figure13This stage should last for a minimum of 12 minutes though most people start at about 15-20 minutes.

  3. THE COOL DOWN PHASE
This stage is to let your cardiovascular system and muscles wind down. This is repeat of the warmup exercise e.g. reduce your tempo, continue for approximately 5 minutes. The stretching exercises should now be repeated, again remembering not to force or jerk your muscles into the stretch.
As you get fitter, you may need to train longer and harder. It is advisable to train at least three times week and if possible, space your workouts evenly throughout the week.

MUSCLE TONING
To tone muscle while on your EXERCISE BIKE, you will need to have the resistance set quite high. This will put more strain on your leg muscles and may mean you cannot train for as long as you would like. If you are also trying to improve your fitness you need to alter your training program. You should train as normal during the warm up and cool down phases, but towards the end of the exercise phase you should increase resistance making your legs work harder. You will have to reduce your speed to keep your heart rate in the target zone.
WEIGHT LOSS
The important factor here is the amount of effort you put in. The harder and longer you work the more colories you will burn. Effectively this is the same as if you were training to improve your fitness, the difference is the goal.
USING THE DISPLAY
The display has 4 different modes to be able to track your workout details effectively. The details that you can access using the display are:

  1. Current Speed of workout,
  2. Time (duration of workout),
  3. Distance covered &
  4. Calories burnt.

When you first switch the display on, it is set by default to show speed and time. Pressing the MODE button repeatedly switches the display to show speed and distance, speed and calories burnt, and the Scan Mode respectively.
When you use the Scan Mode option, you can see several details simultaneously.
At the end of your workout or the start of your next, if you need to reset the readings on your meter, simply hold the MODE button down for 5 seconds.
