PRL MOTORSPORTS PRL-HC11 Resonator Delete Kit

REQUIRED TOOLS

  • Ratchet
  • Extension (3” & 12” Length)
  • 10mm Socket
  • Phillips Head Screw Driver
  • Flat Head Screw Driver
  • Magnetic Pickup Tool (Recommended)
  • Clip Removal Tool (Optional)
  • Pliers (Optional)

Before Beginning Your Installation

  1.  Turn off the ignition. Loosen the battery terminal and disconnect the negative battery terminal cable. Allow the vehicle to sit for a minimum of 5 minutes to drain any remaining charge from the charging system.
  2.  Before beginning any OEM component removal, please reference the parts list and ensure all components are enclosed. If something is missing, please contact PRL Customer Support.
  3.  The front bumper of the car will need to be removed to access the factory charge pipe location for the rubber cap. Please follow the following steps for removing the front bumper.
  4. OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED: To protect your vehicle from damage while removing the front bumper, wrap a shop towel around your hood latch and tape off the edge of the front fender and headlight assembly.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-2
  5. Remove the (3) bumper clips above each headlight. You can utilize a flathead screwdriver or a clip removal tool. Be sure to not damage the clips during this process. If any are snapped, visit your local Honda dealer for replacements.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-3
  6.  Remove the (2) bumper clips to the inside of the headlight.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-4
  7.  Remove the (1) Phillips head screw inside each of the wheel well arches. This holds the bumper to the fender liners. Check your hardware for any type of corrosion during this time as an extra step in vehicle maintenance.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-5
  8.  Remove the (1) bumper clip in each of the wheel well arches. Pull evenly outwards to disconnect the sides of the bumper from the wheel wells.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-6
  9.  On the underside remove (10) bumper clips along the front section. They are circled in blue in the image below. There are (2) 10mm bolts per side that need to be removed. They are circled in white in the image below.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-7
  10.  Before fully removing the bumper, unclip the top harness which is above the Honda badge, near the hood latch. Gently pull the bumper up and outwards to unseat it and create a gap big enough to access the harness.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-8
  11.  Continue to pull the bumper away from the car so you can access the last harnesses on each side. Unclip the fog light harness and sensor harness on each side of the bumper before fully disconnecting the bumper.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-9
  12.  Pull outwards, and down to clear the headlights and then place the bumper on a flat, covered surface to avoid scratching the underside of the bumper.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-10
  13.  OPTIONAL: If you not want to remove the airbox fully to place the PRL Billet 30mm plug into the side of the airbox, you can remove the air duct to make it easier to maneuver the top resonator away from the airbox. Remove the (3) 10mm bolts from the factory air duct.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-11
  14.  If you are removing the entire air box, begin here. Using a 3” extension to remove the (2) 10mm bolts from the bracket on the front of the air box. This bracket can be moved off to the side to remove the airbox fully.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-12
  15.  Using a 12” extension remove the (1) 10mm bolt on the right side of the airbox. We advise using a magnetic socket/magnetic pick so to not drop the bolt into the engine bay. Lift the airbox out of the engine bay.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-13
  16. Remove the top resonator from the side of the curved hose that faces away from the airbox towards the front of the car. Simply wiggle and pull it to free it from the hose. This is where the PRL Billet 30mm plug will be placed.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-14
  17.  Place the PRL Billet 30mm plug into the side of the hose. Make sure to push it until flush with the opening of the hose. This hose will then need re-aligned with the factory air duct outlet if it has come loose from it.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-15
  18.  Replace all the airbox hardware and/or the air duct hardware after the hose is plugged. You have completed the upper resonator delete.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-16
  19.  Start the lower resonator delete by removing the two factory clamps holding this line onto the resonator and the factory charge pipe with a Phillips head.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-17
  20.  Remove the (1) 10mm from the lower bracket holding the resonator into place that faces outward towards the fender. There is an additional 10mm on the backside that will also need to be removed.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-18
  21.  Remove the (1) 10mm from the upper bracket at the top of the resonator. After these are removed the resonator will come free. It is easier to remove the hose on the charge pipe by pulling on the whole resonator assembly.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-19
  22.  Place the PRL 31mm Rubber Cap on the outlet on the charge pipe and use the provided worm clamp to hold the cap in place.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-20
  23.  Redo the bumper removal steps in reverse, making sure to affix the fog lights, and (3) sensor harnesses as well.PRL-MOTORSPORTS-PRL-HC11-Resonator-Delete-Kit-21
